Work can be a place where we experience stress. In recent years, employees exposed to work with the use of information and communication technologies have reported symptoms of technostress. In turn, such frustration may lead to various negative and ineffective behaviours at work. The aim of the study was to analyse the links between technostress and counterproductive behaviours (theft, fraud, withdrawal and sabotage). 676 employees (including 50.9% women) aged 20 to 63 (M = 41.04; SD = 13.46) using ICT on a daily basis were surveyed. The study used the Counterproductive Behaviours Questionnaire and the Technostress Creators and Technostress Inhibitors Scale. The obtained results confirmed a positive relationship between Technostress creators and counterproductive behaviours and a negative relationship between Technostress inhibitors and counterproductive behaviours. These results can be used in organisations to minimize the risk of counterproductive behaviours by counteracting the occurrence of Technostress creators and reinforcing Technostress inhibitors.

Intelligent transport systems (ITSs) play a key role in people's daily activities. ITSs significantly improve mobility offering a variety of services to a vast number of users that increase on a daily basis, as more and new services are introduced. These services are based on advanced information and communication technologies (ICTs) and rely strongly on connectivity and computing resources. However, technical vulnerabilities of the technologies used in ITS, as well as the increase in users' awareness has brought security and privacy concerns to the forefront. This article aims at identifying a set of privacy concepts that provide the bases for designing trustworthy ITS services identifying possible threats and users' privacy concerns. A key contribution of the article is a roadmap that presents in detail how for every ITS function corresponding to privacy concepts can be realized for overcoming specific threats and users' privacy concerns in a smart city context.

PurposeWork-related use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) after hours can be potentially detrimental to employee well-being. In the current study, we examine whether psychological detachment mediates the link between work-related use of ICTs after hours and fatigue and whether affective commitment exacerbates this mediated relationship.Design/methodology/approachWe collected two waves of data from 295 employees in Vietnam, with 51% being female and an average age of 37.81 years old (SD = 7.93).FindingsWork-related use of ICTs after hours was positively related to employees' fatigue via psychological detachment. The negative relationship between work-related use of ICTs after hours and psychological detachment was stronger for employees with higher affective commitment.Practical implicationsOrganizations are encouraged to set policies and procedures to reduce work-related use of ICTs after hours to protect employee health; when work-related use of ICTs after hours is necessary, organizations should provide employees, especially those with higher affective commitment, with resources and strategies to better detach from this experience.Originality/valueOur findings contribute to the understanding of how work-related use of ICTs after hours might adversely affect employee well-being through psychological detachment and that more committed employees can be more affected in this process.

Information-Communication Technologies (ICTs) are currently used in various fields and there are many amazing inventions that are already present and make communication and life easier for us on a daily basis. The use of ICTs is less represented in the social work institutions. Therefore, this paper presents the implementation of ICTs through the chatbot application for the needs of social work created on the Tidio platform and within the webpage of the Public Institution “Center for Social Work Tešanj”. The application facilitates the work of social workers in collecting information from the users and eases the aid received by the users of social care in terms of faster responses to inquiries during emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, but also after. For the purpose of this research, an end-user survey was created and conducted with the aim of collecting user opinions on the acceptance and motivation for the use of chatbots in social work institutions. The results showed good acceptance and usage motivation of social work chatbot.

BACKGROUND Use of novel information and communication technologies are frequently discussed as promising tools to prevent and treat overweight and obesity in children and adolescents. OBJECTIVE This survey aims to describe the preferences, motives, and needs of children and adolescents regarding nutrition and digital games. METHODS We conducted a survey in 6 secondary schools in the southern region of Germany using a 43-item questionnaire. Questions referred to preferences, motives, and needs of children and adolescents regarding nutrition and digital games. In addition, knowledge regarding nutrition was assessed with 4 questions. We collected self-reported sociodemographic and anthropometric data. Descriptive statistical analyses were performed using SPSS. RESULTS In total, 293 children and adolescents participated in the study, with ages 12-18 years (137 girls, 46.8%), weight 30.0-120.0 (mean 60.2 [SD 13.2]) kg, and height 1.4-2.0 (mean 1.7 [SD 0.1]) m. A total of 5.5% (16/290) correctly answered the 4 questions regarding nutrition knowledge. Study participants acquired digital nutritional information primarily from the internet (166/291, 57.0%) and television (97/291, 33.3%), while school education (161/291, 55.3%) and parents or other adults (209/291, 71.8%) were the most relevant nondigital information sources. Most participants (242/283, 85.5%) reported that they regularly play digital games. More than half (144/236, 61.0%) stated that they play digital games on a daily basis on their smartphones or tablets, and almost 70% (151/282, 66.5%) reported playing digital games for ≤30 minutes without any interruption. One-half of respondents (144/280, 51.4%) also stated that they were interested in receiving information about nutrition while playing digital games. CONCLUSIONS This survey suggests that nutrition knowledge in children and adolescents might be deficient. Most children and adolescents play digital games and express interest in acquiring nutritional information during digital gameplay. A digital game with a focus on sound nutrition could be a potential educational tool for imparting nutrition knowledge and promoting healthier nutrition behaviors in children and adolescents.

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are broadly used to support people’s daily needs. Individuals addicted to psychoactive drugs sometimes present social exclusion as well as, limitations to the usage of ICT such as Internet, devices and applications. The aim of this paper is to present the findings of a pilot study related to the use of Information and Communication Technologies by Drug Addicts. A survey was conducted on 204 users of psychoactive substances. According to the results, the majority of the drug addicts seem to use ICT on a daily basis, showing their preference on Smartphones compared to other devices. The Internet access and the usage of Social Media and Communication Networks by addicted individuals is quite high, probably because they are willing to reintegrate into the society through Social Networks. Age is often related to the usage of ICT on Drug Addicts.

Current trends in thinking on contemporary migration (in particular, theories on transnational networks) agree that today's migrants are the actors of a culture of bonds, which they themselves have founded and which they maintain even as they move about. Formerly a latent feature but typical of all groups on the move, this culture of bonds became visible and highly dynamic once migrants began massively to use modern information and communication technologies (ICT). It is more and more common for migrants to maintain remote relations typical of relations of proximity and to activate them on a daily basis. The paradigmatic figure of the uprooted migrant is yielding to another figure: the connected migrant.

The study sought to explore the relationship between ICTs management and NBS liquidity. ICTs management helps the business to effect proper planning, coordinating, controlling and decision-making. Liquidity is important for banks to meet the demands of customers and a means of public confidence. The Internet connectivity in the NBS discouraged incentives for manipulations and other inefficiencies that characterized the paper and pen banking of the pre-reform era. The e-FASS approach and heavy investments and application of quality ICTs management by banks restored national and international confidence in the NBS which in a great measure, helped to lure back capital and liquidity into the system. Previous studies have found positive relationship between ICTs management and business productivity, bank profitability and economic growth. Through theoretical and empirical results this study found a high positive relationship between ICTs management and NBS liquidity.

Abstract   The objective of this research is to find out the use of Whatsapp Messenger as a mobile media to learn writing in EFL classes.Several researchers have attempted to prove applicability of mobile learning as modern ways of teaching and learning (Naismith, 2004:115). Moreover, applying portable technologies have been demanded by most of the modern learners who oftentimes are forced to study anywhere, and anytime, for example, at work, in the bus or at weekends (Evans, 2008:115).The research was motivated by the students’ difficulties in writing. The sample of this research was three classes of first grade students of English Department of Unswagati. The instrument of this research was questionnaire sheet. Data from questionnaire sheet was analyzed based on the frequency students’ answers and then was calculated and interpreted into percentages. The result shows WhatsApp Messenger attracts the students interest and also the students have positive responses towards the using ofWhatsAppMessenger. In applying WhatsApp group, the writer concluded that, learning using WhatsApp group has effective to develop their creativity in writing skill. On the other hand, the result from the questionnaire sheet indicated that almost of students is active in learning to writing recount text. Students can learn out of the classroom. Beside WhatsApp can be used privately, it can be used for students’ education. The students can use their gadget positively for their ability in learning English. The students can improve their knowledge in learning ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies).
