The nursing profession has the widest range of opportunities, but the unawareness and ignorance of nurses are making them be at a dependent level only rather than independent. In most of the scenarios, administrative nurses, health care policymakers, and administrators of institutions and agencies, make and implement roles and activities for nurses to fulfill the aims of medicine and institutional bureaucracy. This problem 'forces' nursing to travel a dependent path. A view is set forth that the problem stems from the collective failure of nursing to articulate and implement a function and product distinct from that of medicine and other professions. Making this distinction is critical to the charting of an independent path. Nursing's past and present are examined in terms of the service nursing does provide for society. This paper deals with the various emerging job opportunities for nurses and ways to choose the best working environment for career advancement. The Hamilton Health Service Organization Nutrition Program integrates nine registered dietitians (RDs) into the offices of 80 family physicians (FPs) at 50 sites in Hamilton, Ontario. The program is based on a shared care model, in which FPs and RDs work collaboratively to provide nutrition services aimed at prevention, treatment, and management of nutrition-related problems. In addition to their clinical role, dietitians in the program are involved in health promotion, disease prevention and early intervention strategies, interdisciplinary collaboration, building links with community services, and research. The RDs’ specialized knowledge, skills, and experience allow them to provide a wide range of services that complement and augment those of the FP. This model is consistent with Canadian health care reform recommendations and offers significant benefits for both health care providers and consumers.

Abstract Background: In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the nursing profession faces significant challenges including failure to recruit high school students into nursing education; poor nursing identity, and lack of awareness about the nursing profession. The level of community awareness and public image of the nursing profession are critical to recruit and retain students into nursing education, and to improve nurses' sense of identity. Aim: to explore the level of community awareness and public image of the nursing profession in Saudi Arabia Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study with a convenient sample of 502 adults including 106 males and 396 females, their mean age was 22.93 ± 6.76 years. Data collected included; socio-cultural data, gender preference in getting nursing care, awareness, and perceived socio-cultural barriers to pursue a nursing career. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 21.0. Results: Only 32.5 % preferred to get nursing care by Saudis. The nursing profession was not viewed as a respected job as 71.5% of participants would be ashamed of having a nurse in their families. The study revealed a low median knowledge score (50.0, IQR: 50.0-66.7)). The study highlighted a number of socio-cultural barriers to pursue a nursing career including; the gender-mixed working environment (35.9%), delayed marriage of female nurses (20.3%), and the negative effect of nursing profession on social life (64.5%). Conclusions : Half of the sample had a knowledge score below 50.0 out of 100. This level of Poor awareness, in addition to socio-cultural perceived barriers are the main factors contributing to the negative public image of the nursing profession in Saudi Arabia. Understanding these factors could contribute to implementing focused intervention to improve the negative stereotype of the nursing profession among Saudis.

5S-CQI-TQM is a management technique that is aimed at bringing satisfaction of staff as well as the patients through improvement of working environment. A cross-sectional comparative study was carried out among 226 respondents who were selected purposively from the selected study place from 1st January to 31st December 2017. Among 226 respondents, 113 were taken from Dhaka Medical College and another 113 were taken from Mugdha Medical College. Among 113 respondents, 56 respondents were health care providers and 57 respondents were health care receivers. The purpose of this study to compare the management of services in Total Quality Management implemented (Dhaka Medical College and Hospital) and non-implemented (Mugdha Medical College and Hospital) health facilities. A Semi-structured interviewer administered questionnaire and an observational check list were developed to collect the data. Separate questionnaire was used for health care providers and health care receivers. The statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS (statistical package for social science) version 20 statistical software. Significant statistical differences were found between TQM implemented and TQM non-implemented hospital regarding workload (p=0.043), hospital authority always seriously consider staff’s suggestions for the improvement of quality of service (p<0.001), employees always respect to each other in the hospital (p<0.001) and 35 (62.5%) service providers expressed satisfactory opinion regarding management of the hospital. The aim of this study is to identify the determinants of turnover intention among bank employees in Kuala Lumpur. Specifically, the objective of this study is to assess the relationships between employee relations, working environment and conditions, compensation and benefit packages, career advancement opportunities and turnover intention. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed among bank employees in the Masjid Jamek area and the researchers successfully collected 120 questionnaires from the respective respondents. All the data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 23.0 version. Two types of data analysis were used - descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis was used to study the respondent demographic information such as age, gender, education level, length of services, and monthly income level. Meanwhile, the inferential analysis was used to examine the relationships between employee relations, working environment and conditions, compensation and benefit packages, career advancement opportunities and turnover intention. The results show that the relationship between turnover intention and employee relations is weak. However, working environment and conditions, compensation and benefit packages, and career advancement opportunities are moderately correlated to turnover intention among bank employees. Based on a multiple regression analysis, working environment and conditions, and compensation and benefit packages have negative and significant relationship with turnover intention.

Nursery has existed throughout history and it dates back to the very beginning of humankind. It was mentioned in church books and other written texts but not as a skill or science, but as an occupation reserved for the members of monastic orders, and also for women, that is, mothers, and nuns. First, nursing was an occupation, then a skill, but at the end of the 20th century, it became a scientific discipline. Florence Nightingale is certainly one of the most significant women in the history of nursing, medicine, and society in general because she is the pioneer of the nursing profession that has continuity up to nowadays. She was born on May 12, 1820, in Florence, Italy and died on August 13, 1910, in London. Florence Nightingale worked as a nurse, organizer, researcher, statistician, reformer, writer and a teacher. She reformed nursery and public health. In 1860, she established the school for nurses within St. Thomas' Hospital and she took care of every protégé. In spite of all obstacles, which she was faced with, and the unenviable position of women in the 19th century, she made a huge move that changed the context of this profession forever. She had a huge influence on the Swiss philanthropist Henry Dunant (1828-1910), who was the founder of the Red Cross. In 1867, the International Council of Nurses proclaimed that her birthday would be the International Nurses Day. She was the first woman who was awarded the Medal of virtues. In 1908, she was conferred the Order of Merit by King Edward. She wrote more than 200 books and the Pledge.

By sharing their expertise and experiences through journal articles, nurses contribute to the body of literature that ultimately helps improve the health care system, the nursing profession, and care of patients and their families. The focus of this article is to help nurses implement strategies to get started in the process of publishing journal articles. Topics include facing excuses for not writing, implementing strategies to get started, and executing a plan for the manuscript.
