Mobile money services give trade benefits such as bill payment, decreased transaction costs and time, expanded savings possibilities, sales, and convenience. Despite the benefits, traders in Uganda are still slow to adopt and use mobile money services. This article reflects on the findings of a study that looked at the barriers that merchants experience while utilizing and implementing mobile money services in Uganda. A self-administered questionnaire was utilized to obtain data from 394 survey respondents. A model for encouraging traders to use mobile money services is offered. The suggested model expands on the Unified Theory of Technology Acceptance and Use. According to regression study, performance expectancy, social factors, and sensitization components all have a substantial impact on the behavioral intention of mobile money service uptake for trade. On the other hand, security and effort expectation had no significant affect on traders' behavioral intention to use mobile money services. Furthermore, the data show that enabling conditions affected the utilization of mobile money services for commercial transactions. The suggested approach is adaptable and generic, and it may be used in other developing nations with comparable circumstances to Uganda.

The intent of this paper is to research the factors that determine students’ acceptance of mobile assisted language learning (MALL) in Morocco. This study emphasizes the inclusive character of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). After careful assessment of the multiple relationships within UTAUT, a modified version of the theory was hypothesized then researched for the impact it has on the English as Foreign Language (EFL) context in Morocco. The technology acceptance model in this paper emphasized four directions connecting performance expectancy, effort expectancy, teacher feedback and compatibility to behavioral intention, also referred to as the determinants of behavioral intention to use MALL. For the purpose of this study, a technology enhanced environment was created. A total number of 156 EFL common core students were brought to interact on a WhatsApp-based platform by means of text-messaging. The WhatsApp treatment was optimized to synchronize with the institutionalized character of the teaching of English in Moroccan public schools. The questionnaire method was used for data collection. The data were screened for missingness, normality and outliers. Then, multiple reliability and validity tests were performed to substantiate the legitimacy of the dataset. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used in the assessment of the measurement model and the structural model. The outputs of structural modelling corroborated the hypothesized directions connecting teacher feedback and compatibility to behavioral intention to use MALL while there was lack of support for the relationships linking performance expectancy and effort expectancy to behavioral intention to use MALL.

BACKGROUND Smartphone fitness apps are considered promising tools for promoting physical activity and health. However, it is unclear which user-perceived factors and app features encourage users to download apps with the intention of being physically active. OBJECTIVE Building on the second version of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, this study aims to examine the association of the seven determinants of the second version of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology with the app usage intentions of the individuals and their behavioral intentions of being physically active as well as the moderating effects of different smartphone fitness app features (ie, education, motivation, and gamification related) and individual differences (ie, age, gender, and experience) on these intentions. METHODS Data from 839 US residents who reported having used at least one smartphone fitness app were collected via a web-based survey. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed, and path modeling was used to test the hypotheses and explore the influence of moderators on structural relationships. RESULTS The determinants explain 76% of the variance in the behavioral intention to use fitness apps. Habit (<i>β</i>=.42; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), performance expectancy (<i>β</i>=.36; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), facilitating conditions (<i>β</i>=.15; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), price value (<i>β</i>=.13; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), and effort expectancy (<i>β</i>=.09; <i>P</i>=.04) were positively related to behavioral intention to use fitness apps, whereas social influence and hedonic motivation were nonsignificant predictors. Behavioral intentions to use fitness apps were positively related to intentions of being physically active (<i>β</i>=.12; <i>P</i>&lt;.001; <i>R<sup>2</sup></i>=0.02). Education-related app features moderated the association between performance expectancy and habit and app usage intentions; motivation-related features moderated the association of performance expectancy, facilitating conditions, and habit with usage intentions; and gamification-related features moderated the association between hedonic motivation and usage intentions. Age moderated the association between effort expectancy and usage intentions, and gender moderated the association between performance expectancy and habit and usage intentions. User experience was a nonsignificant moderator. Follow-up tests were used to describe the nature of significant interaction effects. CONCLUSIONS This study identifies the drivers of the use of fitness apps. Smartphone app features should be designed to increase the likelihood of app usage, and hence physical activity, by supporting users in achieving their goals and facilitating habit formation. Target group–specific preferences for education-, motivation-, and gamification-related app features, as well as age and gender differences, should be considered. Performance expectancy had a high predictive power for intended usage for male (vs female) users who appreciated motivation-related features. Thus, apps targeting these user groups should focus on goal achievement–related features (eg, goal setting and monitoring). Future research could examine the mechanisms of these moderation effects and their long-term influence on physical activity.

Higher education institutions have switched from the traditional paper-based assessment to online assessment in the last decade, and it is worthwhile to examine how the users have perceived such a change. While many technology acceptance studies focused on students as participants, this study examines the lecturers' perception of online assessment. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology model (UTAUT) has been widely adapted for technology acceptance studies, and it is suitable for the study on online assessment systems. Unlike the findings from the original UTAUT model, performance expectancy did not have a significant effect on behavioral intention. A new relationship was found between Social Influence and Use Behavior. The UTAUT was extended with Usability, Learnability and Attitude as additional constructs. An essential aspect of this study ascertained that attitude, a construct that was absent in the original model, has a significant effect on behavioral intention.

Background Medical care facilities in both developed and developing countries around the world continue to invest in hospital information technologies (HITs). Nevertheless, it has been discovered that user acceptance of these technologies is one of the imperative issues during their implementation and management in developing countries such as Ghana. Purpose Notably, the technology acceptance assessment of nurses is a timely one since they play a very important role in the medical sector. Based on the model of “Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology,” this study explored the factors that affect Ghanaian nurses’ acceptance of HIT. Design/Method/Approach: A descriptive nonexperimental research design was employed in this study to recruit 660 nurses (404 females and 256 males) from 3 teaching and 2 regional hospitals in Ghana. A standardized electronic platform questionnaire (based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology model) was designed on smartphones and was self-administered, while the data collected were analyzed via the SmartPLS Structural Equation Modeling path analysis. The “Social Influence” ( t  = 3.656, p < .001), “Attitude towards the Use of Technology” ( t = 5.861, p < .001), and “Facilitating Conditions” ( t = 2.616, p < .001) were the main predictors of the nurses’ behavioral intention to use HIT. The effects of the aforementioned constructs explained 60.7% ( R2 = 0.607) of the variance in the nurses’ intentions to use the HIT systems. Conclusions Precisely, HIT systems are essential in the quality and the enhancement of nursing services provision and in the effectiveness of the performance of nursing staff. This study, therefore, offers a piece of empirical evidence for hospital administrators in developing countries especially Ghana, to assess the success probability of new HITs before and after their implementation.

Business simulation games (BSGs) are educational tools that help students develop business management knowledge and skills. However, to date, relatively little research has investigated the factors that influence students’ BSG usage intention. Grounded on the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology, this study helped to fill this gap by exploring intention to use BSGs. Specifically, this study investigated the influence of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, and price value on behavioral intention to use BSGs. Data collected from 141 useful respondents were tested against the research model using partial least square approach. The results of this study indicated that behavioral intention to use BSGs was influenced by facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, and price value. Unexpectedly, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence were not predictive of students’ behavioral intention to use BSGs. These findings enhanced our understanding of students’ BSG usage behavior and provided several important theoretical and practical implications for the application of BSG in the context of business and management education.

Purpose This study aims to determine system quality (SQ) and information quality (IQ) characteristics of voice assistants (VA) on smartphones that are affecting users’ satisfaction and technology acceptance, and how these affect behavioral intention (BI) to use. Design/methodology/approach This study uses the integrated model of user satisfaction and technology acceptance to evaluate users’ behavioral intention to use VAs on smartphones. The model represents a causal chain from the key characteristics of SQ and IQ to beliefs and attitudes that ultimately affect use. An online survey was conducted with 75 university students, and the data was analyzed using multivariate analysis: Simple linear regression analysis and multiple regression analysis. Findings While SQ and IQ of VAs had stronger effects on perceived ease of use (PEU), information satisfaction and PEU showed significant influences on perceived usefulness (PU). The results supported the influence of PEU, PU, and attitude on BI to use but with lesser effect than what PU and attitude together had on BI. Research limitations/implications The sample was drawn from a population of students at a single and small university. Although this study received 160 responses, only 75 were appropriate for analysis. Originality/value There is no research, which adopts technology acceptance and user satisfaction approaches to VAs. To measure the causal effects, this study determined system and information characteristics that could explain SQ and IQ of the current VAs on smartphones. This study tested the proposed framework within the scope of the integrated approach.

Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan dan Arsip (SIPA) adalah sebuah website yang dikembangkan oleh perpustakaan daerah di kabupaten Buleleng sebagai alternative dalam mendukung pengelolaan dan mempermudah pengguna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan dan Arsip (SIPA) di Kabupaten Buleleng dengan berdasarkan menggunakan Model Unified Theory Of Acceptance and Use Of Technology (UTAUT) dengan menggunakan empat variabel bebas yakni  performance expectancy,  effort expectancy, social influence dan  facilitating conditions sebagai variable bebas dengan  behavioral intention dan use behavior sebagai variable terikat dan variable moderator Age, Gender dan experience. Variabel Ekpektansi Kinerja dan variabel Ekspektasi usaha tidak berpengaruh positif terhadap  minat penggunaan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan. Pengaruh sosial berpengaruh positif terhadap minat penggunaan, Kondisi yang memfasilitasi berpengaruh positif terhadap perilaku penggunaan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan, Variabel moderator jenis kelamin tidak memperkuat hubungan antara ekspektasi kinerja, ekspektansi usaha dan pengaruh sosial terhadap minat penggunaan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan. The e-commerce industry has the potential to be one of the drivers of the domestic economy. One of the impacts of the advancement of e-commerce is the emergence of many online-based marketplaces or so-called e-marketplaces. However, a lot of these online marketplaces sell 90% imported products. In addition, the outbreak of Covid-19 in Indonesia has prompted the government to establish several policies that have significantly reduced MSME performance by up to 70-100%. This study aimed to provide an empirical analysis of the influence of factors based on the Technology of Acceptance Model (TAM) approach, namely e-marketplace self-efficacy, complexity, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual technology use in e-marketplaces. The sample consisted of MSMEs in East Java, especially those engaged in the food and beverage industry sector with ready-to-eat processed food products whose business activities use the Shopee e-marketplace application platform. This is an online shopping marketplace focused on mobile platforms. There were 150 respondents. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used. E-marketplace self-efficacy, complexity, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual technology use in e-marketplaces all had positive effects on each other. This showed that a system that offers convenience will improve behavior, habits, and performance for MSMEs in using e-marketplace activities. The release of tax e-billing version 2 by the Directorate General of Taxes certainly got the pros and cons of the users. Any change of a certain system is not necessarily accepted by its users. In this case the conventional tax payment system is a paper-based Tax Payment Slip into a more modern Electronic Tax Payment Slip. Various factors can affect a person in the use of a technology, therefore this research would like to examine the factors that might affect the desire of individual taxpayers in the Cirebon City to use the tax e-billing version 2. This study uses the theory of Davis F.D is the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) this theory is very popular in research about the user perception of technology acceptance. In this study used two independent variables, first is perceived usefulness and the second is perceived ease of use and the dependent variable is behavioral intention to use.The study was conducted by spreading 500 questionnaires to Taxpayer in Cirebon City, and obtained valid questionnaires as many as 435 pieces. The questionnaire obtained will then be tested by means of regression test. In this study perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly affect the desire of individual taxpayers to use the tax e-billing version 2. Abstrak Berbagai faktor dapat mempengaruhi seseorang dalam penggunaan sebuah teknologi, maka dari itu penelitian ini ingin menguji faktor-faktor yang mungkin saja mempengaruhi keinginan Wajib Pajak Orang Pribadi di lingkup Kota Cirebon untuk menggunakan e-billing pajak versi 2. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Davis F.D yaitu Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) yang sangat populer dalam penelitian tentang persepsi pengguna terhadap penerimaan teknologi. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 2 variabel independen, yaitu perceived usefulness (persepsi kebermanfaatan) dan perceived ease of use (persepsi kemudahan dalam penggunaan) serta variabel dependennya behavioral intention to use (keinginan untuk menggunakan).Penelitian dilakukan dengan menyebar 500 buah kuesioner kepada Wajib Pajak Orang Pribadi yang terdaftar di Kota Cirebon, dan didapatkan kuesioner yang sah sebanyak 435 buah. Kuesioner yang diperoleh selanjutnya akan diuji dengan alat uji regresi. Dalam penelitian ini perceived usefulness dan perceived ease of use secara signifikan mempengaruhi keinginan Wajib Pajak Orang Pribadi untuk menggunakan e-billing pajak versi 2.
