AbstractThis research was instigated by the low of students creative thinking ability at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja.  It was Quasi Experimental research.  Simple Random Sampling technique was used in this research.  The samples comprised two classes, the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 1 that were 33 students as the Control group and the students of Natural Science 2 that were 32 studentsas the Experimental group. The techniques of collecting the data were tests in the form of homogeneity test as the preliminary data, pretest and posttest as the final data, observation, and documentation. The instrument of this research was creative thinking ability test in the form of essay with the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed by using t test at 5% significant level.  The research findings showed that there was a significant effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson that t was 4.268 and the score of Sig. ABSTRACT: This descriptive study aims to analyze students' creative thinking skills in natural science at SMPN 6 in Tanjungpinang. A total of 119 students were being samples in this study. Data collected by test and observation. The issue of environmental pollution becomes a contextual topic to facilitate student tests and responses. From this study, it was known that students have good abilities in the aspects of fluency and flexibility in creative thinking. However in the originality and elaboration aspect are still in the sufficient category. Contextual issues of environmental pollution give support to the results of students' creative thinking abilities. However, the results obtained shows that learning strategies and learning resources are also important points in developing students’ creative thinking skills. ABSTRAK: Studi deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMPN 6 di Tanjungpinang dalam pembelajaran IPA. Sebanyak 119 siswa kelas VII dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes dan lembar observasi. Isu pencemaran lingkungan menjadi topik kontekstual untuk memfasilitasi tes dan respon siswa. Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa siswa memiliki kemampuan yang baik pada aspek kefasihan (fluency) dan keluwesan (flexibility) dalam berpikir kreatif. Namun pada aspek kebaruan ide (originality) dan kerincian ide (elaboration) masih berada pada kategori cukup. Kontekstualitas isu pencemaran lingkungan memberikan kontribusi pada hasil capaian kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Namun, juga diperoleh gambaran bahwa strategi pembelajaran dan sumber belajar juga menjadi point penting dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif.

The prerequisite for the present study is the lack of instruments ensuring timely identification and development of school students’ giftedness in natural science disciplines in the arsenal of a modern teacher. A system of creative tasks integrated into the process of studying chemistry and biology can largely contribute to the development of subject-related knowledge and creative thinking. However, the integration of creative tasks in the educational process should be preceded by purposeful formation and monitoring of the development of a set of reproductive intellectual skills. The main goal of the study is to develop a method for the identification and development of students’ abilities including giftedness in chemistry and biology, as well as to study the opportunities for creating individual learning trajectories in natural science disciplines. The study is based on the hypothesis that the development of an individual trajectory in studying chemistry and biology will contribute to the development of individuality and the creative abilities of students. The main method used in the study is determining the speed of completion of logical operations in the process of solving cognitive tasks. Assessment of the speed of completion of logical operations allows determining, among other things, the ability for mastering natural science disciplines and a child’s giftedness in this educational sphere. A system of tasks and exercises in chemistry and biology providing for the study of the speed of development of reproductive and creative thinking and allowing real-time monitoring of the effectiveness of the educational process for its timely correction is developed for the first time. The results of the study of the speed of completion of logical operations by a student in the process of solving cognitive tasks presented graphically form the basis for the development of an individual program of development of intellectual and creative abilities of a child.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki kelayakan dan efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri untuk meningkatkan creative thinking skills dan work creatively with others siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Borg & Gall. Prosedur penelitian ini meliputi (1) studi pendahuluan, (2) perencanaan, (3) pengembangan draf produk awal, (4) revisi pertama, (5) uji coba lapangan pendahuluan, (6) revisi kedua, (7) uji coba lapangan utama, (8) revisi produk akhir, dan (9) diseminasi. Subjek uji coba produk yaitu siswa kelas VII SMPN. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan metode observasi, angket, dan tes. Lembar angket validasi dan lembar angket keterbacaan LKS digunakan untuk mengukur kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran. Soal pretest-posttest dan lembar penilaian proyek digunakan untuk mengukur creative thinking skills. Lembar angket, lembar observasi, dan lembar penilaian antarteman digunakan untuk mengukur work creatively with others. Kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran dianalisis dengan konversi skor menggunakan skala 4. Efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran dianalisis dengan paired-samples t test, multivariate analysis of covariance (mancova), gain score, dan persen peningkatan. Hasil penelitian ini berupa produk perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri pada tema “Kalor dan Pengaturan Suhu Tubuh” yang layak dan efektif meningkatkan creative thinking skills dan work creatively with others siswa. Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran IPA, inkuiri, creative thinking skills, work creatively with others.   DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTATION AN INQUIRY-BASED NATURAL SCIENCE LEARNING PACKAGE Abstract This study aims to investigate the appropriateness and the effectiveness of inquiry-based natural science learning package to improve junior high school student’s creative thinking skills and work creatively with others. This study employed the development model by Borg & Gall. The research procedure consisted of: (1) preliminary study, (2) planning, (3) developing preliminary form of product, (4) first revision, (5) preliminary field testing, (6) second revision, (7) main field testing, (8) final product revision, and (9) dissemination. The product testing subjects were students of grade VII SMP. The data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and tests. Pretestt-posttest questions and project assessment sheet were used to measure creative thinking skills. Questionnaires, observa-tion sheet, and peer assessment sheet were used to measure work creatively with others. The appro-priateness of learning package was analyzed through four scales converted. The effectiveness of learning package was analyzed through paired-samples t test, multivariate analysis of covariance (mancova), gain score, and percentage of improvement. The result of the study was an inquiry-based natural science learning package for the “Heat and Body Temperature Regulatory” topic which appropriates and could improve student’s creative thinking skills and work creatively with others effectively. Teaching and learning process of natural science subjects includes aspects of: knowledge, skill, and thinking competence. Teachers did not implement the teaching activity which emphasize on thinking and conceptual understanding process because of limited time to make teaching and learning set which can train students’ creative thinking and conceptual understanding competence. This research aimed to produce teaching and learning set of natural science subject that is valid, practice, and effective to train creative thinking and conceptual understanding competence of junior high school students. This research was conducted to implement the teaching and learning set based on guided Inquiry. The target of this research was teaching and learning set. The design of this research is research and development research using Thiagarajan’s 4D model with one group pre-test post-test design. The data analysis technique used descriptive quantitative. Learning-based guided Inquiry was successful to train creative thinking and conceptual understanding competence. The result of creative thinking showed that the average score of pre-test was 42,61 and 83,19 of post-test with 0,70 of N-Gain, categorized as high level. The result of conceptual understanding (knowledge) showed that the average score of pre-test was 41,30 and 86,30 of post-test with 0,77 of N-Gain, categorized as high level. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that teaching and learning set of natural science subjects based guided Inquiry has been developed and it is valid, practice, and effective train students’ creative thinking and conceptual understanding competence. Proses pembelajaran IPA meliputi aspek sikap, pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kemampuan berpikir. Guru belum melaksanakan pembelajaran yang menekankan pada proses berpikir dan pemahaman konsep karena keterbatasan waktu dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran yang dapat melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemahaman konsep pada siswa SMP. Pembelajaran ini dilakukan dengan cara menerapkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing. Sasaran penelitian adalah perangkat pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4D dari Thiagarajan dan desain ujicoba penelitian menggunakan one group pre-test post-test. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing berhasil melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemahaman konsep. Hasil belajar tes berpikir kreatif, rata-rata persentase pretest sebesar 42,61 dan posttest 83,19 dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,70 dengan kategori tinggi. Hasil belajar pemahaman konsep siswa (aspek pengetahuan), rata-rata pretest sebesar 41,30 dan posttest 86,30 dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,77 dengan kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan diskusi hasil serta temuan-temuan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuri terbimbing yang telah dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif  dan pemahaman konsep siswa.

The paper discusses motivation as an integral part of the learning process. It presents the interdependence of motivation, emotions, self-regulated learning, cognition, metacognition, critical and creative thinking, learning strategies, and teacher in the process of learning within the natural science field. We describe the characteristics of internal and external motivation significant for improving engagement in the natural science learning activities that leads to better learning achievements. A review of relevant research on the specifics of teaching natural science subjects is discussed in the context of motivation, i. e. the paper discusses the factors that motivate students for studying and succeeding in natural science subjects. Students’ interest in natural science subjects depends largely on the teacher, but also on a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Due to teachers’ importance and numerous interrelationships in the entire learning process, they have a responsibility to motivate students, but also to motivate themselves for professional development in which they will improve their knowledge of factors that motivate students. The paper analyses which factors motivate students for optimal achievements in classes, for effective and active participation in the teaching process of natural science subjects, but also for developing a positive attitude towards the natural sciences.

The rising of an environmental issue and the lack of the handling of garbage organizing give support to us to do the research by involving garbages as the main material in making simple visual aids of physics. Based on that condition, we try to make new innovations in stimulating the creativity developing of natural science education department students of UNHASY having done the lecturing of basic physics collaborated with environmental science. The purpose of the research is to be able to give insight through education program of 5R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace, Respect) to students of natural science department of  University of Hasyim Asy’ari and apply that knowledge in changing garbage to be simple visual aids of physics. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive, whose data can be divided into 3 kinds: observation results (detail description of what has happened in the field), interview results ( direct citation from people’s statements in interview session) dan written material. The results of the data are, then analyzed by using observation sheets of creative thinking ability. The main research subjects are 29 students. This article describes a new learning model in biotechnology learning. The proposed model was designed while considering the development of 21st century skills using learning models that can enhance creative thinking and collaboration skills. Using a mixed-method (qualitative and quantitative) approach, the authors aimed at identifying the effect of the Identify, Literature Review, Construct, Create, and Communicate Learning Model implemented on Biology and Natural Science undergraduate students. As an example, we illustrate the proposed data collection technique for the assessment of creative thinking and collaboration skills using a written test and observation data, respectively. Our proposed learning model developed students' creative thinking and collaboration skills in two classes with 113 participants who enrolled in a course in Biotechnology. The new model's effectiveness is confirmed by calculating the overall mean scores of creative thinking assessment in the Biology and Natural Science classes, which are 87.42% and 92%, respectively, with an excellent category. Similarly, the results regarding students' collaboration skills in the Biology and Natural Science classes showed the scores of 84.06% and 84.94%, respectively, also with an excellent category. Our findings reveal that students' creative thinking and collaboration skills can be developed by using the Identify, Literature Review, Construct, Create, and Communicate learning model. The model can thus be used for enhancing other 21st century skills, such as critical thinking and communication skills, among others.
