Soft skills are regarded as combination of social, emotional, communication and personal skills which promote workplace effectiveness regardless of qualifications or knowledge acquired. This paper linked soft skills to business education teachers’ job effectiveness. Three research questions guided the study. The study population includes all the secondary school principals, Vice-principals, Heads of Department and students that offer business education-related subjects in Ilorin Metropolis, Nigeria. Random sampling and stratified techniques were used to select 316 participants. We used adapted structured questionnaires tagged “Teachers’ Soft Skills Questionnaire (TSSQ)” and Business Education Teachers’ Job Effectiveness Questionnaire (BETJEQ). We used descriptive statistics to answer the research questions and Pearson Products Moment Correlation (PPMC) to test hypotheses. We found the level of business education teachers’ soft skills and their job effectiveness to be high at 70.6% & 64.6 %. Also, the result revealed a strong, positive linkage between the two variables, r = 0.866, n = 316, p < .000. By implication, Soft Skills will promote teachers’ job effectively positively. That is, the higher the soft skills in the teachers, the better their effectiveness. Therefore, we recommended for practice based on the findings that special training in form of workshop should be organised for Business education teachers on regular basis by government in collaboration with professional bodies to promote up-to-date soft skills that are transferable and promote teaching effectiveness.

This study was carried out to determine the measures for promoting democracy in a depressed economy through business education for national security in Enugu State. Two research questions and two null hypotheses were used for the study. The study adopted a survey research design. The population for the study was 41 business educators from four government owned tertiary institutions in Enugu State. There was no sampling since the population was manageable. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire developed by the researchers and validated by the experts. The reliability of the instrument was determined using Cronbach Alpha, which yielded an overall index 0.72. Mean and standard deviation were used in answering research questions while hypotheses were tested using t-test. It was found that governmental measures items promoted democracy through business education for national security. The study also revealed that lecturers‟ measures also promotes democracy through business education for national security. It was recommended that: government should make adequate budgetary provision for business education. Democrats should be involved in business teacher‟s conferences and seminars.

AbstractSeven major types of sampling for observational studies of social behavior have been found in the literature. These methods differ considerably in their suitability for providing unbiased data of various kinds. Below is a summary of the major recommended uses of each technique: In this paper, I have tried to point out the major strengths and weaknesses of each sampling method. Some methods are intrinsically biased with respect to many variables, others to fewer. In choosing a sampling method the main question is whether the procedure results in a biased sample of the variables under study. A method can produce a biased sample directly, as a result of intrinsic bias with respect to a study variable, or secondarily due to some degree of dependence (correlation) between the study variable and a directly-biased variable. In order to choose a sampling technique, the observer needs to consider carefully the characteristics of behavior and social interactions that are relevant to the study population and the research questions at hand. In most studies one will not have adequate empirical knowledge of the dependencies between relevant variables. Under the circumstances, the observer should avoid intrinsic biases to whatever extent possible, in particular those that direcly affect the variables under study. Finally, it will often be possible to use more than one sampling method in a study. Such samples can be taken successively or, under favorable conditions, even concurrently. For example, we have found it possible to take Instantaneous Samples of the identities and distances of nearest neighbors of a focal individual at five or ten minute intervals during Focal-Animal (behavior) Samples on that individual. Often during Focal-Animal Sampling one can also record All Occurrences of Some Behaviors, for the whole social group, for categories of conspicuous behavior, such as predation, intergroup contact, drinking, and so on. The extent to which concurrent multiple sampling is feasible will depend very much on the behavior categories and rate of occurrence, the observational conditions, etc. Where feasible, such multiple sampling can greatly aid in the efficient use of research time.

In the pedagogical and glottodidactic literature numerous publications have been devoted to the competences of the teacher, their roles, functions, ways of working with the learner, teaching strategies, teaching styles, class management styles, and finally, models of teacher education. However, it seems that in the vast majority of these publications the authors concentrated on the so-called hard competences, valuing them more than soft skills , and neglecting, or even marginalising, the range and particular components which possibly play a crucial role in the initiation and development of didactic cooperation between the teacher and the learner. At the same time these soft skills are perhaps able to some extent compensate for what is lacking in the range of the teacher hard competences. This article presents the theoretical background and an outline of a research project concerning FL teacher competences. The glottodidactic process is treated as a kind of game where the most important for the teacher in this ludic approach is ludic competence. The article presents hypotheses and research questions which are to be verified in a research planned for the coming year.

In order to look for the answers of these questions, Thamel area was chosen for study site as it is popular among people and the major tourism hub in Nepal. The findings of the study show varied association in between tourism sector and tourism security sector on the specifics such as tourism, hospitality, events and security in Nepal. Although tourism enterprises increasingly realize the aspects of tourism, hospitality, events management and relevant security parameters, but the extent to which they are strategically used varies. The assessment revealed the impacts of tourism on security aspects and vice versa. So, the impacts of security situation on tourism sector have a certain and intermingled association. Even the findings aligned with above said statement which reflects the limitations and gap in between the tourism sector and tourism security sector in term of setups, coordination and execution. That is why, it roves and looking for the rational, empirical and cognitive improvement and development on those identified aspects which are keenly observed during the research process.

Introduction:Non-random selection into a study population due to differences between consenters and non-consenters may introduce participation bias. Past investigations of factors predicting consent to collection of medical health records for research imply that age, sex, health status, and education are of importance for participation, but disagree on the direction of effects. Very little is known about influences on consent from adolescents. Methods:Two cohorts of Swedish 15-year-old twins (totaln= 4,611) previously invited to the Child and Adolescent Twin Study in Sweden (CATSS) responded to a questionnaire with information on sex, individual's health, height, weight, and parental factors. The questionnaire included a question for consent to collection of medical health records. Predictors for consent were analyzed using logistic regression. Additionally, regional differences in the collection of health records of consenters were evaluated. Results:Males were significantly less likely to consent compared to females (OR 0.74, 95% CI 0.64–0.85). The twin siblings’ decision to consent was strongly associated with consent (OR 10.9, 95% CI 8.76–13.5), and individuals whose parents had responded to the original CATSS study were more likely to consent to record collection at age 15 (OR 2.2, 95% CI 1.81–2.75). Results of the subsequent collection of consenters’ medical health records varied between geographical regions of Sweden. Conclusion:We identified several predictors for adolescents’ consent to collection of their medical health records. Further selection was introduced through the subsequent record collection. Whether this will induce participation bias in future studies depends on the research questions’ relationship to the identified predictors.

Soft Skills are the non-technical abilities that a person possesses when dealing with himself (intra-personal skills) and others (inter-personal skills). While morals are the nature of deeds that have been embedded and rooted very strongly in a person so that to do it will be easy and easy without any thoughts and considerations. The role and duties of teachers are not limited to transferring knowledge. Personality competence and social competence are needed as soft competences to educate students' morals. This shows that the soft skills of a teacher become software that always accompanies the learning process.
