As a key state parameter of high-voltage cables, conductor temperature is an essential determinant of the current carrying capacity of cables, but in practice, this is difficult to measure directly during the operation of high-voltage cables. In this paper, the electromagnetic-thermal coupling analysis model of a 110 kV high-voltage cable is established using the finite element analysis software COMSOL. By analyzing the temperature distribution law of high-voltage cables under different load currents and ambient temperatures, the relationship between the change in the high-voltage cable surface temperature and the conductor temperature is deduced, which allows the monitoring of the high-voltage cable conductor temperature. Taking the 110 kV cable of the Yanzhong line in Shanxi Province as an example and using the electromagnetic-thermal coupling temperature field analysis method, the conductor temperature of the high-voltage cable can be measured using the data obtained from the cable surface temperature, which is measured by the self-developed Raman Distributed Temperature Sensor (RDTS) system with a maximum measurement error of about 2 °C. The method is easy to use and can achieve the accurate measurement of the conductor temperature without damaging the cable body.

In order to analyze the mechanical properties of the remaining carrying capacity of steel reinforced concrete columns after exposure to fire, full preparations must be needed. In this paper, the numerical simulation of the temperature field of steel reinforced concrete column section was being adopted the finite element analysis software MSC.MARC to analyze. Temperature distribution law of the column cross-section in the case of uneven fire was obtained. There has a nice agreement between calculation and original test data which created the conditions for high temperature and high temperature performance analysis for SRC columns

This paper deeply studies the characteristics and “uplift bearing capacity” of a novel type of inflatable recyclable anchor in the tube piece. The proposed novel inflatable recyclable anchor in the tube piece type comprises a metallic rod, an inflatable anchorage device, and a recovery device. Fifteen field uplift tests are conducted to investigate the effects of inflation pressure, thickness of the steel disc, embedment length, and time lapse between anchor inflation and pullout on “the uplift bearing capacity.” The results show that “the uplift bearing capacity” of the novel inflatable anchor in the tube piece type increases with the increase of inflation pressure, thickness of the steel disc, and embedment length. With the increase of inflation time, “the uplift bearing capacity” of the novel inflatable anchor experiences an increase after first experiencing a decrease. The finite element analysis method is used to establish a numerical analysis model of the inflatable anchor, and the distribution law of the tensile stress of the surrounding soil during the pullout of the anchor is analysed. Compared with the traditional grouted anchor, the proposed anchor has an obvious superiority in recyclability, reusability, and swifter formation of anchorage force and thus is a resource-saving and environmentally friendly anchor technology.

A three-dimensional finite element analysis model was developed using ABAQUS to simulate the temperature distributions of circular concrete filled steel tube reinforced concrete column in this paper. The influence of main parameters on the temperature distribution, such as heating time, section diameter, and steel tube diameter, was analyzed. This provides valuable information about structural fire resistance and structural behaviour of concrete filled steel tube reinforced concrete column structure under fire.

Based on electromagnetic-thermal coupling field mechanism, a large-scale finite element analysis model for electromagnetic-thermal coupling global damper is established by ANSYS software. Electromagnetic field and temperature field sequential coupling analysis method is used in this study. Relative permeability and resistivity of magnetic material with temperature is also considered in the FE model. The simulation results show that the temperature of self- decoupling magnetic damper rises rapidly under external excitation, the temperature changes the magnetic fluid yoke and the materials’ core parameters, magnetic flux density in damper channel gradually decreases with the time, and the damping force decreases, finally the high temperature decline phenomenon is revealed.

In low temperature environment, electric heating clothing can provide extra heat for human body through built-in heat source, so it has better thermal insulation effect. The thermal analysis is the initial step for electric heating clothing design. The current thermal analysis of electric heating textiles focuses on the fabric itself instead of the effect of skin tissue metabolism and heat production. In order to improve the accuracy of skin surface temperature prediction, the biological heat transfer need be modeled to analyze the internal temperature distribution of the heating suit system. In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) thermal analysis model of electric heating clothing combined with human skin tissue is established. Firstly, the coupling analysis of Fourier heat conduction and Pennes biological heat transfer equation is carried out. Then the reliability of the 3D thermal analysis model is verified by finite element analysis (FEA). The results show that the fitting error between the three-dimensional model analysis data and FEA simulation data is 5°C, which proves that the model can accurately predict the system temperature. Finally, we make further research about the effects of ambient temperature, clothing layer thickness, and input power on the maximum skin surface temperature. This study provides theoretical foundation for the design of wearable thermal management fabric.

In order to achieve high thrust density and low thrust ripple simultaneously, a multiobjective optimization design method is applied to ironless permanent magnet linear synchronous motor with non-overlapping windings. On the basis of the magnetic field analysis model, the analytical formulae of key parameters such as No-load back EMF, thrust per copper quality and thrust ripple was deduced. Further, a multiobjective optimization is carried out by genetic algorithm to search for the optimal design variables. The design optimization is verified by 2-D Finite Element analysis and experimental results of the prototype.

We propose a model to give us a method to investigate the characteristic three-dimensional directivity in an arbitrarily configured flexible electret-based loudspeaker. In recent years, novel electret loudspeakers have attracted much interest due to their being lightweight, paper thin, and possessing excellent mid- to high-frequency responses. Increasing or decreasing the directivity of an electret loudspeaker makes it excellent for adoption to many applications, especially for directing sound to a particular area or specific audio location. Herein, we detail a novel electret loudspeaker that possesses various directivities and is based on various structures of spacers instead of having to use multichannel amplifiers and a complicated digital control system. In order to study the directivity of an electret loudspeaker based on an array structure which can be adopted for various applications, the horizontal and vertical polar directivity characteristics as a function of frequency were simulated by a finite-element analysis model. To validate the finite-element analysis model, the beam pattern of the electret loudspeaker was measured in an anechoic room. Both the simulated and experimental results are detailed in this article to validate the various assertions related to the directivity of electret cell-based smart speakers.

Stray capacitances (SCs) are a serious issue in high-voltage (HV) applications. Their presence can alter the circuit or the operation of a device, resulting in wrong or even disastrous consequences. To this purpose, in this work, we describe the modeling of SCs in HV capacitive dividers. Such modeling does not rely on finite element analysis or complicated geometries; instead, it starts from an equivalent circuit of a conventional measurement setup described by the standard IEC 61869-11. Once the equivalent model including the SCs is found, closed expressions of the SCs are derived starting from the ratio error definition. Afterwards, they are validated in a simulation environment by implementing various circuit configurations. The results demonstrate the expressions applicability and effectiveness; hence, thanks to their simplicity, they can be implemented by system operators, researchers, and manufacturers avoiding the use of complicated methods and technologies.
