In the current context of competition, consolidated destinations need to develop diversification strategies with the objective of maintaining their market share and increasing the benefits of tourism. This research aims to deepen the study of this differentiated form of tourism since its definition, components and operations need to be reviewed in order to understand its scope. In addition, its potential strategic value will be analysed from different perspectives such as destination image and economic benefit.

ABSTRACTIn the context of Islam, Islam is a comprehensive teaching which includes the concept of the state, government, economic welfare and others. In the view of Islam, the state cannot be separated from the collective concept which includes the moral foundation and Islamic sharia. In the current context, the welfare state is something that is very important and has strategic value, considering that the welfare state is considered as one of the most appropriate answers to the form of state involvement in changing people's welfare. In the Indonesian context, the ideals of realizing a welfare state have been planned long since this country was founded, although along the way it encounters many problems and challenges, even when efforts related to the tools to achieve this concept are already in place, including the rules that have been compiled in form of legislation or political policy.

AbstractThis study examines the economic feasibility of storing southeastern U.S. Red Delicious apples under various circumstances. Circumstances encompassed type of storage, potential market share in the storage periods, perceived level of quality, and opportunity cost of storage. Reactive programming was used to allocate shipments throughout the harvest and storage periods. Except for apples harvested in August, storage was found to be economically feasible under all situations studied. The greatest economic benefit to producers was shown to come from the synergistic effect of storage and improvement in perceived quality.

The view is widely held in the literature on business policy that not only does structure follow strategy, but that size (measured in terms of turnover) and diversification strategy are closely correlated. This paper examines the relationship between degree of diversification and sales turnover of several South African listed companies which undertook diversification strategies between 1970 and 1976. The results show that there is no significant correlation between turnover and degree of diversification among these companies. Both small and large firms are seen to have similar degrees of diversification. The findings suggest that firms should avoid diversifying into several different markets while having a relatively small market share in each, as both managerial and financial resources then become too thinly spread. Such companies are likely takeover candidates in recessionary periods.

In recent years rate of domestic tourist to Goa has gone up but not the foreign tourist. This has led to loss of shack culture and gypsy experience being marketed by Goa as destination image. Policy makers have tried to rejuvenate the destination but with little success. One of the explanations to this problem is in a fundamental of marketing which states that Marketing strategies should have their base in segmentation and targeting policies of the product. A mismatch in the two could lead to decreased market share. This is well accepted in marketing of products however, in case of destination marketing the fundamental is lost. The current paper tries to use case study of Goa. This paper is an attempt to illustrate how segmentation and targeting problems have led to marketing mix issues for the destination and influenced its market share and led to serious marketing woes. The study was undertaken with the specific objective to understand the marketing woes Goa as a destination is facing. Data was collected from 298 foreign tourist visiting Goa. The study tried to meet this objective by studying the discriminators of foreign tourist satisfaction. The results of the discriminant analysis indicated that three factors were significant predictors of satisfaction in terms of foreign tourist in Goa i.e. experience, hygiene and safety. The results of the study further indicated that there was a need for the Goan Government to make policies specific to experience and quality of experience the destination offers. A dimension wise detailed analysis was also undertaken to help the Goan Government develop specific strategies. The specific targeting strategy would also help the government develop a more effective positioning strategy and basis for performance evaluation. Therefore, the segmentation of the market on basis of psychometric variable will help Goa develop a more effective marketing strategy. However, there is a need to convert these into demographic variables for practical reasons which can be explored as future areas of research.

Well-established results indicate that export diversification might be a better growth strategy for an emerging economy as long as its GDP per capita level is smaller than an empirically defined threshold. As average incomes in Russian regions are likely to be far below the threshold, it might be important to estimate their diversification potential. The paper discusses the Atlas of economic complexity for Russian regions created to visualize regional export baskets, to estimate their complexity and evaluate regional export potential. The paper’s results are consistent with previous findings: the complexity of export is substantially higher and diversification potential is larger in western and central regions of Russia. Their export potential might become larger if western and central regions, first, try to join global value added chains and second, cooperate and develop joint diversification strategies. Northern and eastern regions are by contrast much less complex and their diversification potential is small.

The subject of alignment is not new to the world of education. Today however, it has come to mean different things and to have a heuristic value in education according to research in different areas, not least for neuroscience, and to attention to skills and to the alternation framework. This paper, after looking at the classic references that already attributed an important role to alignment in education processes, looks at the strategic role of alignment in the current context, outlining the shared construction processes and focusing on some of the ways in which this is put into effect.Alignment is part of a participatory, enactive approach that gives a central role to the interaction between teaching and learning, avoiding the limits of behaviourism, which has a greater bias towards teaching, and cognitivism/constructivism, which focus their attention on learning and in any case, on that which separates a teacher preparing the environment and a student working in it.
