High efficient information sharing is the key factor to realize the integrated collaborative operation in through transport of railway freight. This paper presents a framework of information sharing among the railway enterprises and their customer enterprises. The information sharing demand was categorized into information sharing for demand-supply matching and the integrated collaborative operation. The information sharing content was defined according to the information sharing demand. Base on the current information technologies utilized in China’s railway freight transport, the framework of information sharing was constructed from four aspects: the hierarchy of information sharing, the mode architecture of information sharing, the methods of information collection and the supporting conditions of implementation.

Current information technologies totally rely on semiconductor devices and magnetic/optical discs, however, they are all foreseen to face fundamental limitations within a decade. Therefore, superseding devices are required for the next paradigm of high performance information technologies. This paper describes prospects for a molecular supercomputer which would be the only possible candidate beyond the silicon limitations. Possible four milestones for realizing the Peta/Exa-floating operations per second (FLOPS) personal molecular supercomputer are proposed. Current status and necessary technologies of the first milestone are described, and necessary technologies for the next three milestones are also discussed.

Following World War II, the German philosopher Martin Heidegger offered one of the most potent criticisms of technology and modern life. His nightmare is a world whose essence has been reduced to the functional equivalent of “a giant gasoline station, an energy source for modern technology and industry. This relation of man to the world [is] in principle a technical one . . . . [It is] altogether alien to former ages and histories.” For Heidegger, the problem is not technology itself, but the technical mode of thinking that has accompanied it. Such a viewpoint of the world is a useful paradigm to consider humanity’s relationship to law in the current information environment, which is increasingly technical in Heidegger’s sense of the term.Heidegger’s warning that a technical approach to thinking about the world obscures its true essence is directly applicable to the effects of current (as well as former) information technologies that provide access to law. While technology enhances accessibility and utility of law, technology also obscures law’s fundamental grounding in experience and language, thereby eviscerating its transformative power. The paper explains the nature of Heidegger’s criticisms of technology and modern life and examines the appropriateness of their application to the current information environment, especially in light of Heidegger’s early affiliation with Nazism and his subsequent denunciation of technologicism and “technological thinking.” The paper applies Heidegger’s criticisms to the modern legal information environment with particular reference to application of technology to subjugate the law to the status of an “information resource” devoted to various ends. The necessity of such step is determined by the urgency of adequate responses to the challenges of the current information civilization: exponential growth of non-systematized data; process of convergence on the basis of information technologies. The article contains the modernized content of course technology that realizes this concept.

SummaryAnimal models have added significantly to our understanding of adult hemorrhagic and thrombotic diseases. Few models, however, have been developed for studies of the hemostatic disorders in the fetus and newborn. This report reviews the current information on animal models of fetal and neonatal hemostasis. The requirements of a relevant model are addressed and previous studies using fetal and neonatal animal models are reviewed. A recommendation of a single animal for all studies of fetal and neonatal hemostasis is not possible. However, the lamb has been the most frequently studied and appears to provide relevant information regarding normal development and the factors which may adversely influence hemostasis in the fetus and newborn.

The article proposes a model for forecasting the success of student’s learning. The model is a Markov process with continuous time, such as the process of “death and reproduction”. As the parameters of the process, the intensities of the processes of obtaining and assimilating information are offered, and the intensity of the process of assimilating information takes into account the attitude of the student to the subject being studied. As a result of applying the model, it is possible for each student to determine the probability of a given formation of ownership of the material being studied in the near future. Thus, in the presence of an automated information system of the university, the implementation of the model is an element of the decision support system by all participants in the educational process. The examples given in the article are the results of an experiment conducted at the Institute of Space and Information Technologies of Siberian Federal University under conditions of blended learning, that is, under conditions when classroom work is accompanied by independent work with electronic resources.
