The purpose of the article is to analyse the current state of regional media platforms, identify development problems and justify solutions. Methodology. General scientific methods are used in the research. Among them are generalizations, comparisons, statistical analysis – to analyse views of the scientists on the current state of providing regional media platforms, identify development problems and justify solutions. Results. In the process of analysing the current state of regional media platforms development, an increase in the number of business entities in Ukraine that provide information and telecommunications services (in 2010–2018 from 55,977 to 174,622 units) was revealed. In general, the increase was due to an increase in the number of information services and computer programming, consulting and related activities. Considering the field of publishing, film production, radio broadcasting and television broadcasting, it is necessary to state the fact that during the study period, the number of subjects decreased significantly. This trend is observed due to the reform implemented in these areas. The leaders of the reform process are Kirovohrad region, where 25 out of 28 print media and editorial offices have been reformed, Zhytomyr (24 out of 28), Khmelnytsky (23 out of 27), Mykolaiv (22 out of 26), Poltava (26 out of 31), Ternopil (16 out of 21) regions. Outsiders of the reform process are Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Transcarpathian regions and the city of Kyiv. In particular, in Kyiv, according to the monitoring data, none of the 4 communal mass media was reformed, and in the Transcarpathian region, 3 out of 31 editions were reformed. The volume of sold products by enterprises of the type of economic activity “information and telecommunications” increased 3.8 times or by 200,727.1 million UAH. A significant increase in sales is observed in all areas, except for magazines and periodicals. This once again confirms our opinion that the majority of the population gets information from the Internet but not from print media. Therefore, the volume of sold products has decreased significantly. The main problems hindering the development of regional media platforms are presented. The main problems include: inadequate provision of the Internet access; low quality of traffic, content (no advertising market, no paid subscription) and fact-checking; the influence of the media founders on editorial policy; the dominance of hidden advertising. Practical meaning. These problems of media platforms will allow to form their development strategy. Prospects for further research. The study will substantiate the prospects for the development of regional media platforms in Ukraine.

The article is devoted to the Internet blogs of political sphere. It is revealed that the main sphere of the formation and functioning of the new phraseology is the media style in the genre of the blog. The blog is considered as a mean of creating a specific author’s reality, which should be in line with the general public opinion. The Internet resource «Ukrainska Pravda» is analyzed from the point of view of the fullness of communicative tactics, verbalizers of which are phraseological innovations. Of course, new phraseological constructions are understood as not yet registered elements. They are understood as new combinations of words which refer to contemporary realities, phenomena and trends. Also new phraseological constructions can develop new, previously unregistered meanings. Therefore, they most clearly illustrate the current state of the development of Ukrainian society. Much attention is paid to the means of creating new phraseological constructions through contextual analysis. Internet blogs show that such communication tactics as prosecution tactics, tactics of positive self-presentation, tactics of negative representation of the addressee, tactics of irony, tactics of hanging labels and tactics of openness are often used by authors to demonstrate their own thoughts about events in society. As the material testifies, new phraseological constructions, such as the verbalizers of the aforementioned tactics used by bloggers in their texts entirely depend on the contextual content of the material. They represent the main position of the author’s blog of the political sphere. It is noted that new phraseological constructions give communicative tactics greater expressiveness and appreciation (using, for example, quotes in blogs for creating more persuasive influence on the focus audience). It is also established that all analyzed communicative tactics acquire a negative axiological semantics and mark the author’s attitude towards a particular political person or event.

Effective fight against unfair competition is one of the priorities of state policy and development strategy of each business unit. At the same time, in today's difficult economic environment, exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, many businesses face numerous hybrid financial conflicts, including unfair competition. In this context, the article substantiates the need to find new ways to combat this destructive phenomenon. The author considers the approaches of scientists to understanding the essence of unfair competition and the peculiarities of its legislative regulation. An analysis of the impact of unfair competition on the financial and economic activities of business entities in Ukraine. The article notes that with a fairly broad interpretation of the essence of the concept of «unfair competition» is not always possible to correctly classify certain methods of competition. Blurred boundaries between healthy and unfair competition are a prerequisite for hybrid financial conflicts. The author identifies key manifestations of unfair competition, in particular: economic espionage, influence on consumers by manipulating information, counterfeiting competitors, bribery and blackmail, corruption, financial fraud. Technologies of interaction of unfair competitors with employees of the victim enterprise in order to obtain its confidential financial information are described. These are various negotiations, which often take place through bribery or with elements of psychological pressure, in particular, intimidation, blackmail. In addition, it is determined that in the implementation of unfair competitive activities are actively used technologies of interaction with government agencies and due to corruption mechanisms gain a competitive advantage. Technologies of interaction with the media are also revealed, the purpose of which is to form a favorable public opinion for competitors about the activities of the victim enterprise and to compromise the management of the business entity and products or services offered by it on the market. The article examines the most common types of unfair actions that are carried out in order to achieve undue advantages in competition. In order to counteract unfair actions by competitors, the need to balance the financial interests of market participants is justified, in particular, emphasis is placed on the need for competitive intelligence to raise awareness of potential threats from competitors and protect the internal environment from economic espionage.

The chapter examines the current state of print, electronic, and social media in Europe and the US, and how its evolution has influenced mass behaviour, political representation, and democratic governance. We begin by surveying the dramatic changes that have taken place in the media environment—the shift in media technology from print to broadcast to the Internet, and how these changes influence the information environment and thus, the behaviour of citizens and elites. We then assess how various facets of the electronic media—that is, broadcast news, cable, partisan news, the Internet, and social media—influence political behaviour and representation. Despite a few exceptions, transformations in print, electronic, and social media in liberal democracies have tended to degrade the quality of representation in the last two decades, particularly in the US, where market forces are stronger and government regulations designed to buffer the market are weaker.

The article presents the outcomes of studying the transformation of audiovisual content in a new technological environment, which is one of the stages of the research project conducted by the Department of Television and Radio Broadcasting of the Journalism Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University. This stage held in July 2019 aims to identify the technological features of the work of the cultural and educational TV channel portals – “Russia K” (domestic channel) and ARTE (French-German channel). Both “Russia K” and ARTE are important media players that have been setting trends in their field for more than 10 years. The reason for comparing these channels was their thematic focus and a certain similarity of projects. The TV channel “Russia K” is the only non-for-profit channel dedicated to the cultural and educational topics in R SMAI, and ARTE TV channel is one of the most popular media specialized in this subject in Europe. During this stage the total amount of analyzed materials is 251 (145 publications on the “Russia K” and 106 on ARTE websites). The analysis of materials published on the Internet is based on following criteria: the number of materials, the nature of the content (broadcast / special), thematic and genre. The analysis of the amount of materials enables tracing the frequency of publication of new articles; data on the nature of the content helps to conclude which materials on the sites are more – on-air or special. Defining thematic and genre originality provides a complete picture of the content being posted. The author concludes that nowadays the Internet versions of the channels have their own faces but are inseparably bound with their television counterparts. The website of the TV channel “Russia K” is a vibrant media with recognizable style and creative presentation. However, in order to strengthen its position, the editors of the site should increase the number of copyright off-air materials and use new interactive genres (tests, quizzes, etc.).The site of the ARTE channel fits into the modern digital space while maintaining the classic presentation. Since most ARTE channel programs are timeless, they correlate very well with the consumer nature of the Internet and the need for educational content. Documentary films – the most common form of ARTE channel programs is in great demand by the audience in the digital environment that wants to quickly learn something important in a simple, vivid and understandable form. The difference between the on-air and non-air versions is largely exaggerated, because sites and channels do not compete with each other but are adjacent and complement each other. Websites enable access to the channel’s content anytime, anywhere, by selecting the desired program. Sites act not only as electronic repositories but also as individual units in the media world providing unique information.
