In this article, within the framework of general relativity, the possible effect of the gravitational interaction of Dirac nonlinear spinor fields on the evolution of the Universe, on the formation of astrophysical objects and on the formation of the geometry of the local space-time of elementary particles with spin ħ / 2 is considered.

In the framework of general relativity, possible effects of the gravitational interactions in the Dirac spinor field are considered. It is shown that these interactions manifest locally as contact spin-spin interaction of the gravitational and spinor fields. This interaction leads to the classical rotation of particles with spin ħ /2. As a result, it leads to appearance of local internal space-time with specific geometric properties for each particle. New effect of an increase of the mass of spinor particles due to this interaction is found. Also, an explanation of the existence of a magnetic moment in Dirac spinor particles as a result of a local electro-spin-spin interaction has been proposed.

In the framework of general relativity, the properties of the local space-time of fermions with an electric charge are considered. It is known that the Dirac spinor field acts locally, as a contact spin-spin interaction of the gravitational and spinor fields and that may lead to some specific properties of spacetime structure. It is shown that this interaction causes real rotation of particles with spin ħ /2. It was found that this rotation is a source of intrinsic magnetic moment for electrically charged particles. As it was found, in this case the local spacetime of charged particles can have the spacetime structure of a passable «wormhole».

Recently a mechanism to generate mass from gravitational interaction, based on Mach principle, according to which the inertia of a body is a property of matter as well as of the background provided by the rest-of-the-universe was presented in Refs. 1, 2. In these papers such an idea was realized for scalar and spinor fields treating the rest-of-the-universe in its vacuum state. In the present paper, using an extended version of Mach principle, the same strategy will be applied to show how the Heisenberg-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio non-linear equation for fermions Ψ arises as a consequence of the gravitational interaction of Ψ with the rest-of-the-universe.

Within the scope of the non-diagonal Bianchi cosmological models we have studied the role of the spinor field in the evolution of the Universe. In the non-diagonal Bianchi models the spinor field distribution along the main axis is anisotropic and does not vanish in the absence of the spinor field nonlinearity. Hence within these models perfect fluid, dark energy etc. cannot be simulated by the spinor field nonlinearity. The equation for volume scale V in the case of non-diagonal Bianchi models contains a term with first derivative of V explicitly and does not allow exact solution by quadratures. Like the diagonal models the non-diagonal Bianchi space-time becomes locally rotationally symmetric even in the presence of a spinor field. It was found that depending on the sign of the coupling constant the model allows either an open Universe that rapidly grows up or a close Universe that ends in a Big Crunch singularity.

In this paper we review a part of the approaches that have been considered to explain the extraordinary discovery of the late time acceleration of the Universe. We discuss the arguments that have led physicists and astronomers to accept dark energy as the current preferable candidate to explain the acceleration. We highlight the problems and the attempts to overcome the difficulties related to such a component. We also consider alternative theories capable of explaining the acceleration of the Universe, such as modification of gravity. We compare the two approaches and point out the observational consequences, reaching the sad but foresightful conclusion that we will not be able to distinguish between a Universe filled by dark energy or a Universe where gravity is different from General Relativity. We review the present observations and discuss the future experiments that will help us to learn more about our Universe. This is not intended to be a complete list of all the dark energy models but this paper should be seen as a review on the phenomena responsible for the acceleration. Moreover, in a landscape of hardly compelling theories, it is an important task to build simple measurable parameters useful for future experiments that will help us to understand more about the evolution of the Universe.

Following Smolin, we proceed to unification of general relativity and quantum theory by operating solely with events, i.e., without appealing to physical systems and space-time. The universe is modelled as a dendrogram (finite tree) expressing the hierarchic relations between events. This is the observational (epistemic) model; the ontic model is based on p-adic numbers (infinite trees). Hence, we use novel mathematics—not only space-time but even real numbers are not in use. Here, the p-adic space (which is zero dimensional) serves as the base for the holographic image of the universe. In this way our theory relates to p-adic physics; in particular, p-adic string theory and complex disordered systems (p-adic representation of Parisi matrix for spin glasses). Our Dendrogramic-Holographic (DH) theory matches perfectly with the Mach’s principle and Brans-Dicke theory. We found surprising informational interrelation between the fundamental constants, h, c, G, and their DH-analogues, h(D), c(D), G(D). DH-theory is part of Wheeler’s project on the information restructuring of physics. It is also a step towards the Unified Field theory. The universal potential V is nonlocal, but this is relational DH-nonlocality. V can be coupled to the Bohm quantum potential by moving to the real representation. This coupling enhanced the role of the Bohm potential.

AbstractWhile it remains the staple of virtually all cosmological teaching, the concept of expanding space in explaining the increasing separation of galaxies has recently come under fire as a dangerous idea whose application leads to the development of confusion and the establishment of misconceptions. In this paper we develop a notion of expanding space that is completely valid as a framework for the description of the evolution of the universe and whose application allows an intuitive understanding of the influence of universal expansion. We also demonstrate how arguments against the concept in general have failed thus far, as they imbue expanding space with physical properties not consistent with the expectations of general relativity.

Active galactic nuclei (AGNs) are throwing in the interstellar space huge jets of energy in the form of elementary particles. The calculation of the energy density of space in the centre of the black hole with the mass of the Sun shows that in the space-time singularity of such a black hole energy density of space there is so low that atoms become unstable and fall apart into elementary particles. In this sense, AGN is a rejuvenating system of the universe. It transforms its own old matter into fresh energy in the form of jets.
