This study aims to compare the inheritance law in Egypt with the existing inheritance law in the compilation of Islamic law in Indonesia. More specifically, this comparative study focuses on the issue of mawani’ irtsi (barrier of inheritance) and inheritance of dzaw arham (relatives of male or female). This is a qualitative research based on library research. The content analysis method is used to describe mawani’ irtsi and dhaw arham in the inheritance laws of Egypt and Indonesia. The results of this study indicate differences between the inheritance laws of Egypt and Indonesia; first: the compilation of Indonesian inheritance law always adjusts to the times, while the Egyptian inheritance law is still traditional by maintaining the views of classical scholars. This is evident when it explained one barrier to inheritance namely religious differences; second: Indonesian inheritance legal material explored classical books, studied modern legislation, and observed local traditions. This can be seen when it explained that men and women get the same share as long as the basis of their agreement. While Egyptian inheritance laws do not take into account modern legislation and do not adopt local traditions; third: the material description in the compilation of inheritance law in Indonesia is concise and sometimes general in nature while the description of the material inheritance law of Egypt is more detailed. This is seen when it explained one of the barrier of inheritance is intentionally killing an heir. In the inheritance law of Egypt, it is explained in detail about types of killings which are a barrier to inheritance, while in the compilation of Indonesian inheritance law is explained in general.

Objective: This eScience in Action article describes the collaborative development process and outputs for a qualitative data curation curriculum initiative led by a library faculty (research data specialist) at an R1 research university. Methods: The collaborative curriculum development activities described in this article took place between 2015-2020 and included 1) a college-wide “call out” meeting with graduate methods instructors and additional one-on-one conversations, 2) a year-long training series for disciplinary faculty teaching graduate-level qualitative research methods courses, 3) guest lectures and co-curricular workshops, and 4) the development of a credit-bearing graduate-level course. Results: This practice-based article includes a reflection on the collaborative curriculum development process and impacts, including the development of networks between the Library and qualitative researchers across campus. The article provides a proof-of-concept example for developing relevant and trustworthy library data services for humanities and qualitative social-science researchers. Conclusions: Curriculum development activities focused predominately upon researcher-centered perspectives and identified needs. However, changes in institutional expectations for library faculty (i.e. requirement to teach credit-bearing courses) played a major role in how the curriculum was implemented, its impact and continued sustainability of outputs going forward.

Basically, every PAI curriculum development requires a clear and solid foundation, so that it is not easily swayed by the flow of transformation and innovation in education and learning that is so powerful as it has been lately. If the innovation, in general, tends to be top-down innovation through the power coercion strategy or coercion from the superiors in power. The change in curriculum from the KBK to KTSP is expected to be able to make Islamic religious education more able to make the quality of religious education more able to make changes in Indonesia. In addition to changing the morals of better students, it is hoped that it can also increase knowledge. In accordance with the objectives of the curriculum changes themselves who want to improve the quality of students, both intellectual, emotional and spiritual quality.
