Many people regard "siri" as having a bad connotation, which does not bode well for the Bugis. Because "siri" is frequently associated with violence and murder, the slogan "ejapi naeja" is frequently used (red later if you want red) It's always taken as a bloodbath. This value has become a sign associated with the Bugis ethnicity in every part of the country, even where the Bugis ethnicity is found. Siri culture is associated with a fighting attitude. Fight for justice, for humanity, and for the family's dignity. Many Bugis people are encouraged by Siri's ideals to work hard because they want to go on a pilgrimage as a mark of social prestige, and to work hard because they don't want to dishonor their families. If Siri is given room to think in the administration of the family economics, the dominance of the concept of decent value becomes an attractive positive value to be communicated. When it comes to revealing such events, a qualitative technique is ideal to apply because qualitative research takes place in a natural setting and aims to understand and interpret phenomena based on people's interpretations. Qualitative research involves the use and collection of various empirical materials, such as; personal experience, introspection, curriculum vitae, interviews, observations, historical, interactional and visual texts that describe routine and problematic moments, and their meaning in individual lives.

Abstract. This paper examines child parenting that occurs in working mothers in Paiton Probolinggo, East Java. On the one hand, the demands of fulfilling the family economy forced the mothers to work hard outside the home. On the other hand, they are required to care for and assist children in proper parenting intensely. Based on this fact, it is necessary to study how changes in parenting happened to work mothers and how fathers and mothers worked together in families to do co-parenting. These two problems are then examined from a gender mainstreaming perspective and then analyzed through fiqh so that the concept of gender relations in parenting can be found in accordance with the values of Islamic teachings. Through a case study approach, collecting, processing, and analyzing data with qualitative research principles, this study resulted in the finding of delegating parenting from parents to others resulting in low-quality supervision and assistance from caregivers to children and low levels of child satisfaction. This study also found no occurrence of parenting that involved fathers and mothers in the principle of partnership and ignorance. In the perspective of parenting fiqh, the parenting patterns that occur in Paiton Probolinggo are not in accordance with the values and laws of parenting fiqh.

In a patriarchal society, men are the breadwinners and women are obliged to perform a domestic role. However, in reality, there are many families with unemployed husbands and working wives who support the family. This study aimed to reveal the background of unemployed husbands and the conflicts and violence against wives as the main breadwinner. This study used qualitative research methods and is descriptive research in design. The researchers interviewed informants from families with unemployed husbands where the wives were the breadwinners. The results of this study indicate that the causes of the husbands not working include illness, bankruptcy, company rationalization, a lack of desire to support their family or being too lazy to work. The conflicts that often occur in families with unemployed husbands include the socialization of the children, family economy, the division of domestic labor, differences of opinion in various matters, conflicts with their extended families, and various cases that are considered trivial. The violence that occurs in the family with unemployed husbands is physical violence, verbal, and psychological abuse to wives. Although the wives are the source of the family economy, the husbands remain in a dominant position in the family. Therefore, efforts to overcome the violence in the family requires support from many parties, including the wives, families, communities, and the state.

In 1973, housewives in California launched what would be the last meat boycott of the twentieth century. And, like its predecessors, the 1973 boycott gained national momentum albeit with little political traction now that Peterson had left public life for a job in the private sector as the consumer advisor to the Giant grocery store chain. And in some quarters of the labor movement, activists drew very clear links between the family economy and the stagnation plaguing workers’ wages. The 1973 boycott led to the founding of the National Consumers Congress, a national organization intended to unite consumer organizers. While it was a short-lived organization, it demonstrates the momentum that consumer activism was building. This chapter also reflects on the lost coordinating opportunity between housewives organizing around consumer issues and the women’s movement in the 1970s.

This paper attempts to illuminate some of the ethical dilemmas of a clinician/researcher interviewing women about a sensitive topic- their experience of having witnessed domestic violence in the family they grew up in, as part of a grounded theory study. Vignettes are presented to illustrate the self-reflexive process of the researcher and how she understood the effects of the interview process on her and the participants. The authors argue that doing in-depth qualitative research interviewing is an intervention in the life of the participants, especially, but not only, when the researchers are clinically-trained. However, this clinical training may also be an important resource from which to draw from, to act ethically and understand some of the complexity of the interaction between researcher and participants.

Many parents do not understand the concept of faith education inchildren. This could be based on an assumption that children are stilltoo young to be educated in matters of faith. Whereas the family, in thiscase the parents, is an educational institution that is directly related tothe child since he was born. So there is a thought that the family isbelieved to have a very strong influence on children’s religiouseducation.
