E-taxation is one of the most popular e-government services. Most countries are focused on implementing an e-taxation system. The success of an e-taxation system depends on the taxpayers' acceptance of it. The taxpayers' intention to use an e-taxation system is determined by various factors. This chapter, based on empirical data collected from a survey of 505 respondents in Turkey, seeks to identify the factors that influence the taxpayers' acceptance of e-taxation system. It test various constructs of the UTAUT model – performance expectancy, trust perception, perceived risk, effort expectancy and facilitating conditions – on Turkish taxpayers' intention to use the e-taxation system. Structural equation modeling is used to analyze the effects of these variables on intention to use. The results indicate that performance expectancy and perceived risk have a significant impact on behavioral intention and that effort expectancy and facilitating conditions have a significant impact on intention to use.

The possibility of drone usage for food delivery is met with enthusiasm by businesses as it promises instantaneous benefits such as reduced costs, improved customer satisfaction, and reduced environmental imprint. The objective of this paper is to explore consumer attitude and intention towards adopting a disruptive technology such as drone food delivery in the Indian context through motivated consumer innovativeness (MCI), green image, and perceived risk. We analyzed the questionnaire survey data collected from 310 respondents using structural equation modeling—partial least squares method. Functionally motivated consumer innovativeness and cognitively motivated consumer innovativeness were found to be significant positive predictors of consumer attitude and intention. Perceived privacy risk was found to have a significant negative influence on attitude. Green image had a significant positive effect on attitude towards drone usage. Other components of MCI namely, hedonic and social as well as performance and delivery risk did not show a significance influence. This study, to our knowledge, is first of its kind in India, a populous country with an established and booming economy, where the enabling and impeding antecedents of drone food delivery usage intention is simultaneously studied. The findings of this research will mainly benefit food delivery companies in framing successful drone food delivery strategies.

Abstract Background: Inappropriate use of antimicrobial has resulted in some great public health concerns, such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Although the effects of clinical guidelines in standardizing clinical practice, controlling costs and reducing medical risks have been proved, the CPGs on antimicrobial hasn’t been widely applied in China yet. Furthermore, the influencing mechanism for the intention to the use of CPGs on antimicrobial remains largely unknown. Methods: By summarizing the relevant literature, the research model and self-administered questionnaire were developed. A national cross-sectional survey was conducted among physicians at tertiary general hospitals in the eastern, central, and western parts of China. Results: A total of 644 valid questionnaires were collected. The results of reliability and validity analysis showed the questionnaire was acceptable. The analyses of structural equation modeling (SEM) showed the proposed model fitted the data well with favorable values of fit indices. SEM results also revealed that seven determinants influence the intention to the use of CPGs on antimicrobial, including attitude (ATT), subjective norm (SN), perceived risk (PR), relative advantage (RA), ease of use (EOU), top management support (TMS) and organization & implementation (OI). Conclusions: The findings of this study revealed the significance of multifaceted factors to enhance the intention to use CPGs on antimicrobial. These findings will not only contribute to the development of targeted intervention strategies on promoting the use of CPGs on antimicrobial, but also provide insights for future studies about physicians’ adoption behaviors on certain health services or products.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of generation Y’s career establishment strategies on self-directedness career and to determine the moderation effect of gender on the relationship. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 188 full-time employees from different functional areas and departments of selected MNCs in Malaysian Electrical and Electronic Industry. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to examine the influences of establishment strategies and the moderating role of gender on self-directedness career. Findings Findings show that there are significant positive relationship between career strategies and self-directedness career at career establishment stages of generation Y. There is a significant difference between males and females in career establishment strategy (i.e. creating career opportunities) and self-directedness career. Research limitations/implications This paper explains self-directedness career based on the review of related career literatures whereby some may not specifically referring to Generation Y. Practical implications Such insights are useful for HRD practitioners dto develop relevant HRD interventions to assist individuals and organizations in career development. Originality/value This paper offers new insight into the predictors of self-directedness career and the moderating role of gender on the relationships.

Due to the fact that Chinese tourists are becoming the main players in the international tourism market, with large growth potential, this research empirically identifies the psychological factors that affect Chinese outbound tourists’ memorable tourism experiences (MTEs), and investigates the relationships among MTEs, the “fun” emotion, and their recommendation and revisit intentions based on the stimulus–organism–response (S-O-R) model. In addition, the moderating role of perceived risk between the causal relationships among the “fun” emotion and recommendation and revisit intentions is identified. A total of 560 survey participants who had experienced overseas tourism in the last two years were selected as the target population, and the data from 413 valid surveys were empirically analyzed via structural equation modeling (SEM). Chinese outbound tourists’ MTEs, such as hedonism, novelty, meaningfulness, and social interaction, are found to positively influence their experience of the “fun” emotion, such as emotional spark and flow. Additionally, it is found that when Chinese outbound tourists have achieved a high level of the “fun” emotion, their intentions to recommend and revisit their destination will be stronger. In addition, perceived risk is found to have a negative moderating role in the causal relationships among emotional spark and recommendation and revisit intentions, and also has negative moderating effects on the causal relationship between flow and recommendation intentions. This study provides important practical insights for how international tourist destination marketers and managers provide Chinese tourists with MTEs, and how to elicit the “fun” emotion and loyalty behaviors from Chinese tourists via the investigation of the mechanism of MTEs, fun, and recommendation and revisit intentions. It is also found that it is beneficial for international tourist destination managers to lower the level of tourists’ perceived risk to improve tourists’ recommendation and revisit intentions. These findings can aid in the development of more effective strategies to increase the market share and the international competitiveness of destinations.

We explored the precise impacts of trust and perceived risk on the core constructs of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). We applied the UTAUT model to the novel context of the Certified e-Document Authority (CeDA) service used in the Republic of Korea. Our results from structural equation modeling largely supported our hypotheses. Trust and perceived risk were shown to be direct antecedents of intention to use, and trust functioned as an indirect antecedent. Performance expectancy and social influence were shown to positively affect behavioral intention. Effort expectancy was also shown to influence performance expectancy. The combination of trust, perceived risk, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence accounted for 55.3% of the variance observed in users' intention to use CeDA services.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence the consumer intention to adopt Islamic banking. Design/methodology/approach The study extends the theory of reasoned action (TRA) by incorporating additional variables such as government support, perceived risk, perceived image, religiosity and culture. A research instrument adapted from previous studies is administered online on a sample of 310 respondents. The data collected are subjected to exploratory factor analysis followed by structural equation modeling using SPSS and analysis of a moment structures (22.0 Version). Findings The results of the study reveal that consumer intention to use Islamic banking is collectively determined by attitude, religiosity, culture, government support and perceived risk. It reflects that attitude and religiosity are the major predictors of a consumer’s intention followed by government support. Furthermore, results indicate that a consumer’s attitude toward Islamic banking is determined by social influence, government support, religiosity and perceived risk. Also, it is found that culture and perceived image have no significant effect on a consumer’s attitude toward adoption of Islamic banking. Further, the results indicate that attitude mediates the effect of religiosity, perceived risk, government support and culture on a consumer’s intention to use Islamic banking. Research limitations/implications The success of Islamic banking ultimately depends on consumer readiness and adoption of it. This study provides significant insights into various aspects of consumer attitude and intention toward Islamic banking adoption. The results provide vital inputs to policymakers and practitioners in offering and promoting Islamic banking. Also, the knowledge and understanding of key consumer specific factors can be used by banks in framing strategies for positioning and targeting Islamic banking products. The study is subjected to certain limitations such as – the study accounts only for limited factors and does not provide for factors such as pricing, behavioral control and Islamicity of the product. Second, this study is limited to the geographic area of Kashmir. Third, the study design is cross-sectional is nature. Originality/value Essentially, this study is a pioneering effort in applying an integrated TRA model to determine consumer intention to use Islamic banking in Kashmir. Furthermore, the current study examines the relationship between additional variables simultaneously within the framework of TRA. The study also explores the effect of religiosity and culture on consumer’s attitude and intention, which has remained largely unexplored in the context of Islamic banking.
