An unwanted pregnancy is a high-risk pregnancy that has psychological stress and impacts on nursing behavior during pregnancy. This requires coping efforts in order to handle stress. This study aims to analyze the coping behavior of mothers aged 35 years and over who experience unwanted pregnancies. This research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained by means of in-depth interviews, focus group discussions and participatory observation on 21 informants consisting of pregnant women, families, health workers, and Posbunda cadres. Content analysis is used to identify topics or categories in data. The results showed that to overcome the problem two coping behaviors were carried out, namely coping focusing on emotions and coping focusing on problems. Coping behavior focuses on emotions, including praying, sleeping, sitting quietly outside the house, drinking coffee excessively, and getting fresh air. The coping behavior that focuses on the problem is telling the problem to find a solution and the consumption of  herbs, soda, and drugs to abort the pregnancy. To support coping efforts, pregnant women get support from family, neighbors, friends, health workers, and Posbunda cadres. It is suggested to the Kassi-Kassi Health Center Makassar City to hold an intensive counseling program and health education regarding the correct use of contraceptive tools and methods to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

Five focus group discussions (FGDs) with 61 pregnant women were conducted in June and July 2019 at primary health care (PHC) services within five urban areas of Surabaya, Indonesia. In addition, five semi-structured interviews with five midwives were carried out to explore the experiences of pregnant women accessing Antenatal Care (ANC) and the factors shaping uptake of ANC services. Data were audio-recorded, transcribed, and translated into English, and analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings from focus group discussions suggested that fears of negative diagnosis before initial ANC appointment and personal beliefs and myths surrounding pregnancy may delay uptake of ANC. Further, the influence of husbands, family, and friends and long waiting times with overcrowding leading to limited seating shaped timely access and return visits. In addition, feeling comfortable with the quality of the service and receiving a friendly service from the practitioners assisted women in feeling comfortable to return. Finally, midwives acknowledged feeling afraid of being referred to a hospital if deemed a high-risk pregnancy-shaped return ANC visits. The findings highlighted several factors needing to be addressed to increase the promptness of first ANC visits and ensure return visits to achieve great ANC coverage.

The incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum in Indonesia ranges from 1% to 3% of all pregnancies. Hyperemesis gravidarum can cause problems in pregnancy such as anemia, while anemia itself can result in shock due to lack of nutritional intake, all of which are eaten and drunk. This study aims to determine the relationship between adaptation and psychological factors with the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester in the Tanjung Pasir Health Center area. This research is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted in the Tanjung Pasir 2020 Public Health Center area from March to August 2020. The population in this study were 108 pregnant women in the first trimester at the Hamidah Clinic and a sample of 52 people. Data were obtained using a questionnaire, data analysis consisted of univariate and bivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis using the Chi Square statistical test at α = 5%. The results showed that there was no relationship between adaftation factors (anemia and primigravida) with hyperemesis gravidarum, while psychological factors (unwanted pregnancy, work pressure, income and family harmony) had a relationship with hyperemesis gravidarum. The conclusion of this study is there is a relationship between psychological factors and the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester in the Tanjung Pasir Puskesmas area. It is suggested that the respondents should increase their knowledge about how to prevent and overcome hyperemesis gravidarum.

Background: Pre-eclampsia is a special condition during pregnancy where hypertension and proteinuria occur after 20 weeks of gestation in mothers who have had normal blood pressure. The number of pregnant women with pre-eclampsia in the Oesapa Health Center since 2014-2015 has increased. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of pre-eclampsia in the Oesapa Health Center. Methods: This study was an analytic observational study with a case control research design through a retrospective approach. Bivariate data analysis with Chi Square Test and multivariate analysis with Logistic Regression. Results: Bivariate test results obtained data that there are 3 variables that have a relationship with the incidence of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women, namely age (p value 0.000, p <α), gravida status (p value 0.001) and Record of hypertension in the family (p value 0.000). Two variables did not have a relationship between the incidence of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women, namely education (p value 0.488, p> α) and respondent's work (p value 0.899). In the multivariate analysis, the factor that most influence the incidence of pre-eclampsia is age (p value 0.000).Conclusions: Health workers need to improve antenatal care, so that they can take maximum preventive action against all risky pregnant women.

Abstract Background: Anemia is a major problem experienced during pregnancy in Indonesia due to its effect on mothers and babies. Hence, various interventions have been implemented, but a significant reduction in the prevalence of anemia has not been attained. The present study, therefore, aims to investigate the perceptions of anemia among pregnant women in Aceh to design culturally relevant interventions. Methods: This qualitative study collected data from 24 pregnant women in Aceh Besar District, Indonesia, through focus group discussions (FGDs). Data were analyzed using the inductive content analysis (ICA) method. Results: Five themes emerged from the experiences of pregnant women with anemia: (1) anemia during pregnancy is perceived as a woman’s destiny, (2) there is a lack of knowledge related to clinical indicators of anemia, (3) there is a traditional taboo related to anemia, (4) the husband and family provide support related to preventing anemia, and (5) there is a need for cultural and religious-based health counseling. Conclusions: Interventions should be designed to provide health information on anemia in Aceh that considers the local knowledge, beliefs and values, combined with medical elements. This intervention will likely change the perceptions of pregnant women about anemia to ensure that they are able to better maintain their pregnancy. Furthermore, the implementation of programs to support pregnant women with anemia should ensure that health workers are adequately trained in cultural competency and are able to understand the needs of pregnant women.

workers which includes physical and mental health to get mothers and babies who are healthy during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. Data from the Medan Deli Health Center shows that in 2019 the K1 coverage is only (87%) and K4 only (66%), while the target of K1 and K4 coverage is 100% respectively. Many factors are thought to be the cause of not achieving coverage of antenatal care (ANC) implementation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the implementation of ANC in pregnant women. This type of research is a mix method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The study population was 195 people, with the Slovin formula taken a sample of 66 people. Quantitative analysis was univariate, bivariate using chi-square and multivariate using multiple logistic regression at the 95% confidence level ( = 0.05). The qualitative analysis was analyzed by means of reduction, data display and verification. The results showed the variables that influenced the implementation of antenatal care (ANC) in pregnant women in the work area of the Medan Deli Public Health Center in 2020, namely knowledge p = 0.032, attitude p = 0.018, parity p = 0.008, health services p = 0.016, husband support p = 0.026 and support for health workers p = 0.041. The unrelated variable was job status p = 0.269. The most dominant variable was the health service variable which had a value of Exp (B) = 12.048, meaning that respondents who received health services had 12 times the chance of implementing antenatal care compared to respondents who did not get health services. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of antenatal care in pregnant women is influenced by knowledge, attitudes, parity, health services, husband support and support from health workers. It is hoped that health workers, especially midwives, will provide good IEC about the implementation of antenatal care to every pregnant woman and carry out more frequent home visit activities and provide advice to the puskesmas to re-attach the standby husband and cooperate with local regional leaders
