The problems of modeling in the Matlab environment the modes of the MHD-stirring of aluminum melt in furnaces, taking into account the distribution network. It is noted that the operation of frequency inverters of the power supply system sharply complicates the electromagnetic environment in a network of limited power. It is proposed to apply a complex of models to assess the possibility of reducing the distortion of the network currents by modifying the rectifier control algorithms, while maintaining the stability of the DC bus of the frequency converter.

Sliding mode control (SMC) methods possess several advantageous properties such as robustness against parameter variation, disturbance rejection, straightforward design, and are simple to implement. In this paper, a sliding mode control algorithm (which considers the non-linear friction dynamics) based on an equivalent control technique is designed and implemented on a non-linear induction machine system with non-linear friction dynamics such as Coulomb, windage, Stribeck, and static friction. The chattering phenomenon, which is inherent in the standard sliding mode algorithm, is discussed, as well as the techniques to reduce the chattering effect. A sixth-order non-linear induction machine model is employed for simulation analysis. The developed control algorithms are then tested for position control of a practical vector-controlled induction machine, in three different operating conditions (nominal load, high inertial load, and rotor resistance mismatch). The controller performance results are compared practically with several different sliding mode control algorithms as well as with a fixed-gain controller test.

The problem of the stability of a two-phase flow is considered. The solution of the stability equations is performed by the spectral method using polynomials of Chebyshev. A decrease in the stability region gas flow with the addition of particles of the solid phase. The analysis influence on the stability characteristic of Stokes and Archimedes forces.

As for the wide application of arc suppression coil to the grounding in neutral point of mine high voltage grid, grid leakage fault rules and harmonic characteristics of the neutral point grounding system through arc suppression coil are analyzed, the selective leakage protection program “zero-sequence voltage starts, fifth harmonics of grid zerosequence voltage and zero-sequence current are extracted for phase comparison” is proposed, and corresponding fifth harmonic extraction circuit and power direction discrimination circuit are designed. The experimental results show that the protective principle applies not only to the neutral point insulated power supply system, but also to the power supply system in which neutral point passes arc suppression coil, which can solve selective leakage protection problems under different neutral grounding ways, improving the reliability of selective leakage and guaranteeing the stability of the action value.

The article substantiates the necessity of organizing the control system of modern lithium-ion batteries. Passive and active methods of cell balancing are described. The method of increase of efficiency of modes of accumulation of electric energy by means of the special electronic control device (the intellectual controller) and its further use for power supply of the functional equipment is considered. The structure of the intelligent controller as a part of the autonomous power supply system with the description of its main functional units and purpose is presented. Practical results of application in the intellectual controller of original adaptive control algorithms defining modes of operation of lithium-ion drives depending on various environmental conditions are resulted. The results of the analysis obtained by the results of experimental operation of the battery system, reflecting the qualitative and quantitative advantages of the proposed method.

The analytical solution of one of the urgent problems of modern hydromechanics and heat engineering about the distribution of gas and liquid phases along the channel cross-section, the thickness of the annular layer and their connection with the mass content of the gas phase in the gas-liquid flow is given in the paper. The analytical method is based on the fundamental laws of theoretical mechanics and thermophysics on the minimum of energy dissipation and the minimum rate of increase in the system entropy, which determine the stability of stationary states and processes. Obtained dependencies disclose the physical laws of the motion of two-phase media and can be used in hydraulic calculations during the design and operation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
