Digitization has slowly become the new conventional technique today offering multiple advantages, its application in the field of implantology and fixed prosthodontics has been time tested, and its gradually being utilized in removable prosthodontics also. Digitization allows digital surveying, designing the framework with components, and obtaining a 3D printed resin framework, which can be tried intraorally and cast using conventional techniques. This technology is time-saving, highly accurate, also allows digital archiving of casts. This case report presents rehabilitation of a partially edentulous mandibular arch opposing completely edentulous maxillary arch using digital technology and casting using conventional technique.

Objective: To report the oral rehabilitation of velopharyngeal insufficiency due to a congenital anatomic defect using an implant-retained speech-aid prosthesis. Case Report: A 65-year-old man with a diagnosis of complete unilateral cleft lip and palate on the left side with an unrepaired palate was examined. A removable partial denture with a speech bulb had been used for approximately 40 years. After primary care for gross caries and tooth mobility, an implant-retained obturator with a speech bulb was fabricated. Results and Conclusion: Improvement in mastication, speech, and velopharyngeal function was achieved with a satisfactory esthetic result.

Oral rehabilitation with free-end removable partial denture (RPD) is one of the major challenges in prosthodontic dentistry. The absence of a distal abutment produces undesirable RPD movement during masticatory function due to the high resilience of the residual ridge, which limits the denture efficiency and may damage the abutment teeth and bone over time. The advent of dental implants made possible to substitute the missing teeth with fixed implant-supported dentures as the first choice treatment to overcome such inconveniences. However, this indication may not be suitable for all patients due to financial, anatomical or systemic health conditions. Nevertheless it is possible to improve free extension RPD by using implants in the posterior edentulous ridge to achieve biological, biomechanical, physiological and social benefits. This article aims to present a case report on oral rehabilitation in which a RPD was made combined with an implant for posterior support in a sizeable edentulous ridge. The patient appreciated the retention improvement and the aesthetic result. The combination of a RPD with a posterior implant is an alternative treatment for cases in which implant-supported fixed prosthesis is not indicated, reducing the displacement and minimizing the limitations of the free-end devices.

Cleft lip and/or cleft palate defects often result in a functional deficiency in the patient’s chewing, speech ability, and aesthetic appearance, usually demanding multidisciplinary effort for addressing the aesthetic and functional patient’s requirements. This clinical report describes the planned oral rehabilitation of a 46-year-old woman with unilateral cleft lip defect based on the patient’s peculiarities and age. Due to limitations concerning bone grafts and implant procedures, as well as orthodontic treatment, the prosthodontic rehabilitation using the metal-ceramic fixed partial denture was chosen. The treatment adequately reestablished the aesthetic and functional activities, positively impacting the patient’s quality of life.

Fixed prosthodontics is a zestful and progressing branch because of the numerous advantages that it has over removable prosthesis. The oral cavity for each scenario has its own complications and hence every individual case has its own approach keeping in mind the comfort, function, and aesthetics of the patient. In some cases, we come across an edentulous space on both the sides, creating a lone free-standing tooth. This clinical scenario with a pier abutment needs to be taken into consideration during restoration of the arch as the masticatory forces applied on the abutment teeth at one end of fixed partial denture (FPD) can result in the pier abutment acting as a fulcrum resulting in ultimate failure of the FPD and trauma to the periodontium. To overcome this complication, use of non-rigid connectors is advised. Many innovative clinical designs with modifications to the conventional bridges have been proposed over the years to undertake such a scenario most diligently. Selection of the right type of connector is imperative for the success while undertaking such a case. This era is of digital dentistry; hence, an innovative, time saving, and cost-effective way of fabricating non-rigid connector using Exocad software and 3D printing of split pontic FPD is presented in this case report.

Amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) has been defined as a group of hereditary enamel defects. It can be characterized by enamel hypoplasia, hypomaturation, or hypocalcification of the teeth. AI may be associated with some other dental and skeletal developmental defects. Restoration for patients with this condition should be oriented toward the functional and esthetic rehabilitation. This clinical report describes the oral rehabilitation of a young patient diagnosed with the hypoplastic type of AI in posterior teeth and hypomatured type of AI in anterior teeth.

Conventional ameloblastomas are rare, benign, epithelial odontogenic tumors that tend to grow slowly in the mandible or maxilla, but are locally invasive and can be highly destructive of the surrounding dental anatomy. Aggressive resection is the most effective method of eliminating the tumors, but treatment can further contribute to patient deformity and malfunction. Ameloblastomas also have a high rate of recurrence, which significantly diminishes 8 years after resection, but still requires vigilant clinical monitoring. This case report describes the complete oral rehabilitation of a postresection ameloblastoma patient with a mandibular reconstruction plate and partial edentulism. An autogenous graft was taken from the patient's iliac crest, shaped to fit the defect, and attached with bone screws. After graft incorporation, dental implants were successfully placed into the augmented ridge and restored with a fixed partial denture. There was no evidence of tumor recurrence during the 10 months of treatment or 8 years of subsequent clinical monitoring.
