A convergence of quantum-field-based scientific, philosophical, psychological, esoteric, and religious research has contributed to a better understanding of Carl Jung's collective unconscious that is generating a paradigm shift in the scientific approach to cosmic reality and human purpose. Collective humanity now faces responsibility for intentional cosmic participation to change or reprogram this collective entity that is us. Because humans have significant agency in a universal frequency scaled-sentient and stratified unified field, human responsibility for influencing evolution is becoming more apparent. Indicators suggest that humans are responsible for an impending crisis of planetary extinction, which they are now capable of consciously re-programming. In this context, the author's extreme paranormal experiences of ‘IT'—a planetary analog for the collective human unconscious mind—is uniquely relevant.

An increasing number of works on the rural-environmental connection can be found at present. However, their overview and classification are needed – this is the guiding idea of this paper. We distinguish three approaches to the rural-environmental connection and label them scientific approach, environmentalist approach, and development approach. In the paper, theories of environmental concern (post-materialism, paradigm shift, and ecological modernisation) are discussed at first and then a classification of works is proposed.

We present a formalism that extends the Majorana-construction to arbitrary spin (j, 0) ⊕ (0, j) representation spaces. For the example case of spin-one, a wave equation satisfied by the Majorana-like (1, 0) ⊕ (0, 1) spinors is constructed and its physical content explored. The (j, 0) ⊕ (0, j) Majorana-construct is found to possess an unusual classical and quantum field theoretic structure. Relevance of our formalism to parity violation, hadronic phenomenologies, and grand unified field theories is briefly pointed out.

The observation of the “observed behaviors in action” is a complex act. Observation without evaluation of a single fact, except being in a solipsistic approach, can be seen as a relatively simple operation that allows a median intersubjective agreement. When the mission is to report of operative's phenomena that should lead, by consensus, to an assessment, we are in the presence of tensions. This evaluation will implement abstractions needed for the operation of the phenomena’s representations. These abstractions make use of concepts whose meaning can only be understood only in relation to its opposite: cold - hot, open - closed, operating – non-operating. Common sense tells us that the assessment is not a matter of choice between one of the words but need a gradation. Based on this observation (many times repeated by others before us), we are led to revisit our systems approach. It appears obvious to us that the approach to the entities’ identification that is connected to form a coherent whole is not sufficient. We must adopt an approach whose foundation may account for the processes, movements and tensions. Our study focused of the field theory. This brings us in the heart of a paradox: continuous-discrete. The same paradox has stimulated research in quantum field using particle and wave relation.

Presbyterians have historically advocated predestination and election as intimately related to the doctrines of God as sovereign Creator, providential ruler, and savior of his chosen people. Using Augustine’s interpretation of major Old and New Testament passages as a foundation, Presbyterians have generally understood election to be unconditional and to rest on God’s mercy necessitated by humankind’s original sin. John Calvin answered objections to the doctrines, emphasized predestination as a pastoral comfort to believers, and affirmed human responsibility. Calvin’s successors debated the order of God’s decrees and Jacob Arminius’s attack on Calvinism, which denied double predestination, interpreted predestination as conditional, and proposed prevenient grace as enabling all people to choose to be saved. Calvin’s views were reaffirmed by the Council of Dort’s five points in 1619 and upheld by Presbyterians in the Westminster Confession of Faith, adopted in 1646. In the nineteenth century, Friedrich Schleiermacher proposed a paradigm shift by rejecting original sin and arguing that God’s decree was based on his foreseeing faith in the elect. Presbyterians also debated whether Calvinism should be altered to conform to revivalist practices and whether the Westminster Confession should be revised in light of new theological trends. In the twentieth century, conservative Presbyterians continued to affirm traditional Calvinist theology, while most mainline Presbyterians either rejected or ignored it and focused on the work of the church.

Over the past decade traditionalists have launched a series of attacks on scientific approaches to international politics. Most of the arguments employed against the scientific approach stem from those used earlier by E. H. Carr in The Twenty Years’ Crisis. The general arguments that have been employed include these among others: that politics involves purpose in a way that physical science does not; that scientific knowledge is applicable to facts, but understanding, wisdom, or intuition are required for areas where human purpose is involved; that those pursuing scientific models tend to mistake their models for reality; that scientific method requires high precision and measurement and therefore is incapable of coping with the most important elements of international politics; and that the practitioners of scientific method can never be sure that they have not left something out of their model.

According to theological precedents and science—just as sub-human sentient scales exist—so must super-human scales of sentience exist in a quantum field structured as fractal geometry. If the human organism is multi-functionally “conscious,” so is the quantum field in which it is embedded. Just as differences exist among the frequencies of light, differences exist in harmonic scales of the universal frequency spectrum. The loosely defined term “consciousness” is too limited to express the cosmic range of “sentient” access to frequencies. Though humans have unique choice-making agency, theological-philosophical and experiential precedents which place limits on its coherence. With their emphasis on coherent choice-making, PSYCHecology video games (PEGs) could be designed as “dreamlike” analogs to harmonize functional agency. According to Jungian principles, these dream analogs could be employed to reinforce coherent humanitarian sentience with mediated biofeedback for the purpose of healing the collective unconscious.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to identify whether nurses recognize the completion of the technical procedure of installation of nasal CPAP in newborns and trigger the pain, and to propose, from the results obtained, the insertion of this technique, the list of procedures painful. Methods: this is a descriptive, exploratory study, which uses the quantitative approach. It was conducted in March 2009 at the intensive care unit neonatal (NICU) of a Federal institution from Rio de Janeiro city. The data were collected through a questionnaire, which were quantitatively, and analysis was performed using the frequencies and relative percentage. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (protocol number 0044/08). Results: from the 11 nurses interviewed, only 2 (18%) signaled the nasal CPAP as painful. The reality is that pain and its management in infants receive little attention in clinical practice. Conclusion: we conclude that there is need for a paradigm shift with regard to installation of nasal CPAP, which needs to be reviewed under a scientific approach, critical and reflective, considering the complexity of making it so we can play and do not care only a nurse. Descriptors: Premature; pressure continuous positive airway; nursing care; pain.

It is not always easy to draw a dividing line between true scientific theo- ries, erroneous but verifiable scientific theories and pseudo-scientific ones that are impos- sible to verify. As an example, this paper presents researches on various phenomena of extra-sensory perception, precognition, clairvoyance, distance communication, premonition for receiving SMS messages, phone calls or e-mails, which are classified in the domain of telepathy research. They were conducted within different paradigms, with diverse re- search methodologies and approaches, from anecdotal experiences, case studies and intui- tive reasoning, to careful recording of data and their statistical processing. In recent years, researches have been conducted using state-of-the-art “brain-to-brain” technology, which is used to register brain activities of the research participants. Telepathy has not remained uninteresting even to some modern physicists who find in Einstein’s theory of relativity and the laws of quantum physics the possibility of postulating a new quantum model of telepathy. This new, unconventional approach to the research of telepathy is conditioned by the paradigm shift in the research of this phenomenon and significant shifts from the pseudo-scientific to the scientific approach. This paper aims to point out the necessity of setting a clear demarcation line between scientific and pseudo-scientific research and building the ability of critical thinking, which is a condition for differentiating science from pseudoscience. Using a specific example of the phenomenon of telepathy, we underlined the importance of research in the development of scientific knowledge, but the kind of research that meets the reproducibility and verifiability criteria that clearly differentiate science from pseudoscience.
