Based on Riskedas data in 2013, the prevalence of mental disorders in Indonesia is about 6% of the population has emotional disorders and 1.7% of serious mental disorders. In West Java the prevalence reaches 1.6%, while in Tasikmalaya City there are 171 sufferers. Mental disorders can be caused by biological, psychological and socio-cultural factors, it can also be caused by inadequate provision of patient care, especially in small towns and villages. Patients with chronic mental disorders need care management that involves various elements in the healing process, such as family, community and caregivers. The role of care giver which is very influential in the patient's healing process, they are in charge of providing emotional support and the necessities of life. The complex problems in patient care caused many of them not to be well cared for. One of the phenomena was found at the Mentari Hati Social Institusion. The caregiver's low educational background, and lack of knowledge in care, are among the factors causing the ineffective treatment provided. For this reason, a mental nursing service management program is needed which is managed in a Community Mental Health Nursing (CMHN) program which aims to empower caregivers by providing consultation and education services, and providing information on mental health principles. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the care giver's ability to care for mental patients.

The mental health of nurses participating in patient care is under threat amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This study aimed to identify the mental health status (depression, anxiety, and stress) and its influencing factors on nurses who provided patient care at a specialized hospital for COVID-19 in South Korea. Of the 180 nurses who participated in this study, 30.6% had moderate or higher levels of depression, 41% had moderate or higher anxiety levels, and 19.4% had moderate or higher stress levels. In this study, stigma influenced nurses’ mental health, such that the higher the stigma, the higher the nurses’ depression, anxiety, and stress. Depression was higher in female nurses than in male nurses, and stress was higher in charge nurses than nurses in other job positions. Therefore, a management program should be designed to improve the mental health of nurses during the current pandemic. In particular, a solution to reduce stigma is required, and the mental health of female nurses and nurses in leadership roles requires special attention.

AbstractBackgroundData are progressively accumulating regarding the transition to adult services.MethodsA comprehensive search using the MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, and Cochrane databases up until 16 March 2015 was conducted in order to summarize recent evidence on the transition from child to adult mental health services for patients with mental disorders. Authors extracted data and assessed study quality independently.ResultsThe main findings of the 33 included studies were discussed taking into consideration four aspects: experiences of patients, carers, and clinicians, accounts of transition, current services models and protocols, and outcomes of transition. Of the 33 studies, 17 focused on a specific mental disorder: seven on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, four on intellectual disability, three on eating disorders, two on serious emotional disorders and one on autism spectrum disorder. An attempt was also made to integrate the studies’ conclusions in order to improve transitional care.ConclusionsThe review reveals an evident need for longitudinal, controlled, health services research to identify and evaluate optimal service models with systematic and seamless transition protocols for patients with mental disorders requiring continuity of care into adult mental services.

Such information can be useful for having a proper approach to and intervention for our students' health condition. Aim: To determine the mental health status in all of the students who study in one medical university. Methods: After invitation of all 790 students, 688 accepted to take part in this cross sectional study. We used the 28-items of General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) to evaluate mental health status. Results: Over one third (37.8%) of our participants had mental disorders. There was no difference between genders. Emergency medicine students had the most prevalence of mental disorders (51.4%). The increase in the years of education was associated with that of the risk of involvement. Social dysfunction and depression were more prevalent than somatization and anxiety symptoms. Lower level of graduation was associated with higher depressive symptoms and medical students were at higher risk for social dysfunction. Conclusion: Prevalence rates among the students of the medical university are higher in comparison with the population and needs serial evaluation plans to screen and prevent mental disorders in this part of the population.

Health is an investment to improve the quality of human resources. Both physically and psychologically healthy. The mental nursing area includes giving care to healthy mental, client and mental disorders clients. Mental health services are no longer focused on healing clients of mental disorders, but also on efforts to promote mental health or prevention efforts. This effort can be carried out by health workers and community participation through community empowerment. Community empowerment of mental health can be achieved with a health service management especially community-based mental health services. This form of health care management approach is known as Community Mental Health Nursing (CMHN). The purpose of this community service is to realize the formation of RW Siaga Sehat Jiwa (RW SSJ) with the participation of the Mental Health Cadre (KKJ). RW SSJ is a forum for the KKJ to carry out activities and apply the abilities obtained through training. With the increasing ability of the KKJ in overcoming health problems, it is hoped that the community can play an active role in realizing health status in their environment. The method used is the nursing process approach. It is expected that the KKJ has the ability to carry out early detection, determine family status and care for family risks and disorders, refer cases to health centers and or hospitals.
