Sexual and reproductive behavior, and outcomes of that behavior, are treated in thisarticle in the framework of sexual and reproductive health. The focus is on teenagers.European trends in sexual behavior and in fertility/births from the 1980s to the late1990s are presented. The transition in sexual initiation started first in the Nordic countries, then in manyWestern European and Central European countries and finally, one generation later,in Southern and Eastern Europe. The age of women at first sexual intercoursedecreased several years almost everywhere in Europe. Due to improvements in sexeducation and in the use of contraceptives, teenage birth rates have been declining,at the same time, around Europe. There is a serious need for sexual health prevention campaigns and related servicesin Europe. Work for improvement of sexual and reproductive health and rights canbe successful only in a society where there is openness and social tolerance onsexual issues.

In the article, the authors raise the issue of protection of the reproductive health of adolescent girls. 50 adolescent girls, who studied in the technical and humanitarian classes of the secondary general school in Vladimir, were enrolled in the study. They had participated in the anonymous questionnaire survey for 3 years. It was found that the majority of adolescent girls had a low level of knowledge on reproductive health, as well as altered sexual behaviour (attitude toward the family, motherhood, childbirth, abortion, marriage), moreover the indicators on these issues deteriorated with the passage of time. The religious schoolgirls from families with two or more children showed the «highest» reproductive attitudes; they were negative about abortion.

ABSTRACT This study assessed the effect of training program on teachers’ knowledge of and attitude toward reproductive health education/ sexuality education (RHE/SE) in five randomly selected rural schools in rural area of Wardha district, Maharashtra, India. All the 40 teachers in the selected were recruited for the study. They (40 teachers) were all given training in RHE/SE for 1 month. Their knowledge and attitude toward RHE/SE were assessed pre-and post-training program. The results show a significant increase in percentage of those who had good knowledge in general areas of RHE/SE at post-training assessment compared with pretraining assessment [from 14.3% to 53.6%, p = 0.0001). Also, pre-post attitudinal disposition assessments show that there was an increase in percentage of those who were favorably disposed to the teaching of RHE/SE. The study suggests that RHE/SE should be included and made compulsory in all training program for all teachers in india. How to cite this article Acharya N, Sabiha, Hariharan C, Gupta S, Athavale R. The relevance of the study of the impact of living standards on the reproductive behavior of men and women is due to the complexity of the demographic situation at the national level, the inconsistency of the reproductive behavior of Russians, the need to develop predictive hypotheses of fertility, as well as identify institutional solutions that can be used to develop new measures in the framework of state programs to increase the birth rate in the Russian Federation. The empirical basis of the study is data from representative sample surveys: sample observations of the population’s reproductive plans, which were conducted by Rosstat in 2012 and 2017, as well as the results of the first wave of the all-Russian sociological study “Demographic well-being of Russiaˮ, conducted in late 2019 — early 2020 under the guidance of Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor T. K. Rostovskaya. The results of the study will be used in monitoring and implementing family policy measures at the micro- , meso- and macrolevels: forming the conceptual and legislative framework for family and demographic policy; evaluating the effectiveness of family and demographic policy.
