To study the features of infrared radiation of concrete fracturing water seepage and water inrush process ,concrete is pressurized with no water press and water press to uniaxial compressive stress .The experimental results show seepage point of concrete block in the process of destruction of water inrush with different characteristics. The IR radiation of seepage point shows an rise in early term, then partial low temperature, and rise in late term. Before water seepage water pressure let heating increase slowly, when water seepage makes temperature drop low in the water seepage point and it‘s aslo the reason of concrete water seepage and water inrush come early .Base on the experimental results, the mechanism of infrared radiation in no water press and water press are analyzed, the difference between them also be discussed. The experimental results are useful for infrared remote monitoring and disaster warning on concrete projects.

Foraging animals use diverse cues to locate resources. Common foraging cues have visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile or gustatory characteristics. Here, we show a foraging herbivore using infrared (IR) radiation from living plants as a host-finding cue. We present data revealing that (i) conifer cones are warmer and emit more near-, mid- and long-range IR radiation than needles, (ii) cone-feeding western conifer seed bugs, Leptoglossus occidentalis (Hemiptera: Coreidae), possess IR receptive organs and orient towards experimental IR cues, and (iii) occlusion of the insects' IR receptors impairs IR perception. The conifers' cost of attracting cone-feeding insects may be offset by occasional mast seeding resulting in cone crops too large to be effectively exploited by herbivores.

Experiments were carried out to investigate the cooling effectiveness of a lamellar double-decker impingement/effusion structure. Infrared radiation (I.R.) thermal camera was used to measure the temperature on the outside surface of the lamellar double-decker. Experimental results were obtained for a wide range of governing parameters (blowing rate M (0.0017∼0.0066), the ratio of the jet impingement distance to the diameter of film hole H/D (0.5∼1.25), the ratio of the distance between the jet hole and film hole to the diameter of the film hole P/D (0, 3, 4), and the material of double-decker (Steel and Copper)). It was observed that the local cooling effectiveness η varies with all these parameters in a complicated way. All the results show that higher cooling effectiveness η is achieved in larger blowing rate cases. A certain range of H/D and P/D can be designed to result in the maximum cooling effectiveness η. And η is less sensitive to the material type compared with those parameters such as H/D, M and P/D.

The paper focuses on the experimental results of a series of tests performed on a hybrid electrical source. The hybrid generator is made up of a fuel cell primary source equipped with an ultracapacitor storage device. The paper presents an examination of the steady-state and transient performance of the hybrid fuel cell-ultracapacitor source in terms of power quality. The aim is to investigate on fuel cell-ultracapacitor source’s behavior to feed pulsing loads.

The effects of using oxygen to partially or wholly replace fuel air in small-size melting furnaces were studied over a range of application fields. Following definition of the useful parameters, testing was conducted on furnaces for melting glass, ferrous metals (pigiron), nonferrous metals (copper alloys), and ceramic materials. In all cases, oxygen-enrichment was found to provide significant energy savings, as well as notable advantages in terms of both plant output and energy consumption.

The purpose of this study was to observe the characteristics of infrared radiation spectrum of Zigong acupoint (EX-CA1) within the menstrual cycle of healthy female. We used highly sensitive infrared radiation spectrum detection system and phase-locked amplification technology to detect and analyse the infrared radiation spectrum from 1.5μm to 18μm of 32 healthy female before, during, and after menstruation at EX-CA1 and control points. The results showed that the total radiation intensity of left EX-CA1 was significantly higher than that of left control point (P<0.05) at the whole menstrual cycle, and the difference between right EX-CA1 and right control points was statistically significant before and after menstruation (P<0.05), no statistical difference during menstruation. Previous studies found that the radiation near 15μm was correlated with glucose metabolism. The results of this study showed that there were statistical differences in 10 wavelengths between left EX-CA1 and left control point from 14μm to 18μm, and there were statistical differences in 3 wavelengths on the right side (P<0.05). The left side is more prominent than the right side. The infrared radiation intensity of EX-CA1 decreased gradually with the change of cycle rhythm within menstrual cycle, but there was no statistical difference in this trend. There was no statistical difference in total radiation intensity between the right and left side of EX-CA1. Compared with the control points, the number of different wavelengths between left EX-CA1 and left control point during menstruation was significantly larger than that between right EX-CA1 and right control point (P<0.001). The results indicated that the energy of EX-CA1 was higher than control points. There was no difference in the radiation intensity between the right and left sides of EX-CA1 but there was acupoint laterality compared with nonacupoints. There was no significant rhythmic change in infrared radiation intensity of EX-CA1 during the menstrual cycle.

The atmospheric transmittance of infrared radiation is the important parameter on the studies of infrared radiation, the Computation of atmospheric transmittance is professional and complicated and it is inconvenient for the application of engineering and technology. In order to gained the atmospheric transmittance of infrared radiation rapidly when the height of infrared apparatus place and the down range distance between infrared apparatus and infrared object are changed, Lagranges two unknown quantities and three points interpolation is used to computer the interpolations of the atmospheric transmittance of infrared radiation by the MODTRAN software, then the available data of atmospheric transmittance are gained. The experimental results show the interpolation method is effective and valuable in engineering applation.

The absorbance of the evanescent waves of infrared radiation transmitted through an optical fiber depends on the geometry of the fiber in addition to the wavelength of the electromagnetic radiation. The signal can thus be enhanced by flattening the midsection of the fiber. While the dependence of the absorbance on the thickness of the midsection has already been studied and experimented upon, we demonstrate that similar results are obtained using Monte Carlo methods based simply on geometrical optics, given the dimensions of the fiber and the power distribution of the fired rays. The optimization can be extended to fibers with more complex geometries of the sensor.

The strategy and technique exploited in the synthesis of nanostructure materials have an explicit effect on the nucleation, growth, and properties of product materials. Nanoparticles of zinc sulfide (ZnS) have been synthesized by new infrared radiation (IR) assisted and Stokes’ law based controlled bottom-up approach without using any capping agent and stirring. IR has been used for heating the reaction surface designed in accordance with the well-known Stokes law for a free body falling in a quiescent fluid for the synthesis of ZnS nanoparticles. The desired concentration of aqueous solutions of zinc nitrate (Zn(NO3)2·4H2O) and thioacetamide (CH3CSNH2) was reacted in a controlled manner by IR radiation heating at the reaction area (top layer of reactants solution) of the solution which results in the formation of ZnS nanoparticles at ambient conditions following Stokes’ law for a free body falling in a quiescent fluid. The phase, crystal structure, and particle size of as-synthesized nanoparticles were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The optical properties of as-synthesized ZnS nanoparticles were studied by means of optical absorption spectroscopic measurements. The optical energy band gap and the nature of transition have been studied using the well-known Tauc relation with the help of absorption spectra of as-synthesized ZnS nanoparticles.

AbstractIn this paper, a resonant cavity method is developed and some experimental results for measuring dielectric constants of ceramic samples (e. g. Al2O3) under different sintering temperatures are reported. The experiments show that this method has higher precision and good prospects of in—line monitoring the high temperature dielectric constant in the process of raising the temperature of the samples. These results provide some scientific experimental basis for physical research of ceramic materials.
