Galang Island region's potential development into a tourism area depends on the physical potential, diversity of flora and fauna and activities that support the economic sector for residents around Galang Island. There are two types of ecotourism development recommendations, one concerning conservation which aims to preserve ecosystems and the second is the use of natural beauty as tourism background and facilities that support the surrounding resident's economy. The problem is how the two tourism recommendations can work together and what kind of synergy the recommendations are like. Through identification stages of the flora and fauna types and analysis of the economic activities of residents around Galang Island, produce a mapping of the potential that can be developed into a tourism area. In the ideation stage, the potential analysis can be realized by functional zone, namely conservation zones, recreation zones and their relationship to regional boundaries and the synergy relationship formed through the circulation concept. By the zones and circulation concept, the visualization phase will be more detailed explaining by the atmosphere that was formed as a synergy form in the Galang Island region design

In recent years there has been an interest, partly renewed but largely new, for the development of economic activities which deal, more or less directly, with the environment. Resisting the idea that the greening of the economy in our country (but not only in our country) mainly concerns the energy sector and more specifically the photovoltaic, it seems interesting to confront economic actors working in different product fields (from agriculture to informatics) with a common interest around "environmentally sound" labour practices. We asked to five small enterprises acting in the Marches region to debate around the ideas and practices of the new green economic sector.

The importance of the ocean economy in island regional development requires the local government to formulate relevant policies according to the potential of its ocean economic activities. Based on the 2012 North Maluku Province I-O table updated to 2016, this study was conducted by aggregating 20 ocean subsectors to measure inter-sectoral linkages, output multipliers, income multipliers, and labor multipliers in the ocean economic sector. The I-O analysis results show that the leading sectors of the ocean economy of North Maluku Province are fisheries, ore mining, and construction. In recent years, information communication technologies (ICT) have become accessible throughout the world, and appear to overcome both distance and time (Cairncross, 1997). ICT affects not only individual citizens, but also companies of all sizes and across all sectors. Of all the benefits of ICT use, the most important appears to be the improvement of competitive capacity by removing geographical and time barriers. SMEs that use ICT hope to increase their market share, achieve growth and overtake their competitors. But does better competitive capacity also have an impact on local and regional development (LRD)? And does LRD have an impact on the economy of a country and the limit of a nation? The ICT/regional development challenge is a sizeable one, since the two elements evolve at very different speeds-ICT evolves quickly, while regional development is achieved slowly. Regional development at both the economic and social levels extends over a given area, within a well-identified space. The people living within the region have shared interests, goals and needs. They share, cooperate and collaborate between themselves and with the region’s stakeholders and businesses. The principal concepts underlying their actions are autonomy, partnership, solidarity, a sense of belonging, inter-personal and intercompany networks, creativity, innovation and so on. Regions, like businesses, must live with competitors both near and far. If we look at all these elements, ICT in general and e-business in particular1may well be powerful factors in local and regional development, playing an innovative role in an economic sector where both time and distance have been redefined. E-business can also generate new economic activities, new products and new services. It constitutes a vital part of the new economy, which is composed of high technology, multimedia and dot.com firms. Throughout the industrialized world, a number of ICT and e-business initiatives have been proposed to support and accelerate LRD (EuroCom, 2002). For example, some governments have proposed projects that will enable them to follow the pack, while in other countries projects have emerged from the bottom up, through regional and local economic portals or electronic markets.

Palm oil is one of the commodities of plantation products that has an important role in economic activities in Indonesia because of its ability to produce vegetable oil which is much needed by the industrial sector. The potential development of Indonesia's palm oil exports is very high considering the many benefits derived from these products. Therefore, there is a need to ensure that CPO products have a sustainable nature, one of which is that CPO products must be RSPO certified. This study analyzes how the influence of various factors that can affect Indonesia's CPO exports, one of which is RSPO certification using panel regression with the basic gravity model. The data which is used in this research is panel data in the form of time series for 20 years with cross sections from five major importing during 1999-2018. The analysis shows that importer’s GDP and exchange rate significantly and positively affect Indonesia's CPO exports, while the population of the importing country has a significant and negative effect. The RSPO dummy variable shows a significant and positive value, meaning that there was a significant difference between CPO exports when the RSPO certification took effect before and after 2008. Although the RSPO has an effect on Indonesia's CPO exports, there are still a number of indicators from the RSPO that Indonesia has not been able to fulfill. That indicator can be used as a material for consideration to be adopted in national certifications such as ISPO so that Indonesian CPO products can be said to be sustainable so that they can reach wider export markets.

Tanjungsari is one of the districts in the Gunungsewu Geopark area, Gunungkidul Regency. Since Gunungsewu was declared as a Global Geopark Network area by Unesco, the tourism sector in this area has grown rapidly. Tanjungsari District does not want to be left behind in developing the tourism sector. Therefore it is necessary to trigger the development of tourism. In this district, there are several caves that have the potential to be developed, including Cave Bentar, Cave Cabe, Cave Tritis, Cave Grengseng, and Cave Pakubon, which have their own uniqueness and appeal in terms of morphology, endokarst, and legends. The development of these potential places is expected to be able to improve the economic sector and the welfare of the surrounding community. In order for the caves in Tanjungsari District to be able to compete, the concept of development must be different and not yet developed in other places, namely cave geo-ecotourism. In connection with the above-mentioned matters, research, studies, and feasibility studies are conducted on the potential development of cave geo-ecotourism. The activities carried out include mapping the distribution of geomorphology, geological structures, subsurface conditions, underground water availability using the ERT geoelectric method, and cave tracking. The results of this study are a cave map and an inventory of the potential of the cave.

The Sundarban is a national park, biosphere reserve and tiger reserve in West Bengal, India. Pakhiralaya village is a part of Sundarban and it located exact opposite to the buffer area of Sundarban reserve forest. This village has its unique natural beauty and it is far from the noise of the city. But this area is suffering from backwardness and is one of the underdeveloped villages in Gosaba block. The main reasons for being backward are illiteracy, age old beliefs, unemployment, engagement with primary economic activities and lack of infrastructure. The overall backwardness of this village seriously affects the health condition of the village because villagers often use home remedies to treat serious health issues due to lack of proper medical facilities. They also do not have the proper knowledge to judge the seriousness of the disease which often leads to untimely death and also causes pre natal, natal, and maternal death. They also treat snake or other animal bites from local ojhas or gunins or quake doctors (local people with herbal medical knowledge, they are normally not registered as medical practitioners). The backward condition of this area also keeps the educated doctors or educated persons away. This certain conditions create a hopeless situation in the sector of health and hygiene.

The various forms of crises that have occurred at national and regional scale have not yet been fully felt in the dry areas, particularly in Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta Special Province. Interesting, these rural dry areas have been very resistant and flexible in facing the impact of the economic crisis. The major factor that has made this possible is self-reliance, which was triggered by the low degree of dependence on other places for various necessities. Most of the places provide them for themselves. As far as providing basic necessities are concerned, the rural community has not yet shown symptoms of anxiety. Some saving has actually been carried out, but there is not yet any sufficient evidence of drastic decline in quality and quantity. From the beginning of the economic recession until today, saving for general (public) benefit, especially in social issues – (communalism), which is usually difficult to establish, could be easily accepted with no resistance from the community. The prospect of the rural economic sector of the dry lands can be divided into two broad categories, that is the survivor sector, and the inferior sector. The survivor sector comprises of economic activities that will continue to persist even if there is no growth, like agriculture and animal husbandry. The inferior sector on the other hand, include those activities, which are not very effective in addressing the economic crisis, and even potentially risk vanishing, like industry, trade and service sectors. The biggest impact is however, more felt in the non- economic sector, particularly those to do with services like health and family planning.
