The increase in regional demographics certainly affects the use of energy for transportation and households which will ultimately have implications for greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions in the region. This study focuses on the planning of green open space in the Mamuju Urban Area in order to minimize the effects of greenhouse gases so that the quality of space in the area is maintained. This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research that explores the condition of green open space in the Mamuju Urban Area and takes into account the existing emission potential. The data analysis used is AHP (scoring and weighting) to determine the value and influence of each thematic, image digitization and field observations to determine the existing green open space in the Mamuju Urban Area, and overlay using the ArcGIS 10.8 application to combine maps that be a research indicator. The results obtained from this study are that the Mamuju Urban Area continues to grow from time to time, the distribution of existing green open space continues to decrease along with land use changes that continue to occur, and from the analysis of potential emissions, the largest green open space planning directive is private green open space planning with an area of 354, 14 Ha.

This study aims to analyze inquiry-based learning through the implementation of modeling instruction on optical instrument materials. This research method used quantitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA SMAN 2 Donggo. The collection technique includes observation, literature review, questionnaire, test and documentation. The data obtained will be analyzed descriptively quantitatively, among the research data to be analyzed are: student activities, learning outcomes, and student responses to ongoing learning. The results of this study include: 1) Student activity obtained a score of 74.58% or good category, 2) Inquiry learning with Modeling Instruction on optical instrument material can actually improve students' understanding with an N-gain score of 1.3 points or very high category. high, 3) Student responses to learning obtained a score of 84.37% or very interesting category. Based on the results of the study, it was found that through Inquiry learning with Modeling Instruction on Optical Instruments material, it can be used as an alternative to improve the quality of learning in class, especially in Physics subjects.

Greenery can affect spatial characteristics such as relationship between hard and soft surfaces and activities inside open spaces. Among different types of greenery, trees have influences on summer shading and winter solar access, and hence usage patterns in open spaces. However, the relationship between tree planting and open space characteristics such as typology, proportion and height-to-width ratio in terms of shading and solar access was rarely investigated. On the other hand, there has been an increasing number of studies on using parametric tools to design urban environment recently. Despite the success in urban fabric planning by parametric tools, the utilization of these tools to design open spaces with a relatively smaller scale has not been revealed. Even worse, parameters that should be included in a parametric design tool for open space planning are still unknown. Accordingly, the primary objective of this study is to, by investigating the design characteristics and concepts of different open spaces, identify parameters for a parametric tool to design green open spaces. Specifically, the possibility of using shaded areas projected by trees and surrounding buildings as one of the parameters will be revealed. The study also aims at examining how the height-to-width ratios, proportions and typologies of open spaces will affect tree planting positions when optimizing shading or solar access of the spaces in different climate zones. Results from this study will provide designers with an additional layer of information when designing open spaces.
