This research examines which of the sub-dimensions of intra entrepreneurship (innovativeness, pro-activeness, risk-taking), and corporate social responsibility (CSR) support affects employee engagement (organizational and job engagement), which leads to employee creativity. The study uses survey data from SME employees in South Korea and applies the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)-Artificial Neural Network (ANN) approach, to find that innovativeness and CSR support affect creativity through mediating roles of organizational engagement and job engagement, where job engagement plays a mediating role in the relationship between organizational engagement and creativity. The study also examines how employee gender and marital status effects the relative importance of intra entrepreneurship, organizational engagement, and job engagement on creativity. Findings of ANN analysis evaluates the effects per group (male-unmarried, male-married, female-unmarried, female-married) and shows how the importance of organizational engagement, job engagement, CSR support and innovativeness differ for each group. Contribution to theory and practice are discussed.

Keeping employees engaged is strategically important. This paper analyzes the drivers of employee engagement from the point of view of organizational support for employee well-being. The article contains an analysis of data of 509 respondents from a faithbased higher education in Indonesia, conducted through PLS structural equation modeling analysis. The result indicates that the organization support in terms of organization internal communication, performance-based reward and recognition, and perceived organization support on holistic employee subjective well-being has a direct positive influence on employee engagement. The perceived organization support on holistic employee subjective well-being played a mediating role between employee engagement and teamwork dynamic, supervisor support, and work environment. The findings imply theory and practice especially in enhancing employee engagement experience through organizational support. For future research, we suggest including more various organizations and industries to better understand the variable interdependencies in various contexts.

Employee engagement and corporate social responsibility (CSR) are two important issues attracting an increasing amount of attention from both business communication researchers and practitioners. A theory-driven model that (1) conceptualizes employee engagement as social media engagement, job engagement, and organizational engagement, and (2) explicates how they are related to an organization’s CSR communication strategies and employee perceived CSR motives is still lacking. To place our study in the context of CSR and business communication, we proposed a strategies-motives-employee engagement model. Results from an online Qualtrics survey (n = 836) supported all our hypotheses except for the direct link between interacting CSR communication strategies and employee organizational engagement. We conducted a two-step Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis to test all our hypotheses. Theoretical and practical implications of the study were discussed.

Today’s organizations need energetic and engaged employees, those who are interested in their jobs. Generally, the engaged ones love their job and do their job tasks well. If there is no engagement in the organizations, the organization is encountered with serious problems in this ground. This study aims to design engagement assessment model in the organizations and its applied purpose is creating new theoretical basics in the maturity of engagement in the organization and this helps the organizations for better perception and consistency of organizational goals with the goals of employees. The employees of the National Iranian Oil Company constituted the population for this research. The National Iranian Oil Company was selected as the context, because employee engagement has emerged as a critical problem confronting this sector. 356 employees of this company were selected by simple random sampling method and data were collected using a questionnaire. The researcher attempts to answer the question how we can design an engagement assessment model in the organizations. The different dimensions of engagement are identified at individual and organizational levels and then based on the findings, the employees are classified based on the individual and organizational engagement and the results of this study can help the researchers for better recognition of this internal variable and this helps the better understanding of researchers to use it.

The present study examined corporate entrepreneurship (CE) influence upon business performance following the mediation of employee engagement. In all, 201 middle managers from big 5 banks in Pakistan were sampled for the present study. Through applying structural equation modeling to test statistical relationship, the results revealed significant positive relationship between CE and business performance. Accordingly, the results also indicated mediation of employee engagement in this relationship thus, supporting both the hypothesized relationships. The study is first of its kind, addressing critical gap concerning employee engagement in the domain of CE and business performance. The study presents critical explanations and potential implications through which CE prospects could help employees to feel obliged to respond back with higher engagement and business performance. Toward the end, the chapter also discusses future research directions and scope for further study.

The current study, which purposed to examine the mediating role of Employee Engagement (EE) in the relationship of Servant Leadership (SL) with the Organizational Performance (OP), was carried out in Jordan. The researchers distributed a questionnaire to 277 participants working in the private airline sector. The study’s findings showed that SL was positively linked with Employee Satisfaction (ES) and Employee Retention (ER) as indicators for OP. Finally; the findings indicated that EE partially mediates the relationships of SL with employee satisfaction and employee retention. The current research is the first empirical study of the airline sector in Jordan. It is also the first to focus on EE as a mediator of the effect of SL and employee retention using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for analyzing the data collected from employees working in the airline sector.

Purpose Only 13 percent of the world’s employees are engaged in their work, which has become a challenge for the managers of today. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the mediating role of employee engagement between perceived learning environment and extra-role behaviors. Design/methodology/approach This quantitative study collected data from 563 employees using a questionnaire-based survey on a convenience basis. Findings The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results of the study show that employees’ perception of learning environment urges them to perform beyond their formal job descriptions (i.e. extra-role behaviors) regarding proactivity, knowledge sharing and creativity. In addition, employee engagement performs the mediating role between learning environment and extra-role behaviors. Research limitations/implications The data for this study were collected at a single point of time (cross-sectional), which limits the inferences about the causality. Originality/value This study is perhaps the first attempt to empirically investigate the mediating role of employee engagement between the relationship of the learning environment and extra-role behaviors such as knowledge sharing, proactivity and creativity.

Employee voice which refers to the collective bargaining of employees in an organization, is gaining much attention and importance. Studies are linking the role and relationship between employee voice with many important individual and organizational outcomes. To understand its current state and influence, the present study tested employee voice and its influence on employee engagement and business performance. Following the relationship hypothesized model, the current study applied structural equation modeling using Smart PLS 3 and found a significant relationship between employee voice and business performance. In addition, the study also found significant influence of employee voice on employee engagement and business performance. The study also found that employee engagement was mediating the relationship between employee voice and business performance. The results confirm that employees who have the freedom and opportunity to share their ideas, opinions, and input in decision-making are likely to show high engagement, which contributes to increasing business performance. The study results offer important findings based on which implications are drawn for theory and practice for businesses aspiring to increase performance.

The current business environment characterized by high uncertainty, volatility, and stiff situation of competitiveness that is evident in almost every sector has increased the importance of workplace innovation for contemporary businesses. In this regard, a considerable attention in realizing employees of an organization as a source of innovation is not evident from the existing literature. In this aspect, the current study is an attempt to foster workplace innovation through employees in the SME sector of an emerging economy. In doing so, the authors propose that corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of an SME, along with workplace autonomy, are helpful in creating an environment at the workplace that fosters innovative employee behavior (IEB). Furthermore, the current study also extends the boundary condition of the theory of self-determination by arguing that this theory provides a comprehensive framework to explain employees’ motivation for workplace innovation. The data of the current survey was obtained from the SME sector situated in two large cities of a developing country through a self-administered questionnaire which was then analyzed through structural-equation-modeling (SEM) using the AMOS software. The results confirmed that CSR directly relates to IEB and workplace autonomy mediates this relationship. The study also discusses the implications of this survey for theory and practice.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is regarded as an effort to be undertaken by the businesses to contribute towards society at large positively. The idea behind the concept of CSR is that businesses are required to pursue the notion of pro-social objectives along with economic objectives. Research has long established that corporate social responsibility, along with its philanthropic nature, can also produce extraordinary marketing results for businesses. The relationship between CSR and consumer loyalty is well acknowledged in extant literature. Likewise, involving consumers through co-creation in the product/service development process may provide an exciting experience to consumers, which is likely to influence their loyalty. With these arguments, the present research investigates the impact of CSR on consumer loyalty with the mediating role of co-creation in the banking sector of an emerging economy such as Pakistan. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is used for data analysis in the present study. The results validate that CSR improves consumer loyalty, and co-creation partially mediates this relationship. The results of the current survey will help banking institutions to identify how they can develop core strategic considerations based on CSR and co-creation.

Organizations are increasingly being responsible for providing good and healthy work environment that can help in supporting employees performing their duties. Supportive work environment can increase the degree of employee engagement, which in turn, makes them more attached to their roles. The purpose of the current study is two-folded: to investigate the effect of work environment on engagement, and to test ethical decision making as a mediator between environment and engagement. Data were collected from a sample of 237 employees from transportation corporations listed on the Amman Stock Exchange (2019) in Jordan. Structural equation modeling was utilized to test the model. Results proposed that engagement was significantly related to work environment and ethical decision-making. Work environment has a greater effect on employee engagement than on ethical decision-making. Moreover, the effect of ethical decision-making on employee engagement was greater than the effect of work engagement on ethical decision-making. Furthermore, the study yielded support for the claim that ethical decision-making played a significant role in the relationship between work environment and employee engagement. Therefore, employees having good working conditions and making ethical decisions tend to get higher levels of employee engagement.
