Composting is an important technology used to treat and convert organic waste into value-added products. Recently, several studies have been done to investigate the effects of microbial supplementation on the composting of agro-industrial waste. According to these studies, microbial inoculation is considered to be one of the suitable methods for enhancing the biotransformation of organic materials during the composting process. This review provides up-to-date research findings on microbial inoculation strategies and their role and functions in enhancing the composting process and the improvement of compost quality. Based on this review, the addition of microorganisms could enhance the composting process such as accelerating the organic matter degradation, mineralization and microbial enzymes activities, and the quality of the end-products such as high germination index. It is important to notice in this strategy that sludge’s microbial consortium is feasible to enhance the composting process in pilot-scale and industrial-scale productions. Besides, it also reduces the cost of compost production. The findings of this review show the various positive impact of microbial inoculation on agro-industrial waste composting which in turn might be useful as a reference for selecting a suitable inoculum based on the type of waste materials.

Prevalence of neurocognitive diseases in adult patients demands the use of wearable devices to transform the future of mental health. Recent development in wearable technology proclaimed its use in diagnosis, rehabilitation, assessment, and monitoring. This systematic review presents the state of the art of wearables used by Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients or the patients who are going through a neurocognitive disorder. This article is based on PRISMA guidelines, and the literature is searched between January 2009 to January 2020 analyzing four databases: PubMed, IEEE Xplorer, Elsevier, and ISI Web of Science. For further validity of articles, a new PEDro-inspired technique is implemented. In PEDro, five statistical indicators were set to classify relevant articles and later the citations were also considered to make strong assessment of relevant articles. This led to 46 articles that met inclusion criteria. Based on them, this systematic review examines different types of wearable devices, essential in improving early diagnose and monitoring, emphasizing their role in improving the quality of life, differentiating the various fitness and gait wearable-based exercises and their impact on the regression of disease and on the motor diagnosis tests and finally addressing the available wearable insoles and their role in rehabilitation. The research findings proved that sensor based wearable devices, and specially instrumented insoles, help not only in monitoring and diagnosis but also in tracking numerous exercises and their positive impact towards the improvement of quality of life among different Parkinson and neurocognitive patients.

This research aimed to study the cost potential of shallot in Rasi Salai District, Sisaket Province in order to lead to planning on pricing, marketing, improving the quality of shallot and analyzing data of farmers and shallot production. The research findings on the general information of shallot farmers revealed that they consisted of 75% of males and 25% of females with 40-49 years of age or 50%. Most of their educational levels were 55% of primary level or lower. They grew shallot together with other crops. The Bang Chang varieties (local shallot varieties of Sisaket Province) were grown most of 75% and the other 25% of local northern verities called Hom Bua. The 70% of planting shallots were harvested from the last season and the other 30% were purchased from other farmers in the market.  The shallot productivity per rai was uncertain depending on the caring, fertilizing and disturbing disease. Approximately 35% of the farmers harvested 1,200-1,500 kilograms per rai or 25%. Regarding the production cost of shallot, it was found that the average mount was 8,151.5 baht per rai with the highest amount of verities of 3,250 baht per rai or 15.2%. The cost of insecticide was 1,000 baht or 10.2% of the total cost. In addition, the least cost was transportation for 3.3% only because most merchants bought shallots at the farming sites.  According to sale data, 70% of the farmers sold local verieties of Sisaket Province with average price of 30 baht per kilogram, followed by 15% of Hom Bua with an average price of 45 baht per kilogram. The average income earned by farmers in each household was different at 20,001-25,000 baht per rai

The practice of pharmacy is evolving from a product-related focus to one that is more patient-oriented and outcome-directed. This new focus can reduce the cost and/or improve the quality of care. Pharmacists often detect and resolve medication-related problems, though few reimbursement incentives exist for the amount of time and effort it takes. With statutory restrictions on the total use of pharmacy technicians and state-mandated OBRA patient counseling and prospective drug utilization review, community pharmacists are pressed for time more than their hospital colleagues to document their daily interventions for improving drug therapy for their patients. PharmD students can assist the community pharmacist in documenting these medication-related problems. Documentation of these "cognitive" or "value-added services," including their outcome on cost and care, is critically necessary for future reimbursement consideration by third-party payers. Preservation of green mass of plants is an ancient method, which was used to preserve the nutritional value of feed in hermetic conditions. Enzymatic processes in the green mass of plants occur in a natural way due to the epiphytic microflora, which under anaerobic conditions begin to actively multiply and produce lactic acid. This acid is a good natural preservative, which lowers the pH of the medium to the acidic side (up to 3.8-4.2), contributing to a decrease in the vital activity of pathogenic microflora, thereby positively affecting the quality of canned voluminous juicy feed. Currently, in the world practice in the procurement of voluminous succulent feeds, various preservatives are actively used in combination with the withering of the green mass of plants. At the same time, the economic effectiveness of their use depends on external factors, moisture and chemical composition of phytomass, the cost of preservatives used. In this regard, this article considers a comparative assessment of the effectiveness of the influence of various biologics in preserving the green mass of alfalfa, as domestic production (Ferbak-Sil (Kazan), Bioamid-3 (Saratov), Biotroph (St. Petersburg) and the foreign one (Sil-Oll (Great Britain)) under laboratory conditions, the positive effect of biological preparations on the preservation of nutrients was established. Among the tested preservatives, Biotrof biological preparation distinguished itself stimulated in the biomass of lactic fermentation, which in turn had a positive impact on the preservation of dry matter, crude protein and metabolizable energy, whose performance has been higher than the control at 7.58%, 6.64% and 5.56%.

Biodiesel production has considerably increased in recent decades, generating a surplus of crude glycerol, which is the main drawback for the economy of the process. To overcome this, many scientists have directed their efforts to transform glycerol, which has great potential as a platform molecule, into value-added products. A promising option is the preparation of oxygenate additives for fuel, in particular those obtained by the etherification reaction of glycerol with alcohols or olefins, mainly using heterogeneous catalysis. This review collects up-to-date research findings in the etherification of glycerol, either with isobutene (IB) or tert-Butyl alcohol (TBA), highlighting the best catalytic performances reported. Furthermore, the experimental sets employed for these reactions have been included in the present manuscript. Likewise, the characteristics of the glycerol ethers–(bio)fuel blends as well as their performances (e.g., quality of emissions, technical advantages or disadvantages, etc.) have been also compiled and discussed.
