More and more digital 3D city models might evolve into spatiotemporal instruments with time as the 4th dimension. For digitizing the current situation, 3D scanning and photography are suitable tools. The spatial future could be integrated using 3D drawings by public space designers and architects. The digital spatial reconstruction of lost historical environments is more complex, expensive and rarely done. Three-dimensional co-creative digital drawing with citizens’ collaboration could be a solution. In 2016, the City of Ghent (Belgium) launched the “3D city game Ghent” project with time as one of the topics, focusing on the reconstruction of disappeared environments. Ghent inhabitants modelled in open-source 3D software and added animated 3D gamification and Transmedia Storytelling, resulting in a 4D web environment and VR/AR/XR applications. This study analyses this low-cost interdisciplinary 3D co-creative process and offers a framework to enable other cities and municipalities to realise a parallel virtual universe (an animated digital twin bringing the past to life). The result of this co-creation is the start of an “Animated Spatial Time Machine” (AniSTMa), a term that was, to the best of our knowledge, never used before. This research ultimately introduces a conceptual 4D space–time diagram with a relation between the current physical situation and a growing number of 3D animated models over time.

This paper presents and discusses the results regarding the initial steps (selection, analysis, preparation and eventual integration of a number of datasets) for the creation of an integrated, semantic, three-dimensional, and CityGML-based virtual model of the city of Vienna. CityGML is an international standard conceived specifically as information and data model for semantic city models at urban and territorial scale. It is being adopted by more and more cities all over the world.

The work described in this paper is embedded within the European Marie-Curie ITN project “Ci-nergy, Smart cities with sustainable energy systems”, which aims, among the rest, at developing urban decision making and operational optimisation software tools to minimise non-renewable energy use in cities. Given the scope and scale of the project, it is therefore vital to set up a common, unique and spatio-semantically coherent urban model to be used as information hub for all applications being developed. This paper reports about the experiences done so far, it describes the test area and the available data sources, it shows and exemplifies the data integration issues, the strategies developed to solve them in order to obtain the integrated 3D city model. The first results as well as some comments about their quality and limitations are presented, together with the discussion regarding the next steps and some planned improvements.

The pavements of the sidewalks are not simple roofs for the floor of cities. The correct specification and application of the materials not only guarantees the accessibility of this space, but also favors and enhances the urban mobility of pedestrians, the walkability, much defended by several professionals of urbanism. Have you stopped to observe the city we live in? The streets, the sidewalks and all of your public areas? Note the immense "invasion" of public space, making life on sidewalkssomething stimulating and interesting, by the enormous confusion implanted: kiosks, street vendors / street vendors, cars parked in a forbidden place and sometimes on the sidewalks, barbecues, holes, steps, obstacles, furniture and urban equipment very poorly located, results of the complete dysfunction ofthis space. The problem observed reflects the current dismay of people and public authorities in relation to accessibility, mobility and safety of people, especially those with reduced mobility, disabled or not. That said, this work objectives tofind a floor of easy installation and low cost that meets the principles of universalaccessibility, urban aesthetics and enhances the mobility of people in the city with autonomy and security. Based on an observational and photographic study of the sidewalks of the Pelinca neighborhood, together with a technical survey of existing sidewalks, the information obtained will be compared with the guidelines contained in the accessibility and urban mobility legislation in force, whether at the municipal, state and federal levels. The data extracted in the evaluation of existing floors, will provide subsidies, for the identification of a new type of pavement, contributing to the Public Power in the elaborationof booklets for the implementation and or adoption of guiding measures for the construction and reformulation of sidewalks, in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes

The article considers topical problems of forming public spaces in the city. The concept of public space is given, as well as the classification of a number of public spaces: by the type of their location in the fabric of the city and according to the level of social interaction; according to the functional purpose and style of the architectural and landscape organization. The issue of public spaces is considered. Examples of different types of residential courtyards of cities in Western Europe are given, as well as the relevance of residential courtyard space in the system of a wide range of public urban spaces is emphasized. The question of the urgency of the development of adjacent spaces is raised, and also ways of their organization are considered. The problem of an integrated approach to the organization of adjacent spaces is raised. The means of forming an individual non-traditional process due to the use of natural and artificial materials for the design of the yard are given; creation of green modules from ground cover plants, flowers, and shrubs; change in the character of the relief with the formation of hills, slopes, waves, including various types of vegetation; overcoming stereotypical approaches to choosing the type of plantings of trees, shrubs and flower beds, offering three-dimensional solutions with the use of greenery and more. To assess the visual qualities of the environment of open spaces within the residential area, it is proposed to use indicators that are able to store their qualitative and quantitative сharacteristics: parameters of space, parameters of visual perception. As a result of this study, recommendations were developed for the formation of the design project of the yard space in the existing building. Ways to improve the quality of yards are formulated. Keywords: urban environment, yard, playground, yard space, comfortable environment.

Abstract. As stated by the UNESCO, cultural heritage is both a product and a process that provides societies with a wealth of resources that are inherited from the past, they are currently created present and transmitted to future generations for their benefit. According to its needs each country has regulated and taken actions aimed at preserving its heritage (UNESCO,2017). In the case of the city of Bogotá, different regulations have been enacted seeking to protect and preserve the cultural heritage. Recently, the Instituto Distrital de Patrimonio Cultural (IDPC) (District Institute of Cultural Heritage), with the Secretaria de Planeación Distrital and the Instituto de Desarrollo Urbano, began developing work of an inventory and valuation of the sculptures and monuments found in the public space of Bogotá. In this context, this project seeks to contribute, from the academy, in the virtualization of the cultural heritage of the city by using the Photogrammetry SfM. For this purpose, two emblematic monuments of the city have been selected in order to reconstruct them three-dimensionally and therefore contribute to their conservation as a heritage. The chosen monuments correspond to a replica of the sculpture of San Agustín No. 28 which represents the God of War of that culture and the Rebeca, first nude located in public place in Bogota. Several images were taken from each monument, using different device and software’s. The product obtained meets the initial expectation of three-dimensional reconstruction and establishes a workflow to be applied to other monuments in the city or anywhere.
