The village is an integral part of cities in Indonesia since its inception. Each village is unique because it represents historical uniqueness, diverse physical patterns, complex and dynamic social systems. Jakarta City as the largest city in Indonesia has its own challenges in managing the Urban Villages. One of the urban villages in Jakarta is Tanjung Gedong Village, located in RT.05 / RW.08 Tomang Village, Grogol Petamburan District. The selection of RT.05 / RW.08 as a PKM activity partner was because the location of the target partner was around the UNTAR campus, so the PKM activity became a tangible manifestation of UNTAR's contribution to the surrounding environment. The Proposing Team has also conducted PKM activities at the Partner's location, so it is hoped that the proposed program will be sustainable. Tanjung Gedong Village RT.05 / RW.08 Tomang Village has an area of 1.3 hectares with a population of 300 people (60 households). Problems owned by Partners to create a healthy and comfortable environment for residents: First, spatial planning is not optimal and flexible to accommodate a variety of social activities from the community. Secondly, the partners currently lack green open space. The proposed solution is the Proposed Green Village Structuring Concept by involving active participation from Partners (RW-RT leadership, Residents) using 3 approaches, namely: Green Planning and Design, Green Open Space and Green community. The proposed Green Village concept is expected to overcome the problems faced by partners so that a healthy and comfortable residential environment for residents is achievedABSTRAK:Kampung merupakan bagian integral kota-kota di Indonesia sejak awal pembentukannya. Development planning in the city of Banda Aceh is still experiencing various problems and shortcomings both in terms of the substantial process of implementation and supervision. This is because there is still a lack of regional planning apparatus both in terms of quantity and quality and not yet optimal public consultation in taking government policy in development that directly impacts the community, then development plan deliberations and official head work unit forums as a mechanism for community involvement in planning development is not yet up to and maximal. Commitment to the political communication of the mayor of Banda Aceh wants to build the community of the city of Banda Aceh as a model of the civil city. This political commitment arose from the results of the geopolitical analysis, the natural conditions of the region, the Aceh provincial regional development policy and the national development vision, and the strong desire of the mayor himself. The Mayor of Paradigama in building the city of Banda Aceh referred to the concept of building the Prophet in Medina.

The old downtown area of Banda Aceh holds high historical value, as evidenced by the many historic relics that still survive as a historic object in the region. The existence of these ancient artifacts can complement the historical narrative as well as the authentic proof of the identity of the city of Banda Aceh. The central area of Banda Aceh requires interesting public spaces to make the existence of these historic assets more prominent as an element of the attraction of this historic area. This study aims to strengthen the identity of the downtown area of Banda Aceh through an architectural design concept in a potential public corridor that has not been optimally utilized. The idea is to assemble historic spaces in this corridor to make it easier and convenient for pedestrians to access. This research is done by recording visual image of open space in public corridor area to capture visual picture and to know physical quality of public spaces in the location. Increased visual accentuation in the public corridors of the downtown area of Banda Aceh can form visual sequences that provide different spatial experiences. The experience of this space arises from the historical space-themed space phases supported by the gradual display of space elements. The key to success in strengthening the identity of this corridor is the selection of the design of appropriate elements of space, in accordance with the character of space that can represent the values and historical identity of the region.

The problem in this study is related to the number of developments, especially those aimed at their designation, which is not by the existing regional spatial plan. This is because many developments are located in disaster-prone areas, coastal border areas, and protected areas. This also triggers changes in land use that are quite large from time to time. This study aims to determine the use of utilization with a regional spatial plan. This study uses quantitative methods to determine developments based on data in the Sangihe Islands Regency, analyzing image data and knowing the level of suitability of land use with the RTRW. The method of analysis in this study uses a method of spatial analysis based on geographic information systems (GIS) using supervised classification, scoring, weighting, overlay. The variables in this study include land use, spatial planning, and adjustments. The results show that the land area in the Regional Spatial Plan is suitable for land use in particular for an area of 3,202.65 hectares and not suitable for an area of 17,946.03 hectares from the total area of the existing land use.

abstrakUndang-undang Republik Indonesia No 26 Tahun 2007 tentang Penataan Ruang, menetapkan harustersedia Ruang Terbuka Hijau sebesar 30% dari luas Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS). No.26 of 2007 on Spatial Planning determines that 30% of Watershed must be available for open spaces. TheRegulation of The Minister of Agragrian and Spatial Planning Number 16 of 2018 determines that 10% of openspaces must be available for private open spaces. It aims to improve the quality of environment in urban areasincluding the availability of infiltration, air freshening, and aesthetic aspects. However, not many Indonesians knowthis regulation. Even many developers do not pay attention to this aspect and house buyers do not know the openspace requirements for building or developing buildings. Most houses at Karanglo Indah Housing ( as a pilotproject, RT 8, RW 4) are still lack of open spaces as the green environment. This is because the yard is full ofbuildings. This Community Service aims to provide information to that community so that they understand theimportance of open space. Since the Community Service was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic which mustcomply with health protocols and physical distancing, the information is only given to the head of NeighborhoodAssociation, head of Family Welfare Group and head of a Group of ten families. The result of this activity is a pilotgreen environment as planting vegetable plants, both vertical and floating hydroponics and plants in polybags.Besides enlarging the green environment, this activity also supports food independence activities in the era ofCovid-19 pandemic.

Sustainable development has long been promoted as the best answer to the world’s environmental problems. This term has generated mass appeal as it implies that both the development of the built environment and its associated resource consumption can be achieved without jeopardising the natural environment. In the urban context, sustainability issues have been reflected in the promotion of sustainable urban development, which emphasises the sensible exploitation of scarce natural resources for urbanisation in a manner that allows future generations to repeat the process. This chapter highlights attempts to promote sustainable urban development through an integration of three important considerations: planning, development and the ecosystem. It highlights the fact that spatial planning processes were traditionally driven by economic and social objectives, and rarely involved promoting the sustainability agenda to achieve a sustainable urban future. As a result, rapid urbanisation has created a variety of pressures on the ecosystem upon which we rely. It is believed that the integration of the urban planning and development processes within the limitations of the ecosystem, monitored by a sustainability assessment mechanism, would offer a better approach to maintaining sustainable resource use without compromising urban development.

Abstract. Daud M, Bustam BM, Arifin B. 2019. A comparative study of carbon dioxide absorption capacity of seven urban forest plant species of Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 20: 3372-3379. Global warming has been a major issue affecting all parts of the world in recent years. One method of reducing the impact of global warming is through supporting the green open space. The city government of Banda Aceh, Indonesia has targetted as much as 30% of its area to the formation of green open space. The BNI urban forest is one example of the green open spaces in Banda Aceh. This research was conducted to know the carbon dioxide absorption capacity in seven selected tree species found in the urban forest. The method that has been applied was the explorative survey method with purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using linear regression and correlation analysis. The results showed that the highest ability of carbon dioxide absorption per leaf per hour was found in the Terminalia catappa (0.511 g/leaf/hour) and the lowest was found in the Calophyllum inophyllum (0.056 g/leaf/hour). While the highest carbon dioxide absorption per tree per hour was found in Pterocarpus indicus (4,642,293 g/tree/hour) and the lowest was found in Calophyllum inophyllum (162,640 g/tree/hour). The results of linear regression analysis showed that there was no strong correlation and no significant effect between leaf surface area and mass of carbohydrate, to capacity of carbon dioxide absorption in urban forest plants.
