As one of the largest and most important industries in the world, the air industry’s impact on economic development, living standard and productivity in the Republic of Croatia has been significant. Air transport is of high significance for the economic development of the Republic of Croatia because its tremendous importance in the development of one of the most important economic branches in Croatia – tourism. Due to the liberalization of the air transportation market in the European Union the growth of low-cost carriers has been noteworthy. The aforementioned liberalization has had a significant impact on the Croatian air transportation market, especially on the presence of low-cost carriers in the coastal Croatian airports. Based on the secondary data analysis, the purpose of this paper is to underline the characteristics of the Croatian air transportation market, and as well to analyse the importance and the role of low-cost carriers in the traffic of all Croatian airports. Due to this development, a significant increase has been noted in the passenger air traffic and as well in the number of low-cost carriers that are offering their services on the Croatian market.

Deregulation or liberalisation of air transport has had major global impacts on the domestic air transport markets, with effects ranging from stimulation to changes in the structure and functioning of these markets. In South Africa, deregulation has had wide-reaching effects on the domestic market. The purpose of this article was to investigate the current domestic air transport market. A literature review was performed to examine the effects of deregulation in other domestic air transport markets around the world. This was followed by a review of the South African domestic air transport market prior to deregulation in order to determine the changes that were made following deregulation. The ten-year period immediately following deregulation was also examined; this period was characterised by relatively large numbers of market entries and exits. A database was obtained from the Airports Company South Africa; air traffic movements, passenger numbers and load factors were evaluated. The study showed that the market is still characterised by regular market entries and exits. Also that the entry of the low-cost carriers has stimulated the market, resulting in increased air traffic movements, higher passenger numbers, higher load factors in general and the opening of a secondary airport in Gauteng, Lanseria International. Deregulation and, more specifically, the entry of the low-cost carriers has resulted in structural changes in the market and more choice for passengers.

Sheep and goat production is different from other types of livestock production (cattle, pig, poultry production) because it is most commonly extensive, which means that it demands a relatively low level of investments into buildings, equipment and other fixed assets. This paper aims to analyse characteristics of investments into the sheep and goat production in the European Union and compare them to the similar investments in the Republic of Serbia. In order to analyse the state in the EU, data from the appropriate FADN data base were used, as well as the sector analyses conducted for the area of the EU. On the other hand, in order to analyse necessary investments into sheep and goat production in Serbia, available technical and technological data and appropriate literary sources were used. Analysis of construction costs for buildings used in sheep and goat production was done, as well as the calculation of investments into appropriate necessary equipment. It has been noticed that there is a need for enlargement of the sheep and goat farms in Serbia in order to provide a proper living standard for holders of such enterprises.

The liberalization of the aviation market has enabled low-cost airlines to take over a significant share in the aviation market. Benefits of low-cost models are multiple, both for passengers and for secondary and regional airports, which were neglected in the past and which record significant inflow of passengers with the arrival of low-cost airlines. In the structure of the air traffic in the Republic of Croatia in the last ten years, there has been a progressive growth of foreign low-cost airline operations, which suggests a potential for the operation of a Croatian low-cost airline. This paper defines the criteria applicable to modelling of a low-cost airline in the Republic of Croatia in the relevant context of fleet management, route networking and operator’s processes in traffic technology. It analyzes the dynamics of low-cost airlines operations in the structure of air traffic in Croatia and the impact of traffic on the status of airports and the national operator. In recent years, in almost all of the markets, low cost airlines dedicated to the air transportation of passengers were established, presenting different business strategies if compared to the classical, national airlines. The term low-cost company is used in the aerospace industry indicating airlines that operate with lower operating costs, unlike their competitors. The success of low-cost airlines can be attributed to the low-cost dominantly positioned strategy adopted by the airlines. The main goal of this paper is focused on the analysis of selected cases of low-cost airlines and their comparison to traditional air carriers. Additionally, the purpose of this paper is to analyze low-cost airlines, comparing their characteristics with other segments of air traffic, identify their strategies, and identify the activities of the value chain that affect the most the reduction of costs

Passenger airline service can have a significant impact on a metropolitan region's economy in terms of direct spending and employment, as well as on indirect spending related to industries such as tourism and the service sector. In the past decade passenger service levels have changed considerably in many markets because of a wide variety of events including increased competition, terrorism, and a downturn in the economy. Airlines have responded to these challenges in a variety of ways. Some of the traditional network carriers have been forced into bankruptcy in an attempt to reduce costs and compete more effectively with low cost carriers. In contrast, the low cost carriers have expanded service and entered new markets at a rapid pace.This paper examines the economic evolutionary process whereby a dominant carrier competes intensely in one market against a similar airline and retreats in another where new, lower-cost entrant expands service. Literature is examined for evidence pertaining to the market's response to a network carrier's financial distress, its impact on airport service levels, and implications for local economies. A zero sum case is explained using a recent example. A positive sum case is explored, where the positive contributions of the entering carrier exceed those left behind by the resident carrier. In the process, depending on the types of gains and nature of the evolving airlines' network, the patterns of air traffic may also change. Using these experiences, an analytical framework is proposed that attempts to explain the emergent behavior of low cost carriers when they enter new markets. In addition, the impact of these changes on the air traffic management system is also examined.

The aim of the study is to study the development of cooperation and tourism in the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the European Union. There is a lot of work to be done in tourism management to adapt to the European Union. In particular, there are problems that need to be addressed on a sectoral basis. Nowadays, our country prefers more bilateral relations in relations with the European Union in accordance with its external priorities. In addition to participating in regional EU projects, Azerbaijan, a leading country in terms of its share in the overall economic development of the South Caucasus, is trying to take a certain position in the EU's external relations. Thus, the Azerbaijani state creates new formats of bilateral relations with the European Union, demonstrating the Union's desire to integrate into the common European economic, political and security space, developing all the institutions necessary to get closer to it. The aim of this paper is to examine the changes of the passenger air traffic at the John Paul IIInternational Airport in Kraków in comparison with other regional airports in Poland in the years1996–2005. The analysis also covers the development of aviation network from the KrakówAirport and the changes in size of passenger flows on individual routes. Special attention wasput on low-cost carriers and their impact on growth of passenger flows and the diversification ofthe offered connections.

The countries of the Western Balkans have declared their foreign policy priority membership not only in NATO but also in the European Union. Achieving these goals is associated with overcoming many challenges of different nature. Although not directly related to the country's de facto membership of the EU, its infrastructure and the level of its connection with its neighbors raises many of the issues important to society and forms many of its immediate priorities. Difficulties in interconnectedness between countries can have both a political and a geographical basis. In this regard, a serious challenge for the Republic of Northern Macedonia is the level of connection with its eastern and western neighbors. Almost 30 years after the declaration of independence, the infrastructure continues to follow the realities set and realized by Socialist Yugoslavia. This in turn poses many difficulties for the economic development of the whole region. A significant part of the reasons for the lack of progress are also due to purely geographical reasons, but alternative solutions can be sought to overcome the backlog in connectivity.

The purpose of the study is to present a model of the prospective development of the passenger air transportation market of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the conditions of overcoming the crisis caused by the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the analysis of the activities of the national airlines «AZAL» and «Buta Airways», taking into account the statistical data of the passenger traffic growth of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport (Baku), as well as data on the development of the national tourism industry, a model of promising development of directions in the structure of the route network of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport is presented. The result of the research is the construction of a model for the prospective development of new directions in the structure of the route network of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The main principles of the post-crisis model of the development of the national market, according to the author, is the need to develop the segment of low-cost air transportation. The presented model of the route network development includes the development of the directions of the national budget airline «Buta Airways», as well as the expansion of cooperation with foreign budget airlines «Fly Arystan» (Republic of Kazakhstan), «Wizz Air» (Hungary), and in addition, the development of cooperation with Russian regional airlines, and first of all with the airline «Azimut» as one of the dynamically developing regional airlines of the Russian Federation.

The goal of this article is to analyse the structure of geographic presence and the socio-economic impact of low-cost carriers (LCCs) in the selected countries of Central and Eastern Europe (neighbouring the Republic of Belarus – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine and Russia). The model of the current geographic configuration of the LCCs network from the cities and airports with the closest proximity to Belarus was designed. The current market trends show that the major LCCs on the market are Wizz Air and Ryanair, and they are increasing their share at the markets of the countries analysed (particularly after Ryanair entered Ukrainian market in 2018). The overview of socio-economic impact of LCCs is discussed with accent on the possible benefits and outcomes of LCCs entry to the Republic of Belarus.
