The issue of drug addiction and illegal trafficking continues to plague nations across the globe. Between 153 and 300 million individuals, or 3.4 to 6.6 percent of the world's drug abusers aged 15 to 64 years, having used drugs at least once a year, with almost 12% (15.5 to 38.6 million people) of users being heavy addicts. Initially created for medicinal reasons (therapy), opioids became a political target for those seeking profit by introducing harmful addictive chemicals. Addition of hazardous addictive drugs may precipitate a person's hallucinations and addictions, wreaking havoc on the neurological system and organs of the body and ultimately resulting in death. The risks of drug addiction have prompted many nations to implement laws aimed at protecting citizens and prohibiting drug trafficking. This restriction eventually spawned illegal commerce and the growth of global marketplaces

The main objective of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is economic development in its region but directly unproductive profit seeking activities such as drug trafficking is the prominent barrier to reach this goal. All members spend lots of money to fight against drug trafficking, as all of them suffer from drug addiction and drug related problems. The first step to cope with this problem is to identify the factors and incentives that make this region vulnerable for drug trafficking activities and to unearth what makes this region a haven for drug traffickers. A bulk of literature supports the concept that organized criminal organizations are not able to operate when there are not any forms of corruption since they are strongly interrelated. In this paper, we analyze the link between drug trafficking and corruption in ECO region in order to develop ECO strategies to hamper and interrupt these transnational crimes. Corruption has posed major challenges to the efforts taken to control drug and also has seriously damaged the ECO members’ image in international community. One of the practical solutions is the responsibility of ECO organization in implementing rule of law in the region. Undoubtedly, fighting against corruption in ECO region is a joint responsibility of international and intercontinental community and this responsibility requires collective action and cooperation among countries in the region.

The psychopathology of drug addiction is reviewed. Empirical research data on a time span of more than twelve years are presented. The data support a four-type-based classification of drug abusers, and the family structure underlining such personality types is analyzed. Clinical cases are presented. Type A addicts (adjustment disorders) present an evident relation between the external event, psychic trauma, and drug-abusing behavior. Type B (neurotic disorders) have a tendency to reduce internal anxiety by drug abuse, and their personal problems may be covered by drug use. Type C (psychosis and borderline) are an heterogeneous group, where often drug use can create a intense experience of inner freedom. Type D (sociopathic personality disorders) often express their psychic conflicts by means of serious acting-out, and come from families were “nonexistent” marriages were established. Intervention in public health services is examined, as well as the evolution of the addiction depending on the typology. The special cases of information on HIV infection prevention and overdose risk are also evaluated. It is concluded that the typology of drug addicts may shed light on prevention and therapy, whereas more specific therapeutic programs are needed.

Addiction is a disease that alters the behaving and thinking of the brain of a person. When a person starts using drugs, it starts getting addicted to them and gradually it can’t help but act on the impulse to use them regardless of the damage caused to the body of addicted person. Drug isn’t about just illegal drugs. A person can get addicted to alcohol, painkillers, nicotine and other legal substances. Drug addiction is a deathly disease found in almost every year of age. The disease is mostly carried by people who are mentally frustrated, physically or mentally abused, facing financial problem or family problems and is desperate to get some sort of relief that comes with the high of drugs even if it proves to be grim for their health in the long run. Addiction starts with the continuous use of dosage of any drug, until the point that an individual starts feeling anxious without the availability of them. Slowly and painfully, these drugs starts making a person totally relied on them and it is basically impossible for the individual to survive without them. There can be many reasons as to why an individual decides to go on this path of addiction. Economic problems, state of utter sadness in case of the death of a loved one or a closed one, societal stress, isolation, aggression, bad or wrong company, in state of depression and anxiety are the most likely situations in which a person starts taking drugs. Along with many other factors, families often play a vital role in pushing an individual towards seeking comfort and relief from the drugs. Developing countries like Pakistan and many others are facing the problem as there are not many effective and active rehabilitation centers. In this research article, the role of families contributing in an individual’s drug addiction is elaborated. This research article is done with the help of many researches, as well as some interviews were conducted regarding certain factors and the answers were given according to the observation and views of responders. The conclusion is drawn with the help of articles and personal opinions and observations regarding how a person leans toward substance or drug usage because of certain family issues and problems.

AbstractA critical job task for law enforcement officers that should be influenced by strength is the body drag. This study analyzed relationships between absolute and relative strength measured by a one-repetition maximum hexagonal bar deadlift (1RM HBD), with body drags completed with 74.84 kg and 90.72 kg dummies. Twenty recreationally-trained individuals completed the 1RM HBD in one session, with peak power measured via a linear position transducer. Over two subsequent sessions, participants dragged the 74.84 kg and 90.72 kg dummies with two techniques. The first technique followed Californian standards, where participants wrapped their arms around the dummy and lifted it to standing before timing commenced. In the adapted technique, timing included the initial manipulation of the dummy. Participants dragged the dummy as quickly as possible over a 9.75 m distance. Partial correlations and linear regression (controlling for sex; p < 0.05) analyzed relationships between the HBD and body drags. The standard 74.84 kg body drag correlated with every HBD variable (r = -0.477 to -0.666), and was predicted by the absolute 1RM HBD (r2 = 0.467). The adapted 74.84 kg drag correlated with all HBD variables (r = -0.535 to - 0.754), and was predicted by peak power and the 1RM HBD (r2 = 0.758). Both 90.72 kg drags correlated with absolute and relative 1RM HBD (r = -0.517 to -0.670). Strength related to all body drags; peak power may be more important for drags with lighter loads. Strength training should be a focus in law enforcement to enhance drag performance.

The article is devoted to the analysis and generalization of the results of research on the state of combating drug crimes in Ukraine. The causes and conditions of drug addiction in terms of social phenomena in modern society are analyzed. Statistics on the commitment of crimes of drug trafficking are provided. Regarding some ways about improvement the fight against drug crimes are proposed. 23,163 cases of law violations in the field of drug trafficking and circulation of narcotic drugs were recorded in Ukraine during 2019. Among the general crime structure in Ukraine, drug trafficking crimes consistently take second place after crimes against property and has 12-14 % in total. This situation absolutely facilitates by the presence of organized crime in the country. Every year around 400 criminal groups and crime organizations are revealed, most of which are related to the illegal drug business. This fact indicates the group’s interest in the existence of such phenomena as drug addic-tion, to earn huge amount of money. Current situation is due of presence of an extensive network of drug trafficking both abroad and in the country. The reason of that is the fast development of excess profits (annual turnover of drug dollars in the world is over 500 billion US dollars, for Ukraine this number is about 1 billion US dollars). The public danger of drug trafficking is that it causes drug addiction of a huge part of the population of Ukraine, provokes the penetration of drug subculture on potential drug users, penetrates into educational institutions, the environment of gambling and entertainment business, it is related with general crime, contributes to HIV and AIDS. Unfortunately, presented information indicates that drug addiction and related drug businesses are potential threat to the national security of our country. There are not so many years for our country to correct current state, and to take under control the situation with drug trafficking, psychotropic substances, precursors and their analogues.

The purpose of this article was to shower light on the quality of life that mostly we expect. Life quality is determined by two aspects i.e., physiological and psychological aspects. While if a person is addicted by the drugs, then the both aspects of his/ her life is deteriorated to the extreme. Due to drug addiction, the negative psychological effects which arises are anxiety, stress, depression, and familial relationships while the negative physiological effects that arise from the drug addiction are weakness, headache, dizziness, and pain in the body, etc. The main objective was to evaluate the quality of life of Diamorphine addicts, behavioral stimulation and inhibition, perceived social competence, and the relationship between these variables; and check differences between drug addicts on these variables based on their belongingness to joint and nuclear family systems. To achieve the objectives, 10 Diamorphine addicts were taken from Azm Drug Rehabilitation center, Sargodha, through purposive sampling. A total number of 10 participants responded to the 26-items quality of life survey (WHO-QOL-BREF), 24-items BAS/BIS (BIS/BAS scale) questionnaire, and 5-items perceived social competence questionnaire (Perceived Social Competence Scale II). Results were analyzed via SPSS version 20. The results showed that all three variables in the study were not associated with each other. Quality of life and social competence correlated -.25 (p = n.s); quality of life and BAS/BIS had .30 (p = n.s); while social competence and BAS/BIS had -.16 (p = n.s). It may be due to the cultural settings of Pakistan. In drug addicts, BAS has high activity, and BIS has low activity. And there is no significant difference in these variables among addicts of the nuclear and joint family system.
