Kebijakan Promosi dari Universitas untuk mendapatkan mahasiswa baru merupakan hal yang vital bagi kelancaran proses penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru. Pihak lembaga perlu mengkaji dan melakukan analisis yang baik sebelum melakukan promosi. Di era sekarang, banyak media yang dapat dijadikan sebagai media promosi. Dengan berkembangnya cara penyebaran informasi serta banyaknya media pihak yang berkepentingan sudah seharusnya jeli mana yang mendapat prioritas lebih dari semua banyak lini media tempat promosi. Ketika tingkat prioritas sudah ditentukan maka upaya promosi akan menjadi lebih mudah dan lebih tepat sasaran. Akan tetapi penentuan tingkat prioritas tidak dapat dilakukan secara asal dan sembarangan. Perlu dilakukan pengkajian yang lebih dalam bukan hanya sekedar intuisi belaka. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh promosi dengan minat calon mahasiswa memilih AMIKOM sebagai universitas pilihan dengan acuan tiga variable yaitu sosial media, website, dan referensi alumni. Pengolahan data menggunakan software SPSS dan SPSS AMOS untuk mencari validitas, reliabilitas dan uji hipotesis. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah semua variable signifikan, dengan urutan dari nilai tertinggi ke terendah adalah Sosial Media, Referensi Alumni, dan Website. Kata Kunci—Promosi, Validitas, Reliabilitas, HipotesisPromotion policy from the University to get new students is vital for the smooth process of admission of New Students. The institution needs to review and conduct a good analysis before conducting a promotion. In this era, many media can be used as promotional media. With the development of ways of disseminating information and the many media interested parties it should be observant which gets priority over all the many lines of media wherepromotion. When the priority level has been determined, the promotion effort will be easier and more targeted. However, the determination of priority levels cannot be done arbitrarily and carelessly. Deeper studies need to be done not just mere intuition. This study discusses the effect of promotion with the interest of prospective students choosing AMIKOM as the university of choice with three variables reference, namely social media, website, and alumni reference. Data processing using SPSS and SPSS AMOS software to find validity, reliability, and hypothesis testing. The results obtained are all significant variables, with the order from highest to lowest values are Social Media, Alumni Reference, and Website.Keywords— Promotion, Validity, Reliability, Hypothesis

This study was conducted to determine opinions of a group of academicians about social media communication. The study was designed as a descriptive study in the qualitative design using semi-structured questions. The study was conducted with a total of 12 academicians in the 24-48 age range in the health faculty of a state university in Turkey. As a result of the study, two main themes were created as positive sides of communication through social media and negative sides of communication through social media. Determination of opinions of academicians about social media communication may be important for planning the curriculum including both positive and negative effects of social media communication in the university education.   Keywords: Academician; communication; education; social media communication.

Organisational sustainability is closely linked to the organisation's brand image in the eyes of stakeholders and the wider community. Each organisation can build a positive image through effective communication or innovative marketing models, one of which is social media. Social media is the most appropriate means of communication and marketing for universities to recruit prospective students. This study analysed the role of knowledge-based variables in building higher education sustainability, as universities are knowledge institutions and always maintain or develop knowledge through research activities. Knowledge-based variables include Intellectual Capital, University Management Intelligence, and Social Media. Based on this, this research aimed to find out the significance of knowledge-based variables in the sustainability of private universities in East Java. This research focused on human behaviour by using a survey with a quantitative approach and data collected through a questionnaire. This study concludes that Social Media Marketing does not reduce the impact of intellectual capital on private universities' sustainability in East Java. Social Media Marketing does not reduce the impact of the University Managerial Intelligence on the sustainability of private universities in East Java.

Politeknik Negeri Tanah Laut in order to improve the new student admission, has adopted numerous type of promotion strategies. The strategies are among others high school visits, banner displays, brochure distribution, and promotions via social media. However, those strategies adopted by Politeknik Negeri Tanah Laut are admittedly costly. Application of Selecting Promotion Strategy Enrollment of New Students in the Politeknik Negeri Tanah Laut is an application used to help determine what kind of promotional strategy is likely to be more accurate and more planned as the guidance as well as the reference in order to increase the enrollment percentage of new students. The determination of such promotional media’s outcomes is supported by applying the method of K-Means Clustering to do the classification of promotional media data obtained from the result of students’ questionnaires. Obviously such thing becomes a solution to help determine the promotional strategy at Politeknik Negeri Tanah Laut.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and design the application of e-service portal to help Marketing BINUS university to improve the speed and ease of service for Prospect students with the integration of transaction and information services required prospective students, and can be presented in a personalized to adds its own interesting experience for user. It would create a competitive advantage of the University which also potentially triggering an increase in the number of intake students. The methodology used is the method of analysis, which reviews and interviews conducted directly to the field, distributing questionnaires, observing and analyzing the data and needs, and using the design method, which includes design of business models, user interface design and database design. Results to be achieved is a web portal, where the system can facilitate prospective students to obtain the desired information services in full, and with a presentation that can be personalized and make transactions easier and faster. Conclusions obtained are BINUS University can take advantage of e-service in a web portal for prospective new students as supporting its competitive advantage in the utilization of information technology and support one of its primary missions to create service excellence in all fields.

Social media is a tool for connecting between many people around the world. And many universities using social media especially Facebook. In Indonesia, the universities now starting to use social media as a marketing tool to attract prospective new students. The purpose of this study is to find out the habits of social media users at universities in Indonesia and to find out why they are often active on social media. We used qualitative method to analysis the current activities in social media of universities in Indonesia. And we choose five universities as sample for this research, that we selected random from top 10 universities ranking in Indonesia, criteria by QS. Therefore, the analysis of this research was carried out using the Netvizz platform to find out the importance of Facebook social media activities to attract the interest of prospective students. At the beginning step of this analysis is to enter the ID of the Facebook number, where the ID is required to be entered into the Netvizz platform. So, based on the results of this analysis can be seen the activities of university users on Facebook.

The development of the era demands quality human resources. For that need to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to be ready to compete in the world of work. Vocational High School has many skills programs. Examples of skills programs in Vocational High School are Computer Network Engineering, Audio and Video Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building, Drawing Techniques, Motorcycle Engineering, Installation and Power Engineering, systems that can assist in the decision-making process of prospective students. The grouping system will be created using the Fuzzy C-Means method. Grouping majors using fuzzy c-means algorithm is expected to help prospective students choose majors from the many majors that exist. This is done so that prospective students do not experience difficulties in learning activities, can develop optimally and is expected to work in accordance with the expertise that has been owned, so that ultimately can improve the quality of output and outcome of vocational education. The results obtained in this study in the form of data grouped based on 3 clusters, so that prospective students can choose the majors in accordance with the selected cluster.

Higher Education Institutes across the world have started using social media to reach out to the prospective students as well as to interact with current students and alumni. Social media improves the communication on one hand and helps in promotional and development activities on the other. Present work explores the integration of social media in different processes in Higher Educational Institutes. A student enters the institute with admission process and exits after completion of degree. While on the campus, a student is involved in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. At the same time, a student participates in the communication with the fellow students and other corporate and social forums. In all of these activities, social media can play a prominent and vital role. However, the success of social media roles depends upon; how the different stakeholders are engaged. A comprehensive study has been carried out to identify the role of social media in different activities of the higher education institutes. These activities range from looking for the new students, engaging them on the campus and maintaining communication after they leave the campus. Implications from teaching-learning, administrative, marketing and communication perspective have been identified. A framework has been proposed to integrate the specific social media channels in different processes in the higher education institutes. The framework will be very much useful in developing successful social media campaigns for higher educational institutes as well as to effectively engage the stakeholders.

Bidikmisi scholarship is a government program to help prospective new students who are academically capable and economically incapable. The Bidikmisi scholarship is a form of tuition assistance and living expenses. Starting in 2018 Budi Darma University began accepting new students through the bidikmisi scholarship path, admission of new students through the bidikmisi path must meet the requirements set by the government. Determination of whether or not a prospective new student is a recipient of bidikmisi based on report cards, school performance, results of selection tests and interviews. During this time the organizers and managers of bidikmisi at Budi Darma University have had difficulty determining prospective students who are truly eligible to receive bidikmisi scholarships in addition to the very limited quota and the large number of prospective students receiving bidikmisi scholarships as well as the value of each criteria for prospective students receiving bidikmisi which is almost the same or similar to one another. To make it easier to determine prospective students receiving the Bidikmisi scholarship, the K-Medoids algorithm is used. K-Medoids algorithm is one of the algorithms in data mining to group data based on the closest criteria value
