There are many challenges faced by the teachers of English in SMA Karya Ibu Palembang. The challenges was come from the students and the facilities in the school.The aims of this study were to find out how the teachers’ challenges in teaching English, and to find out the the strategies in dealing the challenges. The participants of this study were the teachers of English of SMA Karya Ibu Palembang. The writer used qualitative research in this study. Interview was used to collect the data. Meanwhile, in order to find out the challenges that made the teachers were difficult in teaching, the data gained from interview was analyzed by using thematic analysis. The findings indicated It was found that there were five factors that made the teachers were difficult in teaching English.This study shows that the teachers were challenged by limited mastery of teaching methods, over-crowded class, inadequate facilities and resources. On the other hand, the other challenges coming from students’ side including lack of vocabulary mastery, low concentration, lack of motivation, pronunciation problem, and speaking problem.  In order to overcome those problem, there are some strategies that is used by the teachers in teaching English. First, applying various teaching methods and techniques. Second, the teacher used of available resources and facilities. The third is giving motivational feedback

The purpose of this study was to implementation lecturers’ knowledge about effective classroom and their classroom practices for teaching English. It was also knowing the correspondence between lecturers’ knowledge and the practices. This study designed using qualitative case study approach. The data was obtained using multiple-choice typed test, observation checklist, and interview. The subjects were four English lecturers and their cadets as supporting subject. The data obtained was analyzed using interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman. The data revealed that the subjects had variety of knowledge about classroom ; one of them had sufficient knowledge , another one showed average result and the other two were emerging. In their classroom practice, two lecturers performed effective classroom skill, but the other two showed average effort in managing their class. For the correspondence, it was found that there were three group of lecturers; the first group has sufficient knowledge and applied it simultaneously, the second group has average knowledge but applied it in more effective ways, and the third group has emerging knowledge and applied it likely to be the same as their knowledge in the classroom practice.

The aim of this study was to find out the challenges faced by teachers of English in teaching English at pesantren (Islamic boarding schools). This study was qualitative research with a case study approach. The participants of this study were two teachers of English at pesantren in MUBA regency. To find out the challenges faced by the teachers in teaching English, the data gained from observation and interviews were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The findings indicated that there were five challenges faced by the teachers of English in teaching English: 1) improving students’ motivation; 2) improving students’ language competence; 3) managing over-crowded class; 4) managing limited time; and 5) facing lack of supporting facilities. Implications of the findings are also discussed.

Arabic is the language of Muslim’s holy book, and reading  it is obligatory for Muslims. In Islamic education, Arabic is the language that should be mastered as a means of understanding the original texts of the source of Islamic law. One of the important thing in learning Arabic is the method. Zam-Zam Muhammadiyyah Modern Islamic Boarding School implements a diffent model and method of learning Arabic compared to other Islamic boarding schools in the district of Cilongok. This is a qualitative research, through a case study using interview, observation and documentation techniques for collecting data and interactive analysis for analying data. The findings of this research are three models of Arabic learning in Pondok Pesantren. The first model is khiwar or muhadatsah, the second is mufrodat walls intended to make students familiar with Arabic vocabulary, and the third is Lughoh. The method and model of Arabic learning in the institution as described above is a combined method. There are at least three methods used, i.e. Communicative Problem-Based Learning Method, Audiolingual Method, and Grammar-Translation Method.

This research was descriptive qualitative research aimed to describe the sewing training implementation for heterogeneous learning citizens methods and techniques of learning. Participants in this study were heads of administrative sub-sections, instructors and sewing training citizens learning. This research was conducted at UPTD Bengkulu Work Training on 10 to 31 March 2020. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations and documentation. The data were analyzed and validated using triangulation data validity technique. From research results, the sewing training instructors apply lecture learning methods, question and answer learning methods, discussion learning methods, demonstration learning methods, group teaching learning methods and individual teaching learning methods. The instructional methods applied by instructors to heterogeneous learning citizens was different, namely by applying group teaching methods with participatory coaching learning techniques. Keywords: sewing training, learning citizens, heterogeneous.

This paper explores self-plagiarism in three different articles that reported results of the same research project on reading in a foreign language. This article follows the qualitative research method and an exploratory case study was used. Results support that both inadequate paraphrasing and adequate paraphrasing were given. Regarding inadequate paraphrasing some similar words and ideas were found. On the other hand, using different authors in a specific idea, having different numbers of words in a common issue, and being versatile to present information might lead to adequate paraphrasing. Conclusions suggest that a dialog between editors and authors must be given in order to clear self-plagiarism up. Finally, conclusions also suggest that editors should consider the inclusion of some similar information in articles written by the same author or the same research members

The purpose of this study is to describe and reveal the impact of excessive smartphone use, which then leads to phubbing. This research study was conducted in May 2020 on 30 students of Uin Sunan Kalijaga as respondents or research subjects. This type of research is qualitative research and interviews with all research subjects, and literature review. The results of the study were recorded that 92% of 27 respondents revealed that a phubber did not give appreciation and was more likely to underestimate the other person. So, planting and practicing Pancasila values in everyday life is very important to carry out. This is so that each individual can fortify and organize himself against wise smartphone use. Then it is hoped that through this research study, students as the nation's next generation will realize the impact of excessive smartphone use on social life.

Since its establishment in 2018, Christian education management has begun to develop continuously in the educational context of Indonesia. However, it still requires studying more. Accordingly, this research aims to investigate how the department of Christian education management may be developed at the Christian higher education. The qualitative research, in particular, a case study was conducted to investigate the topic. Seven participants were involved and a manual book of Christian educational management department was used as the source of data. Based on the result of the study, it was found four themes that need to pay attention seriously in order to develop further the department of Christian educational management in Christian higher education, namely vision, mission, purpose, curriculum, collaboration, and alumnus. On the other side, for improving the knowledge on the management of Christian education organizations, contributions of this study for further research, practitioners and policy-makers are provided AbstrakSemenjak berdirinya pada tahun 2018, manajemen pendidikan Kristen telah mulai berkembang secara berkelanjutan pada konteks pendidikan Indonesia. Namun, bidang tersebut masih membutuhkan pengkajian lebih lanjut. Sekaitan dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi bagaimana program studi manajemen pendidikan Kristen dapat dikembangkan di pergururuan tinggi Kristen. Penelitian kualitatif, sebuah studi kasus, dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi topik tersebut. Sebanyak tujuh informan dilibatkan dan sebuah buku pedoman Prodi manajemen pendidikan Kristen digunakan sebagai sumber data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, studi ini menemukan bahwa terdapat beberapa tema penting yang perlu menjadi perhatian serius untuk pengembangan sebuah program studi manajemen pendidikan Kristen di perguruan tinggi Kristen, yakni visi, misi, tujuan kurikulum, kerja sama, dan lulusan. Di lain pihak, untuk peningkatan pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan organisasi-organisasi pendidikan Kristen, kontribusi studi ini untuk peneliti selanjutnya, praktisi, dan pengambil kebijakan disajikan.

Kemudian data dianalisa menggunakan teknik analisa induktif berdasarkan tipologi data dan konsep sebelum melakukan interpretasi. Pendidikan berbasis <em>T}areqat </em><em>Qa&gt;diriyah wa&gt;n Naqsyaba&gt;ndiyah</em> adalah bimbingan, pengajaran dan pelatihan yang dilakukan oleh <em>murs}hid, </em>guru, <em>T}areqat </em><em>Qa&gt;diriyah wa&gt;n Naqsyaba&gt;ndiyah</em> terhadap murid yang berlangsung sepanjang hayat untuk mensucikan jiwa, menjernihkan hati dengan mendekatkan diri kepada Allah SWT. Murid adalah seseorang yang masuk <em>T}areqat Qa&gt;diriyah wa&gt;n Naqsyaba&gt;ndiyah</em> dan telah berbaiat kepada guru/ murs}hid. Adapun tujuannya adalah pendekatan diri kepada Allah <em>(taqarru&gt;b ila&gt; Alla&gt;h</em><em>)</em>, pembersihan hati <em>(tasfiyah al-qalb)</em><em> </em>dan penyucian jiwa <em>(tazkiyat al-Nafs). </em>Materi ajarannya meliputi empat ajaran pokok yaitu; 1) Kesempurnaan suluk, 2) Akhlaq Murid, 3) <em>Dhikir,</em>dan <em> </em>4) <em>Mura&gt;qa&gt;bah</em><em>.</em> Dan metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab, demonstrasi, penugasan, <em>mujahadah</em>, <em>tajribah</em>, dan <em>khalwat/ ’uzlah</em>. Terdapat tiga pola pengajaran yang disampaikan di ponpes ini, pertama yaitu pendidikan, kedua <em>risalah</em> dan yang ketiga <em>kewad}ifahan</em>. Pendidikan yang diberikan di pondok pesantren ini merupakan kolaborasi ilmu kitab kuning dengan pengetahuan umum. The education based upon <em>T}areqat </em><em>Qa&gt;diriyah wa&gt;n Naqsyaba&gt;ndiyah</em> is a long-life guidance, learning, and training under a <em>murs}hid</em> of <em>T}areqat </em><em>Qa&gt;diriyah wa&gt;n Naqsyaba&gt;ndiyah</em> in purpose of purifying soul and cleansing heart along with bringing the soul closer to Allah SWT. Disciple in the <em>T}areqat Qa&gt;diriyah wa&gt;n Naqsyaba&gt;ndiyah</em> has taken an oath to the teacher / murs}hid. The purpose of his training are taking closer to Allah <em>(taqarru&gt;b ila&gt; Alla&gt;h</em><em>)</em>, cleansing the heart <em>(tasfiyah al-qalb)</em><em> </em>and purifying soul <em>(tazkiyat al-Nafs).</em> The etaching materials involves four main teachings, such as 1) the perfection of suluk, 2) disciples’ practices of virtue, 3) remembering the Almighty, and 4) <em>Mura&gt;qa&gt;bah</em><em>.</em> Teaching methods include lecturing, question and answer, demosntration, tasking, , <em>mujahadah</em>, <em>tajribah</em>, and <em>khalwat/ ’uzlah</em>. There are three types of learning in this pesantren, such as education, <em>risalah (messaging), </em>and<em> </em><em>kewad}ifahan</em>. The education in this pesantren is a collaboration between the yellow scipture learning and secular science. The other aspects of education are the same as that of in pesantren with <em>T}areqat </em><em>Qa&gt;diriyah wa&gt;n Naqsyaba&gt;ndiyah</em><em> </em>style.</p>

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran resiliensi yang ditinjau dari teori Grotberg. Sumber resiliensi, sebagaimana dinyatakan oleh Grotberg, dibagi menjadi 3 dimana terdapat sumber I am, I have, dan I can. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe penelitian studi kasus intrinsik. Pemilihan partisipan menggunakan purposive sampling dengan metode screening resilience. Partisipan berjumlah 3 remaja perempuan yang terdiri dari seorang remaja berusia 14 tahun dan 2 remaja berusia 15 tahun. Proses pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik theory-driven. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ketiga partisipan memiliki bentuk coping stress yang berbeda untuk menuju resiliensi. Partisipan 3 memiliki resiliensi paling menonjol di antara partisipan lain, dan meskipun terdapat banyak adversity yang dialami, partisipan 3 menunjukkan resiliensi yang tinggi melalui indikator I am. This study aimed to overview the Grotberg's resilience theory. The source of resilience, as stated by Grotberg, is divided into 3 which include "I am", "I have", and "I can". This was qualitative intrinsic case study. The participants were chosen by purposive sampling with resilience screening methods. There were 3 female adolescent participants; one aged 14 years old and the other two aged 15 years old. The data were collected using interviews and analyzed using theory-driven thematic analysis. The result of this study indicated that the participants had different forms of coping stress towards resilience. Participant 3 was the most prominent among other participants, and although participant 3 experienced adversity, the participant demonstrated a high resilience as evidenced through the "I am" indicator.

The chapter deals with the discussion of the results of an experimentation run in two consecutive academic years within the classes of the graduate course “Instructional Technology” in the graduate course “Science of Education” at the University of Macerata, Italy. The IT course is programmed in the third year of the curriculum for “Social Educators” and the contribution reports the results of a case study related to a workshop activity in which students could find a further opportunity to identify different dimensions of relation among theoretical aspects and the potential practical/applied connotations in professional contexts. The workshop was structured as an experiential learning process in which the value of the digital storytelling as educational approach was a strategy adopted to foster the students' understanding toward the intercultural issues in terms of improvement of relationship by taking a prospective position oriented to the other.
