Purpose The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the human resources (HR) literature by using exploratory network analysis (ENA), a data-driven technique. This technique was employed to discover how the perceived effectiveness of HR practices interrelate with employee perceptions on organizational cultural factors to enhance organizational commitment. Design/methodology/approach The authors used data from 1,459 employees of a large South Korean conglomerate and studied how individual HR practices could be enhanced by specific organizational cultural factors. The data were analyzed using ENA, which is an inductive approach. Findings The authors found that organizational commitment is associated with the positive perceptions of employees on the effectiveness of HR practices, such as performance appraisal, training and development, and compensation. Results show that when both HR practices and organizational cultural factors are considered, they appear to influence organizational commitment independently. Research limitations/implications Data were collected from a large conglomerate. The authors were limited by the use of the scales developed by a consulting firm. Therefore, readers should be cautious about the generalizability of the findings. Originality/value The application of a data-driven technique (ENA) highlights the potentially fertile methodological grounds for HR research. Literature on strategic HR management may benefit from inductive approaches, wherein data serve as primary foundation for the design and development of new theories.

ROTATIVITY: COLLABORATORS 'PERCEPTION OF THE CAUSES OF VOLUNTARY RESIGNATION ABSTRACT The dismissal of employees can generate a high cost with variables that could be avoided, such as: expenses with admissions and dismissals, selection process, contracting, training and payment of charges (BORGES AND RAMOS, 2007). In addition, the company may suffer from lack of labor, fail to meet production targets and generate excess service for other employees. From this juncture it is recognized the importance of retaining talent to be more competitive and avoid losses. In view of the above, it is questioned: What is the perception of employees about the causes that led them to voluntary dismissal in the city of Sobral - Ceará? To solve this question, the general objective is to analyze the employees' perception of the causes that imply voluntary dismissal in Sobral-Ceará. The research is descriptive in nature, with a qualitative approach. For data collection, a semi-structured open interview was conducted. Four ex-employees from Sobral companies, E1 (former maintenance supervisor), E2 (former HR analyst), E3 (former HR assistant) and E4 (former HR analyst) participated in the interview. For the treatment, the content analysis technique was used, considering the categories: Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, Inappropriate Management of Human Resources, Organizational Climate and Competition. This happens because there is no systematic method to assess the feasibility of prospective new employees. Recruitment decision support system applications are built using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The design of a performance appraisal system may be considered an unusual topic in the field of career development. However, it is considered most relevant in the current employment climate for graduates given the repeated emphasis on career development at various stages of the employment process. There has been a growing emphasis since the mid-1970s on employees' needs rather than just organisational needs, and a recognition of the strategic value of employees being developed to their best potential. Organisations have become increasingly aware that the effective development of their employees' skills and knowledge has benefits for the whole organisation. Career development (or employee or professional development) is a thread that runs through each stage of this discussion of the design of a performance appraisal system. This issue of career development may also be observed in promotional brochures and information sessions given by recruiters of graduates of tertiary institutions. Much is made of training and development opportunities as organisations seek to attract the brightest and best graduates to their graduate management trainee programs. Performance appraisal can be a crucial factor in the setting of career goals and the perception of job satisfaction leading to increased motivation and productivity.

Islamic literature highlights eight major functions of Islamic HRM; namely HR planning, recruitment, selection, orientation, performance appraisal, training and development, compensations and benefits, and career development. The objective of this paper is to consider the Divine Science of Charity as it applies to organizations as a form of workforce management. Firstly, in order to properly apply the divine laws of charity in any hierarchy, every employee should be allocated to a position correlating to their skill level. In addition, if everyone in the company is willing to please Allah (SWT) by helping personnel under supervision (muʿāmalāt), it will result in minimum friction between employees, meanwhile boosting the morale and engagement of all personnel. This will result in the maximized efficiency of the workflow at each level of the organization. Moreover, the reward for charity–leaders is happiness, which will allow them to create an enjoyable environment in the workplace. For the 2nd divine law of charity, each member of the company will be able to self-purify their soul and add the workflow as good deeds in the Eternal Path of Charity.
