Coconut water widely consumed as a health drink by people around the world. This led to an urge to study various properties of Cocus nucifera. We evaluated anti oxidant and phyto chemical constituents of two variety of coconut the yellow and green variety. Phytochemical assays showed the presence of terpinoids, alkaloids, resin, sugars, steroids, glycosides and tannins in both the dwarfs but yellow variety showed more amount of photochemical constituents. In both the variety of coconut water antioxidants were found. In the assay of DPPH, scavenging of nitric oxide assay and scavenging of hydrogen peroxide the presence of antioxidants were proved against the standard ascorbic acid. Results found yellow variety to be more potent antioxidant. All assays proved yellow dwarf was healthier than green dwarfs with more health benefits and medicinal properties.

Antioxidant play an important role to protect damage caused oxidative stress (OS).Chlorophyll having phenolic contents are reported to possess antioxidant properties. The present study was designed to investigate the antioxidant properties of methanolic solution from Super Chlorophyll. Objective: The main objective of the study was to evaluate the antioxidant activity of the chlorophyll in different validated in vitro models. Methods: The antioxidant activities of methanolic solution were evaluated by in vitro standard method using UV-Spectrophotometer. The antioxidant activity were determined bt total antioxidant capacity, DPPH (1-1-diphennyl-2-picrylhydrzine) radical scavenging assay, Nitric Oxide scavenging assay and Hydrogen Peroxide scavenging assay methods. Result: The solution of Chlorophyll was studied for antioxidant potential. Ascorbic acid was used as standard. This method is simple and activity of the solution is reported in term of IC50 value. Antioxidant properties depend on the IC50 value. Lesser the IC50 value, more is the antioxidant activity. Chlorophyll showed good antioxidant activity. Conclusion:  In case of in vitro antioxidant activity, Chlorophyll scavenged DPPH, hydrogen peroxide, nitric oxide radicals significantly, showed IC50 values near to standard ascorbic acid, thus proving to have good antioxidant potential. Oxidation of LDL has been suggested to be an initial step in the development of atherosclerosis. This research work deals with the evaluation of antioxidant potential of Plectranthus glandulosus leaves extracts and fractions as well as its protective effects against human LDL oxidation. A preliminary quantitative phytochemical screening was carried out. Antioxidant potential was evaluated employing in vitro hydrogen peroxide, nitric oxide scavenging assays and TAOC test. The human LDL oxidation induced by CuSO4 inhibition test was also performed. Plectranthus glandulosus leaves exhibited the presence of 18.3% of saponines, 25.6% of terpenoids and 36.2% of flavonoids. EAF exhibited highest hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide scavenger activity (IC50 13.63µg/ml and 24.59 µg/ml respectively). Ascorbic acid exhibited an IC50 value of 15.39µg/ml in hydrogen peroxide assay and 22.96 µg/ml in nitric oxide scavenging activity. EAF exhibited a higher TAOC (optical density 0.186±0.00) than that of ascorbic acid (0.162±0.001) at the concentration of 25µg/ml while at 200µg/ml N-BUTF exhibited a higher optical density (1.261±0.001) than that of ascorbic acid (1.065±0.001). EAF lengthened the lag time of the CD formation up to 150mins at the concentration 1mg/ml. TBARS formation inhibition at the concentration 0.5mg/ml, were no significant different between n-butanol (68.55%) ethyl acetate fraction (68.21%) and quercetin 67.69%). Plectranthus glandulosus is a promising prospect as an anti-atherosclerotic agent and needs a detailed study to establish the same. Role of nitric oxide(NO) and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) in eATP-inhibited reduction of in vitro pollen germination and tube growth of Paulownia tomentosa Steud. were studied. Results showed that exposure of the pollen to a series of eATP (0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 mM) concentration for 3h resulted in not only the reduction of pollen germination but also the reduction of tube growth. Also, NOS inhibitor NG-nitro-L-Arg-methyl eater (L-NAME ), NO scavenger 2-(4-carboxyphenyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3- oxide(c-PTIO) and two scavengers of H2O2, ascorbic acid (ASC) and catalase (CAT) not only largely prevented eATP-inhibited pollen germination but also tube growth. These results indicated that NO and H2O2are involved in eATP inhibited pollen germination and tube growth.

Silver nanoplates (SNPs) having different size were synthesized by a seed-mediated method. The seeds -silver nanoparticles with 4 – 6 nm diameters were synthesized first by reducing silver nitrate with sodium borohydride in the present of Trisodium Citrate and Hydrogen peroxide. Then these seeds were developed by continue reducing Ag\(^+\) ions with various amount of L-Ascorbic acid to form SNPs. Our analysis showed that the concentratrion of L-Ascorbic acid, a secondary reducing agent, played an important role to form SNPs. In addition, the size and in-plane dipole plasmon resonance wavelenght of silver nanoplates were increased when the concentration of added silver nitrate increased. The characterization of SNPs were studied by UV-Vis, FE-SEM, EDS and TEM methods.

Hyperlipidemia is the immediate results of the excessive fat intake in food. This results in the elevated levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. This leads to heart conditions like CAD, hypertension, congestive heart failure as risk factors which can be lethal. There are many drugs to treat and control the lipids levels in the body. These drugs are either designed to prevent LDL accumulation and VLDL synthesis. Some drugs also lower the elevated levels of saturated lipids in the body. But many drugs are known to cause side effects and adverse effects; therefore, alternatives to the drugs are the subjects for current investigations. Herbs and medicinal plants are used as treatment sources for many years. They have been used in the Indian medical systems like Ayurveda, Siddha etc. As the application of herbs in the treatment is growing, there is an urgent need for the establishment of Pharmacological reasoning and standardization of the activity of the medicinal plants. Chloris paraguaiensis Steud. is Poyaceae member that is called locally as Uppugaddi. Traditionally it is used to treat Rheumatism, Diabetes, fever and diarrhoea. The chemical constituents are known to have anti-oxidant properties and most of the anti-oxidants have anti-hyperlipidemic activity too. Since the plant has abundant flavonoid and phenol content, the current research focusses on the investigation of the anti-hyperlipidemic activity of the plant Chloris extracts. Extracts of Chloris at 200mg/kg showed a comparably similar anti hyperlipidemia activity to that of the standard drug. The extracts showed a dose based increase in the activity at 100 and 200mg/kg body weight.

Justicia gendarussa Burm .f. (family Acanthaceae) which is also known as willow-leaves and commonly known as Nili-Nirgundi, it is very commonly found nearby to China and its availability is very common in larger parts of India and Andaman islands. Traditionally it is used to treat various sorts of disorders such as wound healing, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, antiproliferative, anti-arthritic etc. Justicia gendarussa is one of the crucial herbs which has been used in the Ayurveda. Majorly leaves parts of the plant shows the pharmacological activity but the root of the plant Justicia gendarussa is also have the important medicinal values. A large variety of pharmacologically active constituents i.e., alkaloids, flavonoids, saponin, carbohydrates, steroids, triterpenoids, carotenoids, aminoacids, tannins, phenolics, coumarines and anthaquinones are also present in this plant and they makes the plant pharmacologically important. The activity of the plant is also dependent on the solvent which is used for the extraction the various vital chemical constituents. The different- different parts of the plants having the different medicinal values also differ in the chemical values. This review is not only focused on the essential phytochemical constituents which is available in the plant but it also explains their necessary medicinal value to shows the essential biological action and phytopharmacological actions of various parts of the plant.
