Purpose The aim of this paper is to review the main results of accounting research literature examining the role of fair value accounting (FVA) within financial crisis. This research analyzes theoretical and empirical studies on the controversial topic about FVA and its alleged pro-cyclicality in the context of the financial crisis to offer solid reflections for improving the fair value research agenda. Design/methodology/approach This paper consists of a descriptive literature review. Theoretical and empirical research studies were investigated and then systematized in a framework to guide a literature-based analysis and critique of the relevant literature published about this topic. Findings The review reveals that there has been only a limited amount of research into the role of FVA within the financial crisis. This topic has not been researched extensively, and there is no empirical evidence that FVA caused the financial crunch and the subsequent financial crisis. Research limitations/implications The restricted amount of literature that directly deals with FVA in the context of the financial crisis is the main limitation of this paper. The specificity of the theme narrows the coverage. However, the adopted research methodology enabled the main contributions concerning this issue to be collected, to realize a concise and comprehensive portrait of the debate surrounding FVA and the financial crisis. Practical implications This paper can be of use to both researchers and practitioners interested in investigating strengths and weaknesses of the fair value concept for accounting purposes. The paper sets out the main findings of the academic literature and identifies future avenues of theoretical and practical research which may support standard setters to draw up improved accounting regulation. Originality/value Few existing studies consist of a literature review that examines theoretical and empirical researches on the influence of FVA on the financial system. This review offers a comprehensive overview on research literature concerning the responsibility of FVA in causing the financial crisis. The main contribution of this paper relates to further understanding the role and effects of accounting matters concerning fair value in a broad sense within the context of the financial crisis.

The study is based on a systemic literature review and qualitative and frequency analysis of the definitions of the phenomenon. The literature search was not limited to publications by Ukrainian authors, but included Polish and Russian available relevant literature on the topic. Offered a new definition of ethnic tourism and other definition connected with ethnic aspects. The lack of clear definitions and differences in understanding significantly impeding the development of his area of tourism. This paper investigates the survival rates of businesses founded by immigrants and natives in the context of Norway, which has not yet been explored. Based on the relevant literature review, the entrepreneur's human capital and venture's start-up characteristics were expected to explain the differences between the survival rates of businesses established by immigrants and natives. Longitudinal data on 389 firms established in 2002 were analyzed. It was revealed that the survival rate was lower for businesses established by immigrants compared to those established by natives. The analysis suggests that the relatively low survival rate of businesses established by immigrants is partly explained by the perceived novelty of the products and by the fact that immigrants are more likely to locate their businesses in urban areas. Human capital differences were not found to explain immigrant/native differences in business survival rates. Based on these results, several practical implications and suggestions for future research are offered.

The aim of this work is to review the literature aiming at highlighting the thoughtful drawbacks of bariatric surgeries on the buttock region. Together with understanding the best method of contouring this region back to its youthful shape as stated in previous literature. Criteria of searching used a search string to literature dating 1968 till present. Search string used on PubMed to find relevant literature. Search string involved searching for keywords; buttock contouring, post bariatric contouring, buttock lift, post massive weight loss. The repeated literature had been omitted. Exclusion criteria was any literature before 1968; as a mere factor of abundance of literature after then. Literature included was dedicated for post bariatric ptosis correction. After removal of duplicates 74 papers were included in the literature review for 6 months. literature was reviewed in pursuit of the most appropriate technique for post massive weight loss buttock contouring. The prevalence of weight loss surgeries, which has recently occurred as a treatment for the prevalence of obesity, behind the need for treatment of sagging skin around the body, including the buttocks, has been clarified many ways to resolve, including surgical and non-surgical, there is no way like me to treat that problem, but it differs from Individual to another, heavily dependent on the surgeon.

Context.— Lesions in the genitourinary (GU) organs, both benign and malignant, can demonstrate overlapping morphology, and practicing surgical pathologists should be aware of these potential pitfalls and consider a broad differential diagnosis for each specific type of lesion involving the GU organs. The following summary of the contents presented at the 6th Annual Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA) Diagnostic Course (October 10–11, 2020), supplemented with relevant literature review, exemplifies the common diagnostic challenges and pitfalls for mass lesions of the GU system of adults, including adrenal gland, with emphasis on immunohistochemical and molecular updates when relevant. Objective.— To describe the common mass lesions in the GU system of adults, including adrenal gland, with emphasis on the diagnostic challenges and pitfalls that may arise in the pathologic assessment, and to highlight immunohistochemical workups and emerging molecular findings when relevant. Data Sources.— The contents presented at the course and literature search comprise our data sources. Conclusions.— The diagnostic challenges and pitfalls that arise in the pathologic assessment of the mass lesions in the GU system of adults, including adrenal gland, are common. We summarize the contents presented at the course, supplemented with relevant literature review, and hope to provide a diagnostic framework to evaluate these lesions in routine clinical practice.

Choosing occlusion standards in dentures is a dilemma in oral rehabilitation, as it raises questions on which standard the dentist should use. This decision may influence the stability of the denture. Based on this problem, a literature review with articles published in the last five years, in search engines Pubmed.gov, Google Scholar and Scielo was performed. The keywords Prosthodontics, Occlusion and Edentulism were used. In this review, the articles on clinical trials and studies in silico, as well as relevant literature reviews were included. Although often the dentist may be resistant to use another type of occlusal pattern than balanced occlusion, it is important to emphasize advantages and disadvantages of occlusal arrangements in order to slow the residual ridge resorption and decrease muscle activity.

From the perspective of low-carbon, this paper analyzes the impact of human capital on the transformation and upgrading of China’s industrial structure. Firstly, it combs the relevant literature, then theoretically analyzes the mechanism of human capital on the transformation and upgrading of China’s industrial structure, and then selects the energy consumption data of 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities (excluding Tibet, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) from 2006 to 2016 Human capital data, using panel data analysis for empirical test. The results show that human capital has a positive effect on the low-carbon transformation and upgrading of industrial structure, but there are some differences in the effect on the whole country and different regions in the East, middle and West. Finally, from the perspective of the government, enterprises, schools and individuals, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions, such as responding to the economic transformation and low-carbon economy policies, strengthening human capital investment, and accelerating the cultivation of low-carbon talents.
