PENGARUH MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN TEKA-TEKI SILANG (TTS) TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR KOGNITIF PELAJARAN IPS KELAS III

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mendeskripsikan penerapan media TTS mata pelajaran IPS; 2) mengetahui peran media TTS pada hasil belajar kognitif IPS siswa kelas III SDN Karangbanyu 03 Kabupaten Ngawi Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021. Berdasarkan jenisnya, penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Desain penelitian ini melibatkan satu kelompok (satu kelas) saja sehingga digunakan one group pretest-posttest design. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 20 orang siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian adalah uji homogenitas, uji normalitas dan uji t Dua Sampel. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa (1) Penerapan media TTS mata pelajaran IPS pada siswa kelas III SDN Karangbanyu 03 Kabupaten Ngawi Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 dapat dijadikan sebagai solusi hasil belajar siswa yang kurang baik, perhatian siswa yang kurang ketika pembelajaran, serta menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran untuk menyajikan pelajaran IPS. Melalui media TTS pembelajaran IPS semakin menarik perhatian siswa, siswa lebih bersemangat dalam bertanya maupun menyampaikan pendapat sehingga mampu mendorong siswa mencapai hasil belajar yang lebih baik. (2) Penggunaan media TTS berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kognitif mata pelajaran IPS. Nilai yang dicapai siswa meningkat dari pre test ke post test dengan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran TTS. Hal ini terbukti dari nilai thitung pada penelitian ini adalah sebesar 21,512 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05.

Background Medical school ophthalmology education continues to be marginalized, creating the challenge of teaching students how to adequately diagnose and manage common ocular diseases in a limited time. Objective This study aimed to improve the ophthalmic medical knowledge and clinical skills of third-year medical students. Methods This curriculum was provided to 76 out of 124 third-year medical students in the 2016 class at the University of Colorado-Denver School of Medicine program. It was a half-day session that incorporated lectures, problem-based cases, and clinical skills. Participating students were given a self-reflection survey on their knowledge at the beginning and end of the session. Participating students were given a pre-test and post-test 6 months later via SurveyMonkey. Another quiz was given to all students within the class. Comparisons of pre- and post-tests, pre- and post-surveys, and quiz results in the participating and nonparticipating groups were made. Results Participating students' mean pre-test score was 61.8% (n = 76) and post-test score was 72.3% (n = 47), p < 0.01, indicating a significant increase in knowledge. There was an increase in 2 points on the Likert scale of understanding in ophthalmology between surveys. Participating students received a quiz mean score of 61.2%, which was significantly higher than those in the nonparticipating group (54.3%), p < 0.05. Conclusion This session improved medical students' confidence and medical knowledge in ophthalmology.

This paper outlines an attempt to discover students’ progress in both content and language skill in a content and language integrated learning (CLIL) lessons at an Indonesia’s higher education context. This is a part of a research conducted at Faculty of Science and Technology of Nusa Cendana University in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This study employs mixed method approach with 20 participants attending by taking pre-test and post-test as well as joining a focus group interview particularly for 6 students. The tests were aimed at measuring the participants’ comprehension of English as the language of CLIL lesson. They were also used as the tool to evaluate students’ mastery of Mathematics as the content subject. Based on the post-test results, the findings showed that more students made significant progress in content subject in comparison to their achievement in language proficiency. Regarding the interview, the students admitted that their failure to made progress in both subjects were mainly caused by their inadequate level of English. This, therefore, led to rising anxiety among the students to complete the tests.

Abstract Purpose: To investigate the influence of additional eccentric strengthening to the hip abductor and lateral rotator musculature on pain and function in sedentary people with Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). Methods: 30 sedentary patients between 18 and 40 years of age, with a diagnosis of PFPS, all the subjects received treatment for a period of 4weeks and the subjects were randomly assigned to Control group (CG) and Experimental group (EG). The patients in the Control group (n = 15) performed a conventional knee-stretching and strengthening program, whereas, patients in the Experimental group (n = 15) performed the same exercises as those in the control group ,in addition received eccentric strengthening exercises for the hip abductors and lateral rotators. An 11-point numeric pain rating scale (NPRS), the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS) and the Anterior Knee Pain Scale (AKPS) were used as outcome measures during the baseline and at the end of 4weeks . Results: Statistics were retrieved using SPSS.16, paired 't' test was conducted to compare AKPS and LEFS values ,whereas, Mann- Whitney U test was used for NPRS value between the groups. After 4 weeks of treatment, the control group, pre and post-test value for AKPS (p<0.001),LEFS (P<0.001),NPRS (p<0.001) shows a statistical significance and even in the experimental group, pre and post-test value for AKPS (p<0.001),LEFS (P<0.001),NPRS (p<0.001) shows a statistical significance in pain and function, but comparing both the group experimental group is significantly more better AKPS (p=0.002),LEFS (P<0.001),NPRS (P<0.001) then a control group. Conclusion: short term Knee strengthening exercises supplemented by eccentric hip abductor and lateral rotator musculature–strengthening exercises were more effective than knee exercises alone in improving function and reducing pain in sedentary people with PFPS.

The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of a context-based approach (CBA) ‘Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring’ (REACT) strategy used in relation to the topic of solubility equilibrium in the laboratory chemistry course on students’ achievement at associate level in a health-related program. In this regard, two contexts related to the topic of solubility equilibrium were developed and applied. The study had pre-test post-test with a control group research design and the participants consisted of sophomore students studying in the Medical Laboratory Techniques (MLT) and the Pharmacy Services (PS) Programs of the Ahmet Erdogan Vocational School of Health Services at Bulent Ecevit University (N= 96). The students enrolled in the MLT program were randomly assigned as the experimental group (n= 47) and the students in the PS program were randomly assigned as the control group (n= 49). The experimental group was taught solubility equilibrium by a CBA REACT strategy, whereas the control group was taught the relevant topic by conventional teaching. The ‘Equilibrium of Solubility Achievement Test (ESAT)’ and ‘Structured Interview Form’ were used as data collection tools in the research. The results of content analysis of ESAT post-test showed that the frequency of answers in the sound understanding category was higher for the experimental group compared to the control group students. In addition, the results of Mann–WhitneyUand Wilcoxon tests of the ESAT indicated that post-test scores were higher in both groups compared to pre-test scores and the increase was higher in the experimental group compared to the control group. The content analysis results of structured interview form and semi-structured interviews showed that the students expressed positive views concerning the instruction and the qualities of the contexts in general. In this research, it was concluded that the CBA REACT strategy used in relation to the topic of solubility equilibrium in the laboratory chemistry course improved students’ sound understanding and achievement and helped them develop positive views regarding the instruction and the quality of the contexts.

Abstract Introduction and study aims Accurate real-time endoscopic characterization of colorectal polyps is key to choosing the most appropriate treatment. Mastering the currently available classifications is challenging. We used validated criteria for these classifications to create a single table, named CONECCT, and evaluated the impact of a teaching program based on this tool. Methods A prospective multicenter study involving GI fellows and attending physicians was conducted. During the first session, each trainee completed a pretest consisting in histological prediction and choice of treatment of 20 colorectal polyps still frames. This was followed by a 30-minute course on the CONECCT table, before taking a post-test using the same still frames reshuffled. During a second session at 3 – 6 months, a last test (T3 M) was performed, including these same still frames and 20 new ones. Results A total 419 participants followed the teaching program between April 2017 and April 2018. The mean proportion of correctly predicted/treated lesions improved significantly from pretest to post-test and to T3 M, from 51.0 % to 74.0 % and to 66.6 % respectively (P < 0.001). Between pretest and post-test, 343 (86.6 %) trainees improved, and 153 (75.4 %) at T3 M. Significant improvement occurred for each subtype of polyp for fellows and attending physicians. Between the two sessions, trainees continued to progress in the histology prediction and treatment choice of polyps CONECCT IIA. Over-treatment decreased significantly from 30.1 % to 15.5 % at post-test and to 18.5 % at T3 M (P < 0.001). Conclusion The CONECCT teaching program is effective to improve the histology prediction and the treatment choice by gastroenterologists, for each subtype of colorectal polyp.

Zusammenfassung Hintergrund Die Kontrolle einer myoelektrischen Prothese erfordert ein umfangreiches rehabilitatives Training, welches auf repetitiven Übungen basiert, angeleitet unter physiotherapeutischer Aufsicht. Doch zuhause fehlt vielen Patienten die Motivation, die Übungen aus der Physiotherapie weiterzuführen. Mobile Spiele auf dem Smartphone können zu einer Langzeit-Motivation beitragen, das Heimtraining mit der notwendigen Intensität fortzuführen. Patienten und Methodik Wir entwickelten ein Trainingssystem, welches aus einer spielbasierten mobilen Rehabilitationsanwendung besteht, die mit dem Muskelsignal des Patienten gesteuert wird, außerdem einem Tablett zum Spielen der App, einem Elektrodenarmband und einem Handbuch. Bisher haben zwei Patienten an dieser Studie teilgenommen. Sie wurden gebeten die App für 4 Wochen zu Hause, 5 Mal pro Woche, für 10 bis 15 Minuten zu benutzen. Gemäß eines Prä- und Post-Test-Designs wurden die neuromuskulären Parameter der Patienten vor und nach dem mobilen Training untersucht. Evaluiert wurden u. a. die maximale Kontraktionskraft, Muskelseparation, proportionale Ansteuerung und Muskelausdauer, sowie die Nutzerstatistiken während der App-Benutzung. Resultate Nach dem Training mit der App konnte eine signifikante Verbesserung (p < .01) aller untersuchten klinischen Parameter zur myoelektrischen Steuerung einer Prothese erzielt werden. Die Nutzerstatistiken ließen eine hohe Motivation zur Benutzung des Spiels und dem zusätzlichen Ausführen eines diagnostischen EMG-Tests bei einem Patienten erkennen, der andere teilnehmende Patient jedoch hatte zwar das Spiel gespielt, jedoch den EMG-Test vernachlässigt und diesen nur zur Hälfte absolviert. Conclusio Die Trainings-App „MyoBeatz“ bietet nicht nur Anleitung und Feedback zur korrekten Ausführung von myoelektrischen Kommandos, sondern erhält auch die Motivation des Patienten durch verschiedene Spielmodi und Feedbackelemente. Durch eine Übersicht des Trainingsfortschritts in Form von Nutzer-Statistiken und Highscores kann der Rehabilitationsprozess überwacht und verglichen werden. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass Patienten mit Amputation der oberen Extremität nach der Nutzung der spielbasierten App ihre neuromuskuläre Kontrolle, Kraft und Koordination signifikant verbessern konnten, so dass sie das Potential einer myoelektrischen Prothese voll ausschöpfen können.
