In recent years, the way of competition has changed in terms of garment manufacturing. Quality and scale competition gradually turn into speed competition. Garment manufacturers need to shorten the production cycle to win development opportunities. This paper takes a garment manufacturing factory as the research object, and innovatively uses the MOST method and Em-Plant simulation to improve the efficiency of its production line. According to each activity, operation time and worker assignment of the garment manufacturing process, the corresponding simulation model based on Em-Plant software is created to reveal the current problems existing in the manufacturing process. By analyzing these results, the bottlenecks in the process are found out. Applying theoretical knowledge such as production line balancing, lean production, motion study and time analysis, the improvement two plans are put forward, and the corresponding simulation results are given subsequently. Finally, a relatively better improvement plan is determined, which can better achieve the goal of balancing production line, improving efficiency, and reducing cost.

If an incident occurs on the road, the normal flow of traffic stream is interrupted and the road capacity reduces. This thus leads to huge social, economical losses, such as traffic congestion, air pollution, etc. This study was conducted to examine an effect on an incident management system by carrying out an simulation analysis and an social cost analysis. For the simulation analysis, incidents in a normal situation were compared with those in an incidental situation and thus travel time, queue length, and accident duration were selected as an evaluation indicator. It was analyzed that after an incident situation occurs, the length of vehicle in waiting rapidly increases and thus travel time also largely increases. To make an social cost analysis, vehicle operation cost (VOC) and vehicle operation time (VOT) were used an index. The results showed that travel time cost per driver and vehicle in an incidental situation all increased, compared with that in a normal situation. It was also observed that the longer the lasting hours are, the higher the travel time increases.

SCADA is the technology that allows the operator to gather data from one or more various facilities and to send control instructions to those facilities.  This paper represents an adaptable and low cost SCADA system for a particular sugar manufacturing process, by using Programmable Logic Controls (Siemens s7-1200, 1214Dc/ Dc/ Rly). The system will control and monitor the laboratory production line chose from sugar industry. The project comprises of two sections the first one is the hardware section that has been designed, and built using components suitable for making it for laboratory purposes, and the second section was the software as the PLC programming, designing the HMI, creating alarms and trending system. The system will have two HMI screens according to the two operating states of system (Automatic and Manual), the operator can choose between them by a selector switch, this method helps the operators when fixing a failure and wanting to check it without operating all the process. The result has accomplished the goals of controlling, the parameters (temperature, flow, humidity) were monitored, failure was detected by an alarm.

The aim of this study is to analyze the existing production line in the automotive industry and proposed a layout of improved production line in the manufacturing process and obtain the optimum rate of production time. Thus, line balancing method and Yamazumi Chart was utilized to analyze the current and proposed production line. The collection of the data of the existing production line was conducted at one of the automotive company in Malaysia. From the analysis of current production line, two improved layout were proposed and evaluated. The proposed layout was selected based on a balanced production line and ability to meet customer demand. A balanced production line will ensure smooth process and eliminate wastage during operation

As to the problem that the assembly cycle and costs of quayside container crane always exceeds 40% of the entire production cycle and costs, improving the assembly efficiency becomes an important link to enhance the competence of port machinery manufacturing enterprises. In the product assembling cycle, virtual assembly can help to improve assembly quality and reduce the cost. Based on the physical structure of 45t quayside container crane, 3D components model were developed, the assembly hierarchy and modeling process were provided. The simulation analysis of assembly sequence was taken based on the CATIA DMU platform and virtual assembly animation was generated. The assembly interference detection results were analyzed to verify the part assembling ability, the whole disassembly and assembly process was displayed, which can help the assembly workers making visual analysis of fitting operation rationality.

The current trend of the final product quality increasing is affected by time analysis of the entire manufacturing process The primary requirement of manufacturing is to produce as many products as soon as possible, at the lowest possible cost, but of course with the highest quality. Such requirements may be satisfied only if all the elements entering and affecting the production cycle are in a fully functional condition. These elements consist of sensory equipment and intelligent control elements that are essential for building intelligent manufacturing systems. Intelligent manufacturing system itself should be a system that can flexibly respond to changes in entering and exiting the process in interaction with the surroundings. Philosophy that we apply to solve the problem rise from intelligent assembly cell by building on our institute of manufacturing systems and applied mechanics Essential philosophy is integrate of interconnection between palletizing- depalletizing robot and Intelligent assembly system by the means mobile robot Robotino.

The U-Shaped layout and function of production system is studied, the purpose is showing how the layouts and their main function influence each other, thus to provide enlightenments and references to improve the design of the production system layout. The simple automatic arrangement system is presented based on Plant Simulation software and focused on an equipment layout problem. The automatic layout system is an automatic layout system of workshop layout according to data; adopt the method of simulation modeling combined with optimization of the workshop layout. According to the different optimization objectives, the user can get a different optimal solution. Through simulation, we can get the default layout of the carrying amount, size and arrangement, combined with the enterprise's actual situation. The appropriate adjustments and production efficiency of production workshop are improved, and the operation time of manual modeling is shortened.

Microfluidic chips have a great prospect in the field of biochemical analysis with advantages of fast processes, high flux and low consumption. Molding and bonding are separated by the conventional procedure of hot embossing and bonding, resulting in low automation and long production cycle. In order to reduce cycle time and achieve mass production, this paper proposed In-mold Bonding technology with precisely controlled bonding pressure by injection molding machine’s movement of core-pulling. So simulation analysis for bonding process of PMMA microfluidic chip was carried out using finite element software to study microchannel distortion at different bonding temperature and pressure. The results show that, at a certain bonding pressure, when bonding temperature was lower than glass transition temperature(Tg), microchannel distortion didn’t change significantly, when bonding temperature was higher than Tg, microchannel deformation increases with increasing temperature. Small microchannel distortion was obtained at a temperature of 108°C,which was recommended as the suitable bonding temperature.

The existence of operational balance in each production lines may decrease the idle time; it shows that the productivity is increasing therefore it increases the production rate. The issues existed in the production process of hollow Dakota 1730 in PT. XYZ were 3 departments, from the result of the first observation, there was a bottleneck from each department and each production did not achieve the required target. Therefore, this research would fix the production line. The method used was ranked /positional weight. Based on the data processing by the ranked positional weight method, gained the total of work station in the production process of hollow Dakota 1730 by the number of 2 work stations. From the result of efficiency balancing, gained 62.5% and balance delay value was 37.5%. it shows that the balance performance between each department increases significantly.
