Nowadays, small hotels are the most popular and intensively developing sector of the hotel industry. The modern typology of small hotels has significantly expanded and it includes new types of focus at a specific target segment of consumers. Customer focus is the most characteristic feature of small hotels and it is reflected in the organizational features of the functional and planning structure of the service areas in small hotels. The article is devoted to the discusses of the main and additional functional areas of small hotels (service part) based on the analysis of modern experience in the design and construction of small hotels, as well as the analysis of regulatory documents and scientific work on the design of this type of facilities. The main variants of functional schemes of the reception and lobby area, public catering area, consumer service and trade area, cultural and leisure, business, fitness and recreation, administrative and production areas, and areas for servicing cars (only for motels) are given. Conclusions are drawn about the direct relationship between the form of organization of the functional and planning structure of the service areas of small hotels with their specialization. It is concluded that the presence and composition of various functional areas of small hotels is always determined by a combination of the following external factors: type of hotel, location, level of comfort, contingent of guests. The tendency of consolidation and unification of separate functional zones of small hotels for maximum optimization of their space is revealed.

With the development of megalopolises, constant expansion of their borders and chaotic and – to a greater extent – unreasonable territorial division of lands, potential recreational areas are experiencing colossal anthropogenic load and can be found in the state of oppression, gradually moving into an industrial functional zone, from the environmental point of view. For the preservation of ecosystems and rational planning of urban development, it is necessary to pay special attention to the functional purpose and mode of use of the sites, which are the essence of zoning and governance in the field of urban development of land. This paper presents a geoecological assessment of the dynamics of changes in pollution halos among the functional areas of the Eastern Administrative Okrug of Moscow over the past 30 years. Geochemical series of pollutants were compiled with the help of methods of preliminary preparation and statistical data processing. A forecast of the spread of pollution in the surface horizon for the next 100 years is presented, taking into account the hydrogeological features of the territory of the Eastern Administrative Okrug of Moscow.

The vegetation of the Samara Region is characterized by a relatively high content of copper. This biogeochemical feature is typical for natural and technogenic transformed ecosystems of the region. Copper is included in the group of elements of the 2nd hazard class. At certain concentrations it is necessary for the normal functioning of all organisms, but with increasing concentrations in the environment or in food it shows toxicity. The technogenic sources of copper include metalworking and machine-building enterprises, fertilizers, road and rail transport, wastewater, products of incomplete fuel combustion and refining characteristic of the Samara Region. The peculiarities of copper accumulation and distribution in soils of urban areas of the region are insufficiently studied. Previously, such studies were carried out only in certain areas of Samara. The paper analyzes in detail the level of technogenic copper pollution of the soil cover in Novokuybyshevsk. Ecological and geochemical studies in Novokuybyshevsk were carried out for 3 years (2016-2018) on 7 stationary test plots in its different functional areas and on 1 background test plot. The objects of research were soil samples taken from the upper humus horizon (layer 0-10 cm). The quantitative content of copper in soil samples was determined by the method of inversion voltammetry. A comparative analysis revealed territories of Novokuybyshevsk with relatively high, medium and low levels of copper in the soil. The first group included the Park Dubki in its elevated part, the old residential area on Kirov Street, the roadside area at the intersection of Pobeda Avenue and Dzerzhinsky Street (93,3-90,7 mg/kg). The second group with an average copper content (71,0-73,3 mg/kg) included the square Elochki and a new residential area on Ostrovsky Street. The third group with a relatively low copper content (38,3-54,7 mg/kg) included three sample areas: the lowland part of the Park Dubki, the industrial zone and the background area. The concentration of copper in the soils of all studied functional zones in Novokuybyshevsk has not reached the level of approximate permissible concentration (APC), but more than the clark of the world soils and the background indicators. The downward trend in the concentration of copper in the soils of most of the studied functional zones of Novokuybyshevsk in 2018 compared with 2016 and 2017 at the relatively low level of copper content in soils of the industrial area of the city allows to exclude oil refineries from the list of its major anthropogenic sources.

Sustainability has long been a buzzword and is also currently one of the major priorities of tourism all over the world. In many places, hotels function as a driving force for socio-economic development, serving as employers for the local population, but also providing space for meetings, conferences, private/family events, and ceremonies. Unfortunately, the hotel industry is also considered an industry characterized by the consumption of considerable amounts of resources. These include mainly energy and water consumption, but also waste production. Emphasis is placed on the role of the communication between the various players involved in the operation of hotels. The article deals with applying elements of green management in a selected hotel in Czechia. It analyses the implementation of green management elements and principles of sustainable development in accommodation services. The primary data were conducted from April 2017 to March 2018 and we used structured and semi-structured interviews with the TOP management of the hotel and by author observation. We used the methods of scientific work, i.e., the analysis, mathematical, and statistical methods. As part of economic and social activities, cooperation with suppliers in the close surroundings of the hotel and the selection of local employees work well. Room for improvement has been observed, e.g., in supporting local infrastructure or promoting environmentally friendly types of transport.

The urban greenness distribution between functional areas of a medium-size city Birobidzhan was assessed. To this end, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) values were calculated based on Sentinel 2 multispectral imaging. Birobidzhan is characterized by a large scatter of NDVI values (from –0.5 to +1). Areas with high levels of greenery are prevalent. They are found in different types of functional zones, but are specific mainly to natural recreational, agricultural, and individual build-up zones as well as to special areas. The spatial distribution of green infrastructure is highly contrast. The downtown part as well as the industrial and storage zones feature a combination of built-up areas with dense woody vegetation, which is often represented by fragments of preserved natural vegetation. In addition, a feature of the contrast is that low level of tree greenness is characteristic for the built-up districts of the city. Thus, in the city of Birobidzhan, ecological functions are largely performed by the natural vegetation present in the natural recreational zones on 70% of the city's area.

Aim. To study the features of morphological changes of the thymus gland (thymus) of reproductive period rats amid the administration of the immunosuppressant cyclophosphamide.Methods. Thymus preparations were studied using an image analyzer based on CX-41 Olympus microscope. The morphological and functional areas of the thymus were determined relative areas (as a percentage) occupied by subcapsular, inner cortical zones of the cortex and thymic lobules medulla; cells distribution density, the percentage of cellular elements: lymphoblasts, small, medium and large lymphocytes, macrophages, mitotically dividing, destructively altered cells epithelioreticulocytes.Results. A statistically significant reduction in the relative area of subcapsular and inner cortical zones of the cortex, as well as an increase in this parameter in the thymic medullary parenchyma after 1-30 days after administration of cyclophosphamide were found. The cell density is reduced both in the cortex and in the medulla. Cytoarchitectonics of the thymus morphological and functional zones changes: a decrease in relative content of lymphocytes, mainly of young forms, as well as increase in the percentage of macrophages and destructively altered cells occurred. Maximum deviations of studied parameters was recorded after 1 and 7 days after drug administration. In 60 days after cytostatic administration morphometric characteristics of the thymus morphological and functional zones in laboratory rats do not have significant differences from the parameters in control animals of appropriate age.Conclusion. A single administration of cyclophosphamide leads to acute thymic involution, which is manifested in a decrease in the relative area of the cortex, lobules deformation, organ fatty degeneration, decrease in the relative content of lymphocytes, increase in the percentage of macrophages and destructively modified cells, which may be indicative of a high degree of reactivity of the animals thymus; results of the study may serve as morphologic evidence of the damaging effect of cyclophosphamide on the thymus lymphoid tissue.

The TPH-in-soil of three functional zones (industrial, residential, agro-residential) of Khabarovsk have been studied. Areas of acceptable, low, moderately hazardous, moderate, high and very high pollution levels have been identified. It has been found that the TPH-in-soil of different urban functional areas differs significantly. For statistical processing of experimental data, the Boxplots method ("box-and-whiskers diagram") has been used. It has been proposed to switch to the median value of the aggregate sample of the TPH-in-soil in residential and agro-residential areas as the baseline data.

The subject of scientific work is a set of theoretical and methodological issues of development of institutional support for innovation based on the analysis of modern experience of developed countries and the possibilities and directions of its application in the Ukrainian practice of financial and economic processes. The object of study is a system of institutions operating in the innovation sphere of the economy, taking into account the influence of incentives. The scientific novelty lies in the development of theoretical provisions and the development of recommendations of a practical nature for the development of a modern system of institutional support and stimulation of innovative development of economic entities. It is indicated that the level and results of innovation do not meet the needs of Ukraine's economy, do not provide economic growth. In this regard, the author proposes to improve the situation through the introduction of borrowed practices of the necessary institutional norms of highly developed countries, which will address a number of pressing issues. They concern both the reform of the existing domestic system of public administration and the formation of an institutional framework to support and stimulate innovative development in Ukraine in general. Institutional reform of the system of accumulation, dissemination of knowledge, their transformation into an innovative product and intellectual capital must take place, and vice versa. To do this, the article analyzes the concept of institutions and innovation, systematizes the list of institutions of innovative development and identifies features of modern changes in the institutional environment of the economy; the world experience is analyzed and the directions and measures of realization of institutional bases of stimulation of innovative activity are defined.

The article analyzes the master plans and functional areas of 42 cities from different federal districts of the Russian Federation. To identify the dependencies between the characteristics of localities and the allocation of functional zones in them, the data clustering method was applied. Also criteria for clustering were identified – these are quantitative characteristics that are universal for various localities: total area of a locality, population, population density and gross regional product. With these criteria clustering was carried out using the software package «Deductor», based on algorithms of neural network modeling. Self-organizing Kohonen maps (SOM) were used to visualize the obtained data. As a result of the clustering the connection between the characteristics of localities and the ratio of functional zones in them is revealed.
