Stands on Globalization

In Jason Inch’s TED talk on Future Globalization is advising that companies need to understand their consumer base in a rapidly changing global business environment. It is clear for everybody that globalization plays one role in this change; however, there are a few variables that are forming the term of globalization, such as mass migration, geopolitical orientation, the Internet and its way of easing communication. Knowledge about cultural differences is a crucial thing and even more important than it was ever before. Therefore corporations are obliged to also take economic and political variables into account if they want to target t heir respective audience. Moreover, Inch says that companies should be ensured that cultural understanding needs to be trained as well as languages, knowledge about religion, values and “most importantly” about the culinary delights in a given country. Nowadays, it is about transcreating and not about translating when it comes to doing business on an international basis. “Transcreating” is important because of the fact that we are now living in an interconnected world where only translating would not be effective, you have to make things understandable for everybody. Inch also stipulates that cultural awareness is determining success or failure in today’s world. People should build bridges by having that kind of knowledge and not being afraid and run away be cause they have a lack in intercultural communication. In my opinion, Inch is right in what he is saying; everybody nowadays needs to have intercultural knowledge to drive business forward. It is not only a good asset to have intercultural knowledge; it is a necessity to have it.

The article describes the cultural framework of organizational behavior of Germans and Poles. Presented attitudes and behavior patterns according to the concept of Lewis, Hofstede, Trompenaars and Hampden - Turner, Gesteland, Mole and Tomalin and Nicks. Cultural knowledge of partners and the respect of fundamental principles in the civilized world of business is the foundation of building relationships and good business for both sides. The following are barriers to intercultural communication and ways of overcoming them. The author defends that the big cultural differences need not be an obstacle to doing business.

The 21st century global business environment is more diverse and interconnected than ever before. As organizations continue to expand their global reach, business professionals often find themselves having to navigate challenging cultural and religious terrain, which they may not be prepared for. While it is impossible for someone to learn the intricacies of all cultures and religions throughout the world, one can seek to learn about some of the more prominent cultures and religions of the world – particularly those they have a high likelihood of engaging with at some point in his or her business career. This paper examines Buddhism, a prevalent religion throughout many parts of the world, and discusses how its culture and beliefs are manifested through Buddhist business practices. Particular focus is placed on business in Thailand, the country with the highest percentage of Buddhists. The purpose of this paper is to provide business professionals with a basic understanding of the history of Buddhism, an overview of the major beliefs of Buddhists, and to present information that will assist business professionals in successfully navigating intercultural affairs when doing business with Buddhists in Thailand or around the world.

Corporations are legal entities operating within the boundaries of society. They have social responsibility both for business and moral reasons. The responsibility encompasses economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic aspects and in the context of deterritorialised global business environment, the responsibility assumes wider ramifications especially in the context of diminishing role of governments and ascending role of corporations. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is now an offshoot of the realization that corporation is answerable for the consequences of its operations. Ethical way of doing business for social and economic sustainability is inherent in the thinking of seers of ancient India who proclaimed for universal peace and happiness. The essence of CSR can be traced to Rig Veda which pronounced that a person who enjoys himself being totally oblivious of society is taken over by sin. The sense of charity, sacrifice, dharmic way of doing business and the ideas of live and let live permeate throughout the literature of ancient India. The search for spiritual routes strengthens the convictions towards CSR and for preserving the planet for future generations. An attempt is made in this article to discuss the nature of CSR in the global perspective and try to search for the roots in the cultural milieu of ancient India and trying to integrate the ancient Indian spiritual thoughts for the modern arguments favoring corporate responsibility. The intention here is to strengthen the theoretical thought structure with spiritual inputs for better appreciation and promotion of CSR. The aim of the article is to get insights in to ancient wisdom for connecting spiritual linkage to the theoretical edifice of the CSR and hence the methodology is exploratory in nature aiming to understand the concepts in a better way.

Global business intelligence will struggle to live up to its potential if it fails to take into account, and accurately interpret, cultural differences. This paper supports this assertion by considering the concept of culture, explaining its importance in the business intelligence process, especially in foreign markets, and demonstrating that attention to culture is currently inadequate in most international business intelligence efforts. Without a tool capable of modeling social interaction in disparate cultures, BI efforts will under perform when extended to the global arena. The Cultural Simulation Modeler is examined as a means of enhancing essential cultural awareness. The core components of the modeler are explained, as are the limitations of automated information gathering and analysis systems.

The Internet as a communication medium, with its possibilities and its rapid development, revolutionized the way of doing business, so much so that it pushed a large number of economists to declare that, in the coming years of doing business through information technology, will be one of the most preferred opportunities for businesses and consumers across the globe. The main purpose of this paper is to identify the opportunities that businesses have to influence the economic development in the Republic of Kosovo, through their ability to generate new jobs, increase exports, and contribute to improving the living standards of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. Kosovo, using the Internet, as a contemporary and competitive form of business development. In order to realize such an environment, of course we have to consider two main issues, one to recognize and identify the problems that business has and another issue, how much human and material capacity Kosovo has, to provide a favorable environment. doing business online. The study realizes the first issue, which means that, in a scanned way, we tell the decision-making institutions that here are the administrative barriers that concern the business, here are the obstacles that unfairly tire the business, etc. The second issue should be asked by the relevant institutions and it should be noted that, if we want a success and sustainable economic development, then Kosovo should also provide an attractive business environment by applying the Internet.We conclude that favorable conditions must be created for the development of business and the Internet, in order for it to be efficient and sustainable, which is a necessary precondition for achieving the main goals of a sustainable economy, which contributes to the generation of countries. new jobs, improving the welfare and living standards of citizens in the Republic of Kosovo.

The twenty-first century business environment is expanding and increasingly attracting the interest of countries from developed and developing nations of the world. As countries of the world become increasingly interdependent and interconnected because of global market and diverse consumer needs, it is critically important that participating countries and their organizations understand and appreciate one anothers cultural differences in order to ensure growth and sustainability in international business. Recent studies have traced the failure of some international business ventures to three significant factors: lack of intercultural skills and competence, inability to communicate effectively at a global level, and failure to practice acceptable etiquette in business negotiations. Therefore, businesses from different countries need to appreciate the importance of understanding the cultures and values of their counterparts as well as develop intercultural communication sensitivity and decorum. This paper then is an attempt toward analyzing the significance and role of intercultural communication and etiquette in international business. Recommendations for appropriate practices and acceptable conducts among nations are provided.

Cultural assimilation and intercultural awareness has been an important hub of modern language and communication studies, underlining a shift that reflects a greater significance of the inseparability of language and culture, and the need to prepare students for effective intercultural communication to thrive in a global work environment. A thriving global workplace requires effective communication skill across cultures in this era of globalization and mass migration. Under the tutelage of such backdrop, this article addresses the terrain of adopting intercultural awareness in EFL classroom teaching/learning and aims at linking culture with language in pursuit of excellence in borderless effective communication. The study, in other words, investigated the linguistic aspects that could be affected by certain cultural dimensions (e.g., beliefs, traditions, taboo words, habits, and norms, religion, social factors, etc.) in intercultural communication. This paper uses a questionnaire device to receive some university teachers’ self-reported feedback. This article maintains qualitative and quantitative research methodology. The analytical research result shows that in teaching English, it is necessary to incorporate and develop aspects of cross-cultural awareness as a part of course curriculum to immerse students in effective intercultural communicative competence (ICC).

Research paper is summarizing results of project focus on business models and strategies of startups. The research was focused on identification of business models and strategies of startups. Research sample was creating from more than 70 startups at the beginning of the research and we finished research 3 years later with 53 startups. This research paper is partial output that analyze startups in global business environment in terms of doing business abroad and making strategic steps. The aim of paper is identify basic strategic steps and decision making of startups through selected indicators such as market presence and entry modes focusing on the last stage of research. Startups business model were also analyze and part of the output is mapping the shifts in business model Canvas of startups.

Effective business communication requires a certain degree of cross-cultural awareness and tolerance both on the ethnic and organizational levels. Communication patterns vary from culture to culture according to values, beliefs and traditional rules for interacting with others, which makes up a learned behavior. These deep-rooted factors lie inside cultural differences and change very slowly if ever as compared to those which are more likely to be on the surface, like food, tastes, art. The latter are more easily adopted or erased in today’s global economy. The purpose of the study is to show that the internal traits compose different layers of metaphoricity in the language and, if understated, may lead to complexities or failures in business communication. Based on the experience of working in an international environment, which is analyzed by many scientists, and on the results of the study performed it can be noted that cross-cultural awareness and tolerance imply a variety of intelligences beyond (IQ), including emotional, cultural, social, and collective types of intelligence.
