One of the consequences of globalization was an increase in the response between companies. In this way, companies increasingly seek continuous improvement using various mechanisms and tools aimed at improving their processes, products, and services, thus making them more competitive. In this scenario, FMEA stands out as a unique tool for detecting and reducing failures in products and processes in order to improve their confidence. This article is the result of the study of the application of the FMEA in an equipment to the production process of insertion of components. For this, action research was carried out, where equipment failure data was collected. As a result, a 5W2H action plan was prepared with the support of a GUT matrix to apply the recommended improvements in the FMEA.

<p class="Abstract">In this protocol we complete the first three stages of action research to analyze possibilities for continuous improvement of processes in public universities. We define the problem or area of improvement in the organization; we identify the relevance of the topic to generate an academic contribution and propose an action plan or work protocol. Although we have focused on a public higher education organization, this protocol can be applicable without requiring too many adaptations, to any public service (at least in the Spanish context).</p><p>[Protocolo: plan de acción para investigación-acción sobre mejora continua en servicios públicos. This article is based on a dialog with Professor Marja-Liisa Swantz, a distinguished participatory action research expert whose work has contributed immensely in the fields of development studies, women's studies, health, and technology internationally. Drawing from her experiences, the conversation provides an insight into how one can grow from a novice researcher to a very distinguished intellectual by staying focused and with a clear grasp of one's aspirations. We also learn from this dialog how participatory action research emerged as the most significant research style that argues in favor of involving participants as research partners in the knowledge production process.

Purpose: This study was carried out in a cork company and its purpose was to observe and analyze the practices and methods used during the tools/series change moments and to propose improvements and alternatives to these same procedures so that the time needed to carry out the setup is reduced by 15% in both lines. Methodology/Approach:The methodology included the following phases: 1st - historical data collection and setup video recording, 2nd - footage analysis and conduction of informal interviews with employees, 3rd - flow, Gantt, and spaghetti charts creation and making of an action plan based on the waste and improvement opportunities identified in video analysis, 4th - validation with the line workers of the new operating mode created with the Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) tool and communication to the Maintenance department about their role in this project, 5th - making and placement of plasticized cards on the cutting lines to ensure that new operating mode is followed and carrying out the actions identified in the action plan. Findings: Throughout this project using observations, video recording and its subsequent analysis, as well as interviews to the workers operating in the line, it was found the existence of several actions carried out by them during the setups which did not add value to the product, lack of adequate tools for the work to be performed and lack of work tools in general Research Limitation/implication: The study was limited by the lines and products under study and by the duration of the curricular internship, which was about five months. Originality/Value of paper: The article demonstrates the added value in terms of product quality and production output rate that SMED methodology can bring to companies that adopt the lean philosophy and in particular this continuous improvement tool.

Business in modern business conditions requires a continuous process of improvement and investment in all activities in the company. In order to survive on the market, resist the challenges of competition, but also the demands of customers, companies are constantly innovating the production process in an effort to improve all the company's activities. One of the production systems that proved to be suitable for continuous improvement and improvement of the production process is Lean production system. It represents the way companies react to the challenges of the present and the future. The Lean production system offers a variety of instruments, and for their implementation and application, managers are at all levels of responsibility and responsibility. Bearing this in mind, it can be said that the Lean production system is part of the management accounting. In addition, it represents a complete philosophy of thinking and action, which results in significant results by adequate application. The condition and the assumption that this management philosophy will lead to proper effectiveness and efficiency and enable them to continually improve in the function of maximizing profits is the authorization of employees to engage in the process of continuous improvement and decision-making. Lean is based on certain principles and philosophies, including customer value, value flow mapping, continuous flow, system requirements, and continuous improvements. Lean focuses on the added value. Lean's principle is a continuous search for perfection, perfection in production and business cooperation, with complete elimination of losses. Companies that implement the Lean Concept are constantly looking for ways to continually improve their efficiency, reduce costs and improve the quality of their products.

This article discusses methods of assessment of the trunk "Customers" for the ISUP re-engineering. We have used two tools: • Current state assessment of service quality using tree chart of indicators on four trunks: Customers, Process, Owners and the State. • Action plan development based on the Kobayashi PROF methodology. Evaluation of the trunk "Customers" (q1) is conducted in three branches: P1 - functionality, P2 - convenience, P3 - emotional background. Functionality is evaluated by type of work and sufficient level of Reliability, Responsibility, Availability and Sociability of each of them in relation to all applications. Convenience is estimated by means of survey of customers by means of questioning on the website by criteria (leaves): comfort, the interface, conflict situations, feedback, emergency situations and functionality Emotional background is assessed by analyzing changes in the emotional background of communication and is based on the content analysis of the text. All messages from the user are considered to be text. The proposed tree-like information model of structure construction of indicators makes it possible to assess the quality of services in the field of ISUP support at the enterprises of the radio-electronic industry.

As a part of the concern to the grass root society, Bogor Agricultural University had been established family empowerment station (Posdaya) the model of community development since 2007. The purpose of Posdaya is to increase the capacity of grass root society to fulfil their need of live by their social capital development. For this purposes the action research was done to explore the appropriate strategy for social facilitation approach in developing their capacity in education, health, economy, and environment. Until 2010, there was 106 Posdaya at Bogor, Cianjur, and Sukabumi area. Posdaya Bina Sejahtera Kelurahan Pasir Mulya Bogor was one of a good example in developing Posdaya that has been established at 8<sup>th</sup> May 2007. In the initiative phase, several activities had been done, included survey of the potency of community development, mini-workshop, meeting, training, coordinating, and empowering. In the implementation phase, several result had been yielded included organizational establishment, action plan, readiness of cadre, core activities development in education (pre-school and moving library), health services (post health services, geriatric health services, children family planning), economy (<em>syari’ah</em> microfinance institutionalization, small business for food production, and handy-craft), environment (environmental based agribusiness and household waste management). Action research concluded that Posdaya was empowerment strategy in developing grass root society by bottom up program on their self-reliance capacity in using local and potential resources. Posdaya was the institutionalization of social capital that relevant to the need of grass root society in developing education, health, economy, and environment. By these approach Posdaya considered as a proved model of community development in developing both physical and non physical of the society.

We consider the problem of collaborative decision making of the production process at airlines (CDM) in dynamically changing conditions of occurrence of emergency situations that make changes in the action plan. In the production process, due to the different orientation of the tasks to be solved, the solution may require a large or small number of possible variant solutions. The article presents a concrete example of such a situation affecting the conventional three services of the aviation complex, each with its own interests in the overall production process. The solution to this problem is the only option in favor of the overall production process. For this purpose, several designations and assumptions have been introduced, the list of which can be supplemented. Dynamic priorities are defined for each participant of the process. Optimization of collaborative decision-making can be achieved either by a simple search for solutions, or by using a genetic algorithm that allows you to get a suboptimal solution that meets the requirements of the participants in the process using a smaller number of iterations in real time. In this example, we consider a situation that occurs in a real enterprise due to bad weather conditions. Thus, dynamic priorities are assigned based on a multiplicative form for delayed flights, considering the interests of participants in the process, private criteria are formed for ranking flights at each step of rescheduling, and a genetic algorithm is applied. As a result, we obtained four solutions to the disruption caused by external factors. The first three options correspond to the interests of three parties concerned, and the fourth one is consolidated. All the solutions were different, which indicates the need for an objective and reasonable decision-making apparatus for joint management of the production process. The proposed mathematical apparatus has this ability and prospects for implementation.

The Electrokit is an initiative created by the IDB to strengthen transformation and continuous improvement of electric utilities in the LAC region. The Electrokit is organized in 16 activities that are common to most electricity utilities. This publication presents the indicators and best practices related to Electricity Loss Reduction. The aim of the toolkit is to provide power utilities, policy and decision-makers access to best practices, current trends, and expertise to: (i) identify challenges, develop a strategy and action plan for addressing them; and (ii) support utilities to be more sustainable, efficient, improve customer experience and accelerate innovation to stay ahead of the rapidly sector transformation.

The purpose of this Action Research study is to explore students' perceptions of their experience in an Academic Support Program[i] (ASP) implemented in a Chilean university to align students' lack of competencies to the minimum required to be able to succeed. Focus groups were held with 21 participants who revealed that the ASP increased their self-confidence and academic achievement. However, students' level of awareness regarding the benefits of the ASP needs to be improved to promote their participation. The findings will generate an action plan to improve students' learning outcomes and well-being.   [i] Academic Support Program

This chapter aims at presenting the results of the research carried out as part of the action research project concerning knowledge management and knowledge sharing in a public institution. As a research subject, a public cultural institution in Poland was selected. The methods used during the implementation of the research include observations, interviews, questionnaire surveys, and document analysis. The chapter presents the course of the research process, a diagnosis of problems, and challenges of the institution under study as regards project knowledge management, analysis of results, and recommendations. The principal result of the study is the developed action plan that contains an overview description of the proposed change and suggestions for solutions for the diagnosed challenge. It also illustrated that action research is a research approach supporting project management processes in public organizations. The theoretical background for considerations undertaken in the work are the concepts of project knowledge management and sharing knowledge on the implemented projects.
