Based on the foundation treatment for deep soft soil in Chaoshan station district, this paper studied the engineering characteristics of soft soil in Chaoshan and the settlement regularity of pile-net composite foundation, etc. by numerical simulation. The results show: the reduction of pile spacing and the settings of pile cap can decrease the settlement of soil among the piles on foundation plane.

Two experimental areas in a highway soft soil ground treatment project in Guangdong Province were designed to investigate the improvement mechanism of geogrid-reinforced and pile-supported embankment(GRPS).The experimental results showed: In End-bearing Pile Area,the differential settlement between pile and soil was bigger than that of Floating Pile Area,so the bearing capacity of soil was exerted to a certain extent in Floating Pile Area. The bearing efficacy of soil below the pile cap was little, so the replacement ratio of composite foundation could be calculated according to the pile cap dimension. The load transfer efficacy of the geogrid was better than that of the soil arch. Five kinds of methods were used to evaluate the soil arch in the fill and it was indicated that the results calculated by the BS8006 method and Carlsson method was close to the experimental data which was smaller than results calculated by Hewlett method and Terzaghi method, bigger than Guido method. Through the analysis of the pile-soil stress ratio, the improvement mechanism of the two types of GRPS were revealed.

Composite foundation settlement of piled raft structure in Da Xi passenger dedicated line is analyzed by the large finite element software MIDAS/GTS and established calculation model of foundation treatment. The problem of pile-soil contact is highlighted in the trail and analyzes the settlement nephogram and pile-soil stress nephogram. On this basis the foundation settlement factors was analyzed systematically that focus on the elastic modulus of pile, pile spacing, pile diameter and pile length in foundation treatment, especially for the characteristics parameters of contact element. Result shows that increasing the pile modulus, pile diameter, pile length and decreasing the pile spacing is all conducive to reducing settlement. The best advice is got that the pile diameter should be not more than 0.5m, pile length not more than 27m and the pile spacing be around 2m.

As a new ground treatment technology, the bag-grouting-pile composite foundation is used in railway soft soil reinforcement. In this paper, the application effect of bag-grouting-pile in coastal soft foundation treatment was studied in this experimental research; the deep settlement and the deep horizontal displacement of embankment edge in bag-grouting-pile composite foundation are tested in the research. The results of research show that the bag-grouting-pile composite foundation is a cost-effective ground treatment technology using in coastal soft foundation treatment.

There is high requirement to the foundation of the raceway of container gantry crane. However, the marine soft soil is distributed extensively at Dalian ports. In the paper, the settlement and bearing capacity of natural and composite foundation of raceway of container gantry crane under design load is analyzed by finite element method on the basis of geological data, foundation treatment. The relationship of different deformation modulus and foundation bearing capacity is obtained by considering the strength of foundation and the requirement of settlement. The settlement and the inclination value of two sides of container gantry crane which is less than the permitting value of laws under consolidated ground and corresponding load condition is obtained. The corresponding deformation modulus of consolidated ground is obtained under different load condition. The boundary of basis is easy to failure, the treatment range extension of foundation should be considered.

The collapsible loess ground treatment methods include dynamic compaction, soil replacement cushion method, lime-soil compaction pile composite foundation, pile foundation, etc. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. The bearing capacity of collapsible loess is not lower, it is non-soft soil. The purpose of the collapsible loess ground treatment is to eliminate the collapsible at the most, few to increase the capacity and improve the heterogeneity of the foundation. In this paper, the collapsible loess foundation treatment methods are been compacted from the technical and economic factors. And the key issues of the collapsible loess ground treatment methods are discussed.

In recent years, composite foundation technology has been widely used in foundation treatment. Composite foundation theory has become an important research topic in the field of geotechnical engineering. CFG pile (Abbreviation of cement, fly ash, and gravel pile) in composite foundation is one of the commonly used technologies. It has advantages such as simple construction, reliable quality and low cost. When it is used in soft foundation treatment, it significantly improves the bearing capacity, reduces settlement, and turns waste (fly ash) to treasure, which benefits economic and social significantly. During construction, various defects in construction quality will affect the effect of soft foundation treatment. CFG pile necking is one of the more representative quality defects. This paper combined some project examples to analyze the causes of CFG pile necking and develop effective control measures for it which has a certain reference value towards the quality control of the technology

To research and analyze the neutral point distribution of rigid pile composite foundation on collapsible loess ground in high speed railway, the centrifuge model tests are used to imitate pile raft composite foundation and pile net composite foundation in different pile spacing based on the experimental study at home and abroad. The research results show that the movement of negative skin friction and the position of neutral point which is drop conspicuously with larger pile spacing are a continuous changing process in composite foundation. In the pile spacing 2D,4D,6D of pile raft composite foundation, the stable range of neutral point position are 0.25(the pile length ratio), 0.59,0.63 separately in post-construction stage. In the pile spacing 2D(no pile-cap),4D(no pile-cap),4D(pile-cap),6D(pile-cap) of pile net composite foundation, the stable range of neutral point position are 0.37to0.43(the pile length ratio),0.50,0.80,0.81separately in post-construction stage. The pile-cap setting has more influence on Neutral point distribution. Suggestions are given that the waterproof and drainage measures in foundation must be considered when setting up composite foundation on collapsible loess.

Based on the treatment of in-situ foundation, two distinct model tests for pile-net composite foundation in super large area and deep soft soil with different pile spacing were designed to study the bearing behavior of the piles. The result shows: the axial force of pile shaft increases with the growth of embankment filling load and gradually rises down along pile shaft to a certain depth, then slowly decreases afterwards. The velocity of force changing varies from the correlated soil layers, which indicates that pile shaft resistance appears to be unlike in different pile sites; The ratio of pile shaft resistance area to the overall pile length is relatively high while of normal resistance area is smaller ,and when the upper load is mainly supported by bearing course on pile end, pile-net composite foundation turns to be friction and end-bearing pile; For each level of loads, both pile-soil stress ratio and load shearing ratio of pile increase modestly, then tend to be steady till the next load level is applying on.
