The set of scientific-methodological tools to secure the mechanism of economic safety management of tourism entrepreneurship is examined as an aggregate of methods, tools, and conceptual activities directed at maintaining the high level of economic safety of tourism entrepreneurship. The features of managing the tourism enterprise and economic safety are analyzed. The basic valuation principles of the reliability and efficiency of the economic safety of the tourism enterprise are determined. The basic tasks of ensuring the economic safety of a small enterprise are outlined. The need to use the integrated approach that secures more opportunities to avoid threats and limits the danger of their emergence is emphasized. The most important principles for securing the economic safety of the tourism enterprise on the microeconomic level are described. Possible practical methods of risk management for the implementation of adopted decisions are proposed. The paper proves the fact that the complex nature of the management of the economic safety of the tourism enterprise and securing the sufficiently efficient management system of detecting and eliminating the threats are provided by the establishment of the management of the economic safety system of the tourism enterprise and its functional components. Research of the methodical approaches to the management of the tourism enterprises’ economic safety allows building and describing the functional structure of the mechanism of management of the tourist enterprise’s economic safety (it is formalized and described by 5 functions: determination of aims; planning; organization and adjusting; motivation and stimulation; control and monitoring).

The article shows that when designing an organizational control system, it is most natural to use a systematic integrated approach and well-developed methods of system theory. The article continues the series of works of one of the authors devoted to the adaptation of the methods of control theory to economic objects. This paper deals with the mathematical description of the control system error. The block diagram of the organization management system is given. The system playback error is represented as the difference of the output signals of the ideal and desired systems. An equivalent and calculated system schema for error determination is presented. The mean square of the random system error is determined.

Abstract Three mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) occurring in the sub-Sahelian wet zone of West Africa are examined using observations from the 2002 Integrated Approach to the Efficient Management of Scarce Water Resources in West Africa (IMPETUS) field campaign, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) operational analyses, and Meteosat infrared imagery. These datasets enable the analysis of the synoptic-scale environment in which the MCSs were embedded, along with a high-resolution monitoring of surface parameters during the systems’ passages. The available data imply that cases I and II were of a squall-type nature. Case I propagated into a moderately sheared and rather moist lower and middle troposphere over the Upper Ouémé Valley (UOV). In contrast, case II was associated with a well-sheared and dry lower troposphere and a large, moist instability. In either case, behind the convective cluster a westward-propagating cyclonic vorticity maximum that was likely captured by the ECMWF analysis as a result of the special upper-air station at Parakou (Benin). In case I, the fast-moving vorticity signal slowed down over the Guinean Highlands where convection dissipated. Farther downstream, it might have played a role in the consolidation of an African easterly waves (AEW) trough over the West African coast and the eastern Atlantic. Case III proved to be a more stationary pattern of convection associated with a vortex in the monsoon flow. It also exhibited a moist and low shear environment.

Management of chronic diseases in a progressively aging population is a major issue in western industrialized countries and telehealth is one way to ensure the continuity of care in chronic illness. We describe here our personal experience in a telehealth and telecare centre in Italy. Between January 2000 and December 2015, 1635 elderly patients (71% male) with one or more comorbidities have undergone a telehealth program tailored to their specific disease: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)/chronic respiratory insufficiency; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/neuromuscular diseases; chronic heart failure (CHF); post-stroke; and post-cardiac surgery patients discharged from hospital after an acute event. COPD and CHF represent the majority of patients treated (accounting for 80%). Interventions performed by the nurse tutor account for 39–82% of all activities in the five different programs. Specialist second opinion represents 12–27% of the health staff activities. Previously reported results show a reduction of the re-hospitalization rate and costs, and increase in quality of life and patient satisfaction with the service. A multidisciplinary telehealth and telecare integrated approach can provide efficient management for the growing number of complex patients.

Dynamic environment imposes such conditions that make it necessary for companies to consider sources of uncertainty in designing core business processes and optimizing supply chain operations. Efficient management of a supply system requires an integrated approach towards various operational functions and related source of uncertainties. Uncertain conditions in supply network design problem such as market demands, delivery time, and facility capacity are considered and incorporated by many studies at the mathematical programming formulations as well. In this chapter, extensive review of existing SCND literature, brief overview and classification on uncertainty sources, useful strategies to deal uncertainties, model formulation with uncertain/stochastic parameters, efficient developed solution methodologies, and improvement adjustment mechanisms are discussed. Lastly, some directions for further research in this area are suggested.

With rapid population growth, there is an increasing demand for vertical use of space. The wide spread of complex and high-rise buildings, as well as the increasing number of infrastructure above or underground, requires new methods for efficient management of land property. 3D cadastre has, thus, become a necessity for land administration. However, the success of 3D cadastral systems relies on the definition of legal and institutional frameworks and requires implementing performant technical solutions. The potential of BIM and 3D GIS in this field has been demonstrated by several authors. However, cadastral development is strongly related to the national context of each country in terms of laws, institutions, etc. In this paper, an integrated approach based on BIM and 3D GIS for the implementation of a 3D cadastre in Morocco is presented. This approach demonstrates the relevance of such integration for the efficient management of cadastral information. First, a Conceptual Data Model (CDM) based on an extension of CityGML, was proposed for the management of cadastral information in Morocco. Then, a BIM modeling process was developed according to the model’s specifications and then translated to CityGML format. After that, a 3D Geodatabase was implemented in ArcGIS based on the proposed CDM. Our method was applied to a case of co-ownership building, showing several difficulties and limits in terms of 2D representation. The results show several advantages in terms of representation and management of 3D cadastral objects. In addition, some improvements are proposed to extend the concept of co-owner share to a volumetric calculation.
