LOW BACK PAIN IN ICU AND EMERGENCY UNIT NURSES AT SARI MUTIARA GENERAL HOSPITAL MEDAN

Introduction. The nurses who works at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Unit often suffering Low Back Pain (LBP) because they have high mobility and unergonomic condition. The purpose of this study were to identify the correlation among age, body mass index and working position of nurses with the low back pain who work in ICU and emergency unit at Sari Mutiara Indonesia general hospital. Methods. The data obtained was analyzed by analytic correlational with cross-sectional approach. The Sampel of this study was recruited with total sampling as 31 nurses. The data was analyzed by spearman correlation with α = 0.05. Result. The result of this study found that there was a signifi cant correlation between age with low back pain (r = 0.466 ; p <0.05). While body mass index and working position there was no signifi cantly correlation with low back pain ( r=0.195; p > 0.05 and r = - 0.172;p >0.05), respectively. Discussion. It can be recommended to occupational safety team to organize training the manner of working according to ergonomic standard, in addition to develope standar operating procedure for nurses in the hospital.Keywords : Risk factors, low back pain, nurse

Kejadian nyeri punggung bawah (NPB) di Indonesia bervariasi antara 7,6% sampai 37%, umumnya terjadi pada usia 45–60 tahun. NPB merupakan nyeri yang dirasakan daerah punggung bawah dan dapat terasa nyeri yang lokal maupun nyeri radikuler yang terasa di daerah lumbar atau lumbo-sakral. Tujuan penelitian ini mengidentifikasi faktor risiko keluhan nyeri punggung pada petugas pengumpul sampah di Kecamatan Bandung Wetan periode Maret–Juli 2018. Jumlah sampel 84 responden yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan analisis data menggunakan chi square. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki keluhan NPB sebanyak 75%. Kebiasaan merokok sedang 64%, indeks massa tubuh (IMT) normal 62%, masa kerja baru 99%, dan responden dengan beban kerja yang ringan 99%. Tidak terdapat hubungan kebiasaan merokok (p=0,811), IMT (p=0,735), beban kerja (p=0,081), dan masa kerja (p= 0,561) dengan keluhan nyeri punggung bawah. Simpulan, tidak terdapat hubungan kebiasaan merokok, IMT, beban kerja, dan masa kerja dengan keluhan nyeri punggung bawah pada petugas pengumpul sampah di Kecamatan Bandung Wetan. Terdapat faktor lain yang lebih berpengaruh terhadap NPB seperti posisi kerja dan lama kerja. LBP is a pain that is felt in the low back area. It could felt local and radicular pain in lumbar or lumbo-sacral area. The objectives of the study was to identify the risk factors of back pain complaints on garbage collectors in Bandung Wetan sub-district during March to June 2018. The subjects were 84 respondents and used simple random sampling technique. This research used observational analytical method with cross sectional approach and data analysis used chi square. The results of this study reveald that most respondents had 75% LBP complaints. Respondents with moderate smoking habits were 64%, respondents with normal body mass index (BMI) of 62%, respondents with a new work period of 99%, and respondents with a light workload of 99%. The results of statistical analysis showed that there were no correlation between smoking habits (p=0.811), BMI (p=0.735), workload (p=0.081) and years of work (p=0.561) with complaints of low back pain. Conclusions, there are no relationship between smoking habits, BMI, workload, and years of service with complaints of low back pain in officers of garbage collectors in Bandung Wetan Subdistrict. There are other factors that have more influence on LBP such as work position and duration of work.

Low back pain adalah rasa nyeri yang dirasakan pada punggung bawah yang sumbernya tulang belakang daerah spinal, otot, saraf, atau struktur lainnya disekitar daerah tersebut. Dari 10 perawat 6 perawat mengalami keluhan low back pain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor Keluhan Low back pain.Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional, pada 25 juni- 3 juli di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Selasih Pangkalan Kerinci. Penelitian dilakukan pada 30 perawat dengan kuesioner. Analisa data yang digunakan secara univariat,Hasil penelitian: 13 orang (43,3%) mengalami keluhan low back pain. Hasil uji bivariat terdapat hubungan antara sikap kerja, dan kebiasaan olahraga terhadap kejadian low back pain. Hasil analisis multivariate menunjukkan variable sikap kerja merupakan variable yang paling mempengaruhi kejadian low back pain deng nilai OR 43 kali. Dimana variable IMT merupakan counfounding terhadap variable sikap kerja dan kebiasaan olah raga dan variable kebiasaan olahraga merupakan counfounding terhadap variable IMT.Peneliti mengharapkan pihak Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Selasih Pangkalan Kerinci mengadakan seminar tentang sikap kerja yang baik, menjaga IMT karyawan <25 dan mengadakan kegiatan olah raga secara teratur di lingkungan Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Selasih Pangkalan Kerinci. Where the variable BMI is counfounding to variable working attitude and exercise habits and variable exercise habits is counfounding to variable IMT.Researchers expect the Regional General Hospital Basil Pangkalan Kerinci hold a seminar on good working attitude, keep IMT employees <25 and hold sports activities regular exercise in the District General Hospital Basil Pangkalan Kerinci.
