Multi inflammatory syndrome (MIS) is a rare complication associated with covid-19 with few cases reported in pediatric age group. This entity is not well studied in adults. We report a case of a young male presented to us in very critical condition and was diagnosed as a case of MIS-A (Multi Inflammatory Syndrome - Adult). He was successfully treated with intravenous immunoglobulin, steroids and other supportive measure. By correct and timely diagnosis of this entity, one can prevent fatal outcome.

AbstractScleritis is the severe painful inflammation of the sclera, which can be infectious or non-infectious. Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the common causes of infectious scleritis. TB, though endemic in countries like India, is rare in pediatric age group. We report a case of a 9-year-old female child who presented with bilateral non-necrotizing anterior scleritis with unilateral posterior scleritis secondary to TB. To our knowledge, this is a rare presentation in pediatric age group, and she is the youngest of few cases of tuberculous posterior scleritis reported in literature.

Leukaemia and lymphoma are the commonly seen malignancies in children, subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTL) is not only a rare cause of malignancy but also rare cause of panniculitis in children. We report an unusual presentation of this malignancy in the form of pyrexia of unknown origin (PUO), where rash was seen as very late symptom. Histopathology is seen as key in diagnosis of the disorder.

Ganglioneuroma of the gastrointestinal tract is a rare mesenchymal tumor of neural origin, especially in childhood. They are categorized into three different morphological subtypes, namely, polypoid ganglioneuroma, ganglioneuromatous polyposis (GP), and diffuse ganglioneuromatosis. Patients with ganglioneuromas have different presentations depending on the location, extent, and size of the lesion. We report here a case of colonic ganglioneuromatous polyposis, presenting as abdominal pain and chronic constipation in a 6‑year‑old girl. Although GP cases are reported in adult age group, cases in pediatric age group are rare. Only a few cases are reported in the literature of GP in the pediatric age group. Although rare, this disorder must be taken into consideration in the differential diagnosis in every patient with symptoms such as abdominal pain, constipation, and lower intestinal bleeding, to avoid a delayed diagnosis.

Since the end of December 2019, corona virus disease (COVID-19) has spread globally. Though the majority of COVID-19 cases in pediatric age group have not been critical, a novel disease named as multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) have been emerging as the pandemic progresses. A systemic review of the literature was performed in the principle medical databases including Pubmed, Embase and Google Scholar between December 2019 and March 2021. A total of 40 articles were identified in the described database. Altogether 12 articles met the inclusion criteria and were eligible. The critical and severe case were more in infant age group, also the number of hospitalization was more in infant age group than other pediatric age groups. A number of case reports reflected that infants with COVID-19 positive may present with shock and sepsis. The mean age of MIS-C COVID-19 positive children was 1.1 year emphasizing the vulnerability of infant age group to this novel disease MIS-C. MIS-C is a new type of presentation of COVID-19 infection. Special emphasis should be given in infant age group with COVID-19 who are vulnerable to develop MIS-C.

Branchial apparatus develop between the 3rd and 7th weeks of embryonic life. There are five mesodermal arches separated by invaginations of ectoderm and endoderm. Branchial anomalies are result of aberrant embryonic development and are rarely seen in clinical practice. The objective of this article is to present few cases of branchial arch anomalies and to discuss the clinical presentation, diagnosis and surgical approach of such lesions in pediatric age group.
