COLLEGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING PHP AND MYSQL

The traditional university education and teaching management information system has the problems of low information recall, poor information precision, and long query time. Therefore, this paper designs a university education and teaching management information system based on Web. Through the analysis of the requirements of the higher education and teaching management information system, the design principle of the system is determined, and the structure design of the higher education and teaching management information system is realized; the teaching management information system management process is determined. By calculating the complexity of university education and teaching management information, the priority of query information is determined to effectively improve the processing effect of the system. Finally, the relational database model is designed to realize the design of university education and teaching management information system. In order to verify the effectiveness of this method, comparative experiments are designed. Experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the low information recall and the poor information precision and shorten the query time. In response to education regulations for quality assurance (QA), universities in Indonesia strongly require an integrated management information system (MIS), such as Academic MIS (AMIS). In developing AMIS, the main issues that must be addressed are the urgent need for implementing university QA standards (even though departments have already implemented their best practices for years and show reluctance to change), changing requirements, and the need for a quick delivery system despite the fact that AMIS is very large in scope. This paper contributes to modeling AMIS, which is suitable for universities in Indonesia. This research has been conducted at one of the best private universities, Parahyangan Catholic University. Having measured the quality of AMIS using several key business measures, results indicated that the proposed model successfully resolved the issues at stake.

The purpose of this study is to express the experiences, ideas, needs, and the use of information technology for the development of management information systems in a higher education institution. This study is qualitative approach research using the case study method. The research data collection uses the techniques of observation, interview, and documentation study. The research procedure used in this research consists of several research steps utilizing the case study method of Robert K. Yin: research planning, research design, research preparation, research data collection, research data analysis, and doing the research report. The research analysis is done by pattern matching. The data validity testing through data source triangulation and technique triangulation. The result of the study presents: (1) the analysis of management information system based on tacit and explicit knowledge through the process of exchanging experience, idea, and initiative, (2) the management information system design based on the needs analysis, and (3) the development of management information system using information technology.
