The purpose of this research was to determine the percentage of each type of ‘roti manis’ physical damage, to identify factors causing the damages, and to determine whether the percentage amount of damage was whithin the business control limit. Types of damage observed were broken, too small in size, in appropriate form, over heated or burned.  Observation was conducted during 16 working days (one month) at Barokah Bakery in Lahat.  Result of the research showed that the broken damage was 1,31%; the too small in size was 1,1%; the unacceptable form was 0,98%; and no damage of over heat. Based on the causal effect analysis, it was found that the main factor causing ‘roti manis’s damages was caused by process inadequately. Result of diagram control analysis showed that the overall average damage was 3,4% with the upper limit was 5,2% and the lower limit was 1,6%. The percentage of the damage was considered high but it was within the company control limit of 2-4%

A fundamental diagram consists of a scatter of traffic flow data sampled at a specific location and aggregated from vehicle trajectories. These trajectories, if presented equivalently, constitute a microscopic version of the (conventional) fundamental diagram. The cross-reference between vehicle trajectories and the microscopic fundamental diagram provides details of vehicle motion dynamics which allow causal-effect analysis on some traffic phenomena and further reveal the microscopic basis of the conventional fundamental diagram. This observation inspires theoretical modeling by a microscopic approach to address traffic phenomena and the conventional fundamental diagram. Derived from the field theory of traffic flow, the longitudinal control model is capable of serving the purpose without the modifications or exceptions used by other approaches.

Tourniquet pressure rather than prolonged ischaemia is the main factor responsible for nerve palsies. It is essential to check the accuracy of the gauge of a pneumatic tourniquet against a mercury manometer regularly, as the commonest cause of a tourniquet paralysis is a faulty gauge. With regard to ischaemia three hours should be regarded as the upper limit of safety.

Software effort estimation is a critical task for successful software development, which is necessary for appropriately managing software task assignment and schedule and consequently producing high quality software. Function Point (FP) metrics are commonly used for software effort estimation. To build a good effort estimation model, independent explanatory variables corresponding to FP metrics are required to avoid a multicollinearity problem. For this reason, previous studies have tackled analyzing correlation relationships between FP metrics. However, previous results on the relationships have some inconsistencies. To obtain evidences for such inconsistent results and achieve more effective effort estimation, we propose a novel analysis, which investigates causal-effect relationships between FP metrics and effort. We use an advanced linear non-Gaussian acyclic model called BayesLiNGAM for our causal-effect analysis, and compare the correlation relationships with the causal-effect relationships between FP metrics. In this paper, we report several new findings including the most effective FP metric for effort estimation investigated by our analysis using two datasets.

Abstract Background Biannual azithromycin distribution to children 1–59 months old reduced all-cause mortality by 18% [incidence rate ratio (IRR) 0.82, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.74, 0.90] in an intention-to-treat analysis of a randomized controlled trial in Niger. Estimation of the effect in compliance-related subgroups can support decision making around implementation of this intervention in programmatic settings. Methods The cluster-randomized, placebo-controlled design of the original trial enabled unbiased estimation of the effect of azithromycin on mortality rates in two subgroups: (i) treated children (complier average causal effect analysis); and (ii) untreated children (spillover effect analysis), using negative binomial regression. Results In Niger, 594 eligible communities were randomized to biannual azithromycin or placebo distribution and were followed from December 2014 to August 2017, with a mean treatment coverage of 90% [standard deviation (SD) 10%] in both arms. Subgroup analyses included 2581 deaths among treated children and 245 deaths among untreated children. Among treated children, the incidence rate ratio comparing mortality in azithromycin communities to placebo communities was 0.80 (95% CI: 0.72, 0.88), with mortality rates (deaths per 1000 person-years at risk) of 16.6 in azithromycin communities and 20.9 in placebo communities. Among untreated children, the incidence rate ratio was 0.91 (95% CI: 0.69, 1.21), with rates of 33.6 in azithromycin communities and 34.4 in placebo communities. Conclusions As expected, this analysis suggested similar efficacy among treated children compared with the intention-to-treat analysis. Though the results were consistent with a small spillover benefit to untreated children, this trial was underpowered to detect spillovers.

Physical damage to fruit on oil palm fresh fruit bunches due to harvest and postharvest activities include injured fruit mesocarp, fruit weight loss, and loss in fruit bunches. One of the postharvest handlings that can maintain the physical quality of the fruit is by giving gibberellins (GA3). This research aims to determine the effect of the concentration of gibberellins (GA3) whit application time before harvest on the physical quality of postharvest oil palm fresh fruit bunches. The research was conducted at Afdeling VI Garden Cot Girek PT. Perkebunan Nusantara I and in the Cot Girek Palm Oil Factory laboratory. The time of the research was conducted in June until July 2019. The study used a non factorial randomized block design method with 4 treatment levels (0 mg/l, 50 mg/l, 100 mg/l, and 150 mg/l) with 3 replications. The administration of gibberellins has a significant effect on fruit loss and fruit weight reduction with the best concentration of gibberellins is 50 ppm but does not have a significant effect on pH, moisture content, and fruit free fatty acids.

Purpose of the study: The objectives of this study are: (i) To analyze the quality control of the products applied to the amplang Karya Bahari business based on Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tools, (ii) To find out and analyze what factors cause product damage/disability amplang work at the Maritime business in Samarinda. Methodology: This research uses quantitative methods discretionary quantitative research method that is research that is used to Investigate, find, describe, and explain the quality or features of social influences that can’t be explained or Described measured through a quantitative approach. The operational definitions of this research are (i) Quality control processes, (ii) Quality control measures. Types and sources of the data the primary use of data Obtained directly from the object of research. Data collection techniques are (i) observation, (ii) interviews, (iii) documentation, (iv) laboratory tests. Analysis of the Data used are: (i) collecting the data (check sheet), (ii) a histogram, (iii) making control charts, (iv) the causal diagrams, (v) the proposed improvements. Main Findings:  The results of the study suggest that Maritime work is applied to the already on the limit of control. It can be seen at chart, upper control limit (UCL) of 1 and the lower control limit (LCL) of 0.3362 under controlled conditions or reasonable limits, but in reality, they are experiencing product damage or defect in the production of amplang processing. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study is expected to be an additional reference for studies in the field production related to analysis quality control (quality control) and product quality by using Statistics Quality Control. This study is expected to provide information for the company about procedure control in keeping a quality product that will be produced.

Rice is one of the most cultivated cereals in the world and the increase in crop yield is associated with cultivars and levels of soil fertilization, and may suffer changes in grain quality after processing. The objective of this work was to evaluate the physical quality of grains of rice benefited as polished and integral of cultivars IR 424 RI and IR 431 CL as a function of different levels of fertilization. After the harvest, the grains were subjected to the debarking and polishing processes. Quality analysis was performed according to the physical classification of rice. The cultivar IR 424 RI obtained higher values of yellow, burned and plastered grains, and in the cultivar IR 431 LC more broken, chopped and stained grains were observed. The average yield of polished rice of cultivar IR 431 CL was 44.54% and cultivar IR 424 RI was 56.80%. Meanwhile, the average yield of whole rice of cultivar IR 431 CL was 65.02% and cultivar IR 424 RI was 73.08%. The increase in the fertilization levels of the rice influenced positively on the yield of whole grains, but did not present satisfactory results regarding the physical quality.

The use of papaya latex formulated with nitrogen supplementation and minerals in the form of multinutrition blocks that can pass through the rumen is expected to improve nutritional quality and feed digestibility. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of fermented rice straw, papaya fruit latex and blood clamshell flour as a main raw material in the manufacture of multinutrition blocks plus herbal anthelmintic medicine (papaya fruit latex) on physical quality (texture, color, aroma, hardness), chemical quality (proximate composition and mineral content of Ca, P, Mg, Cu, Zn). Microbiological tests were carried out on total bacteria, Salmonella and Escherichia coli. The research design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatment levels of papaya fruit administration and 4 replications. Data is processed statistically using ANOVA. The results of organoleptic physical quality analysis showed significant differences in the texture of the product given the highest papaya latex (0.007ml / kg). Chemical analysis of the product showed a quantitative increase in protein, although statistically the treatment did not show any significant differences. The results of the analysis of the microbiological quality of the product quantitatively showed that the resulting multinutrition block herbs were not contaminated with negative bacteria. It was concluded that multinutrition block herbs can be given to livestock as supplementary feed.
