Aiming at the problems of large temperature differences and inconsistent baking speeds at different positions in the tobacco chamber of the tobacco baking room, this paper proposes a complex structure processing technology of fan vent. according to the structure and drying principle of the baking room, ANSYS fluent simulation software was used to analyze the processing parameters of the heat flow field inside the baking room. combining the characteristics of positive and negative air supply baking, the processing and manufacturing parameters of the baking room were optimized, and then the baking comparison test was performed. The results show that: the forward and reverse air-baking method and the complex structure reduces the temperature difference in the interior of the smoke chamber; the forward and reverse air-bake method reduces the baking time by 11 hours, and reduces the coal consumption and power consumption by 12.6%, 48.5%, the standard deviation of temperature monitoring points in the baking room decreased by 44%.

Currently, LED technology is an established form of lighting in our cities and homes. Its lighting performance, durability, energy efficiency and light, together with the economic savings that its use implies, are displacing other classic forms of lighting. However, some problems associated with the durability of the equipment related to the problems of thermal dissipation and high temperature have begun to be detected, which end up affecting their luminous intensity and the useful life. There are many studies that show a direct relationship between the low quality of LED lighting and the aging of the equipment or its overheating, observing the depreciation of the intensity of the light and the visual chromaticity performance that can affect the health of users by altering circadian rhythms. On the other hand, the shortened useful life of the luminaires due to thermal stress has a direct impact on the LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) and its environmental impact, which indirectly affects human health. The purpose of this article is to compare the results previously obtained, at different contour temperatures, by theoretical thermal simulation of the 3D model of LED street lighting luminaires through the ANSYS Fluent simulation software. Contrasting these results with the practical results obtained with a thermal imaging camera, the study shows how the phenomenon of thermal dissipation plays a fundamental role in the lighting performance of LED technology. The parameter studied in this work is junction temperature (Tj), and how it can be used to predict the luminous properties in the design phase of luminaires in order to increase their useful life.

Many studies have been done using recycled waste materials to minimise environmental problems. It is a great opportunity to explore mechanical recycling and the use of recycled and virgin blend as a material to produce new products with minimum defects. In this study, appropriate processing parameters were considered to mould the front panel housing part using R0% (virgin), R30% (30% virgin: 70% recycled), R40% (40% virgin: 60% recycled) and R50% (50% virgin: 50% recycled) of Polycarbonate (PC). The manufacturing ability and quality during preliminary stage can be predicted through simulation analysis using Autodesk Moldflow Insight 2012 software. The recommended processing parameters and values of warpage in x and y directions can also be obtained using this software. No value of warpage was obtained from simulation studies for x direction on the front panel housing. Therefore, this study only focused on reducing the warpage in the y direction. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) optimisation methods were used to find the optimal processing parameters. As the results, the optimal ratio of recycled PC material was found to be R30%, followed by R40% and R50% materials using RSM and GA methods as compared to the average value of warpage on the moulded part using R0%. The most influential processing parameter that contributed to warpage defect was packing pressure for all materials used in this study.

This paper presents a systematic methodology to determine optimal injection molding conditions for minimum warpage and shrinkage in a thin wall relay part using modified particle swarm optimization algorithm (MPSO). Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) were injected in a thin wall relay component for different processing parameters: melt temperature, packing pressure and packing time. Further, Taguchi’s L9 (3[Formula: see text] orthogonal array is used for conducting simulation analysis to consider the interaction effects of the above parameters. A predictive mathematical model for shrinkage and warpage is developed in terms of the above process parameters using regression analysis. ANOVA analysis is performed to establish statistical significance within the injection molding parameters. The analytical model is further optimized using a newly developed MPSO algorithm and the process parameters values are predicted for minimizing shrinkage and warpage. The predicted values of shrinkage and warpage using MPSO algorithm are improved by approximately 30% as compared to the initial simulation values and comparable to previous literature results.

This study aims to optimize the velocity of ring shape parameter for designing the nozzles using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and investigated the flow in nozzles using ANSYS, Inc. simulation software. The model geometries were defined using ANSYS FLUENT-Design Modeler platform. All nozzles were designed on unstructured triangular elements comprising of 1200000 mesh nodes. The differential governing equations were applied in ANSYS FLUENT based on a finite volume method. The distance and dimensions of ring location significantly influence the velocity of water during flow where the maximum velocity at double rings reduces the surface area at distance of 7mm and 15mm and 2x2 mm dimensions. Considering 8, 10, and 12 bar liner proportions, there was an increase in the velocity at maximum points in ring shapes.

Abstract A Tesla turbine is a bladeless turbine in which fluid flows in the direction of the centripetal path. It uses fluid properties such as Boundary layer & adhesion of fluid on a series of discs keyed to a shaft. The initial cost and maintenance cost of the Tesla turbine is very low. Our project’s main motive is to improve the performance of a Tesla turbine by changing various parameters such as disc diameter and disc rotating speed through the CFD simulation software using water as a working fluid. The CAD model is designed using Ansys design modeler, meshing is performed using Ansys meshing and post processing is carried out in Ansys fluent. The numerical simulations were carried out using Ansys Fluent which is based on the finite volume method and the changes that occurred in the pressure and velocities are investigated. The parametric study is performed by varying the turbine disc speed. By performing CFD simulations, total pressure contour and velocity magnitude contours are plotted and it is found that pressure and velocity are maximum when the clearance between disc and turbine casing is lesser and at higher turbine disc speeds. The power output of the Tesla turbine is also plotted for various rpm where higher rpm gives maximum power output. The results from the present study would be useful in designing an efficient Tesla turbine with improved performance.

In fluid numerical simulation calculation, FLUENT is one of the most commonly used engineering software. By the way of pressure velocity coupling, FLUENT can solve the flow field, and use the finite volume method to speed up the convergence. In order to improve the calculation accuracy, FLUENT is divided into single precision and double precision to meet the need of practical engineering. In this paper, by using FLUENT numerical simulation software, combined with UDF programming, we analyze the temperature and smoke distribution when large building fire occurs. The GAMBIT software is used for the numerical modeling, and we use Tecplot software to carry out the post processing of results. Through numerical simulation, the fire temperature value reaches 1050K without wind, while with wind the temperature is 1030K, , which is consistent with the actual situation. In the absence of ventilation condition, concentration is 0.0112; under the condition of ventilation concentration is 0.0052, which is consistent with the actual situation. Therefore in the building fire safety, the first thing to consider is ventilation, which can reduce the fire temperature and concentration and security personnel safe evacuation.
