Intelligent information technology (IIT) based on AI and intelligent network communication technology is rapidly changing the social structure and the personal lives. However, IIT acceptancefrom various perspectives still requires extensive research. The research question in this paper examines how five factors—psychological, technological, resource, risk perception, and value factors—influence IIT acceptance. Based on an analysis of survey data, it was first found that the acceptance rate of IIT itself was generally very high. Second, in terms of IIT acceptance, among twenty-five predictors, voluntariness (+), positive image of technology (+), performance expectancy (+), relative advantage (+), radical innovation (+), and experience of use (+) were found to have significant effects on the IIT acceptance. Third, in addition to technological factors, psychological factors and risk perception factors also played an important role in individuals’ decisions regarding IIT acceptance.

This chapter reviews the literature about the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which is an information systems models theory that explain how users come to accept use a technology determined. The model suggests that when users are presented with a new technology, a number of factors influence their decision about how and when they will use it. While TAM is one of the most influential models used in the studies of the technology acceptance and empirically proved to have high validity, it must be used to a certain extent with caution, because with the internationalization of companies, there is a growing need to understand how cultural factors can affect the ability of a multinational organization to adopt and use information technologies. This model provides a foundation for further research to understand why users accept or reject information technology and how to improve the acceptance.

Tech-friendliness in this new era is an important quotient considered and the persons’ acceptance towards the technology frequency matters a lot. But still the frequency varies from person to person, this brought in the concept of Technology Acceptance Model given by Fred Davis in 1989. The theory of TAM is based on two theories that are Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behavior, TAM is extended version of these two. Green Banking is a new technology introduced by the banks that focuses on the growth of Sustainable development and Banking system too. Thus, banks ask their customers to use it or practice it in their daily life transactions. But every customer has their own point of view on the usage of Green banking. Thus, the research aims to understand the customers’ perception towards the Green Banking for this TAM is used. The research states that Perceived risk is the primary factor that is followed by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use that impacts the decision to use green banking. Thus, the behavioral intention results in actual use of green banking usage for which people are trying to accept the new technology. So, the banks have earned points for creating awareness among their customers but still they have to work hard and clarify their customers’ problems and vanish that hitch that is stopping them to use green banking easily.

BACKGROUND Many theories/ models adopted from behavioral sciences literature or developed within the field of information technologies could help in understanding the technology acceptance, usage, and effective adoption. OBJECTIVE The main aim of this paper is to review the different theories/ models that can help in understanding information technology/system acceptance and use, and to choose the most appropriate theoretical framework that could be applied to understand the factors influencing physicians’ use of the Electronic Health Record system (EHR) at King Fahd Military Medical Complex (KFMMC) in Dhahran city, Saudi Arabia. METHODS The theories/ models were reviewed using scientific databases. The inclusion criteria were if the theories/ models used to explain individual behaviors toward accepting and using of information technology including the once conducted within the healthcare. RESULTS The review showed that there were five theories/ models were used within information technology studies to understand the technology acceptance and used. There were Theory of Reasoned Action, Theory of Planned Behaviour, Innovation Diffusion Theory, Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology, and Technology Acceptance Model. Each has different explanatory power of technology use. The most appropriate theoretical framework to understand the reason behind physician use of the EHR at KFMMC would be the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). TAM model could explain up to 75% of the variation in the behavioral intention (acceptance), and up to 62% of the variation in the actual use. It is the gold standard for assessing the usage of health technologies and systems. In fact, the TAM model is one of the core models used to explore the physician’s perceptions of the Electronic Health Record system adoption. CONCLUSIONS This review showed that there are different theories available in the literature can be used to justify the reason behind electronic health record acceptance. TAM is one of the effective, simplest models used to understand the factors influencing physicians to use the EHR-system. Further studies need to apply the TAM model to check its ability in explaining the reason behind EHR within different hospitals in Saudi Arabia

E-learning is a method of delivering knowledge using information technology and electronic media for the remote users. The advantages of e-learning method can be fully achieved with the postgraduate studies as majority of the postgraduate students are engaged in learning while they are working and also geographically dispersed due to the family and work life thus physically appearing for the lecture sessions are difficult to them. This paper attempts to develop a framework to measure the postgraduate students’ perceived technology acceptance by developing a modified version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) which replaces perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use in the original model of TAM with relative advantage and complexity and incorporate other variables of trialability, observability, compatibility, psychological wellbeing and social influence of the students. The developed model is validated using 30 postgraduate students from Sri Lanka and thus this model can be used in future researchers to measure the perceived e-learning acceptance of postgraduate students.

Abstract Older adults with a chronic health condition (e.g. hypertension) use various self-management methods. Healthcare technologies have the potential to support health self-management. However, it is necessary to understand the acceptance of these technologies as a precursor to older adults’ adoption and integration into their health plan. Our focus was on the factors older adults with hypertension initially consider when introduced to three new healthcare technologies that might support their health self-management. We compared their considerations for a blood pressure monitor, an electronic pillbox and a multifunction robot to simulate incrementally more complex technologies. Twenty-three participants (aged 65–84) completed four questionnaires and a semi-structured interview. The interview transcripts were analysed using a thematic analysis approach. We identified the factors that were frequently mentioned among the participants for each of the three healthcare technologies. The factors that older adults initially considered were familiarity, perceived benefits, perceived ease of use, perceived need for oneself, relative advantage, complexity and perceived need for others. Upon further reflection, participants considered advice acceptance, compatibility, convenience, facilitating conditions, perceived usefulness, privacy, subjective norm, and trust. We integrated the factors that older adults considered into the Healthcare Technology Acceptance Model (H-TAM), which elucidates the complexity of healthcare technology acceptance and provides guidance for future explorations.

Iran has inordinate natural capacity to benefit from solar energy all year. Interim plansby the Iranian government have been implemented to develop energy transition in ruralareas, however, the outcomes have not been promising so far. This research seeks toaddress the question of what factors influence villagers’ tendency towards solar panelacceptance for domestic usage. To answer the question, a survey was conducted amongresidents who had not installed the new technology in the survey time. A model basedon the modified framework of the Technology Acceptance Model for energy transitionwas developed and data was collected from the northern part of Iran—Mazandaranprovince. The data revealed that through the mediating role of attitude, the strongesteffect on adoption intention relates to perceived usefulness. The paper discusses whysolar energy technology is not welcomed in the studied community. The findingscontribute to increase our knowledge about underlying factors on the development ofpublic adoption of renewable energies in a developing country.

Abstract: A Behavioral Study on Middle-Class Consumers in Adopting M-Commerce in East Java. The objective of this study is to examine factors that influence the behavioral intention of consumers in using and adopting m-commerce. This study combines Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT). The data of this study were collected through a survey and samples were selected by using convenience sampling technique with SEM-PLS requirement as many as ten times the number of paths. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of this study show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social influence, and personal innovativeness affecs behavioral intention. Furthermore, behavioral intention affects actual user, i.e. consumers, to use and adopt m-commerce information technology. This study implies that vendors of m-commerce information technology and management should pay more attention to and reconsider perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social influence, personal innovativeness, behavioral intention, and consumers as actual users, when they make decision regarding adoption and appliance of m-commerce.Keywords: m-commerce information technology adoption, consumer behavior, Technology Acceptance Model, Theory of Planned Behavior, Innovation Diffusion TheoryAbstrak: Studi Keperilakuan Konsumen Kelas Menengah dalam Pengadopsian M-Commerce di Jawa Timur. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menguji faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi minat perilaku konsumen dalam menggunakan maupun mengadopsi m-commerce. Studi ini menggunakan metode survey, sampel dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling, dan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah SEM-PLS. Studi ini menemukan bahwa konstruk persepsi kegunaan, persepsi kemudahan penggunaan, pengaruh sosial dan keinovatifan pribadi berpengaruh terhadap minat perilaku. Selanjutnya, studi ini juga menemukan bahwa minat perilaku berpengaruh terhadap pengguna yang sesungguhnya, yaitu konsumen, terkait dengan penggunaan maupun adopsi m-commerce. Implikasi studi ini adalah vendor layanan teknologi informasi m-commerce dan manajemen harus memperhatikan dan mempertimbangkan lagi persepsi kegunaan, persepsi kemudahan, pengaruh sosial, keinovatifan pribadi, minat perilaku dan konsumen sebagai pengguna sesungguhnya dalam mengambil keputusan terkait dengan pengenalan dan adopsi m-commerce.Kata kunci: Adopsi Teknologi Informasi M-commerce, Perilaku Konsumen, Technology Acceptance Model, Theory of Planned Behavior, Innovation Diffusion Theory
