Tablet manufacturing involves the processing of raw materials through several unit operations. Thus, the mitigation of input-induced variability should also consider the downstream processability of intermediary products. The objective of the present work was to study the effect of variable raw materials and processing conditions on the compression properties of granules containing two active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and microcrystalline cellulose. Differences in compressibility and tabletability of granules were highlighted in function of the initial particle size of the first API, granule polydispersity and fragmentation. Moreover, interactions were underlined with the atomizing pressure. Changing the supplier of the second API was efficiently controlled by adapting the binder addition rate and atomizing pressure during granulation, considering the starting crystal size. By fitting mathematical models on the available compression data, the influence of diluent source on granule compactibility and tabletability was identified. These differences resumed to the ease of compaction, tableting capacity and pressure sensitivity index due to variable water binding capacity of microcrystalline cellulose. Building the design space enabled the identification of suitable API types and the appropriate processing conditions (spray rate, atomizing pressure, compression force) required to ensure the desired tableting performance.

Introduction. The article discusses methods of screening for hearing impairments in patients of the older age group in the frame-work of primary health care.Aim of the study. Conduct a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of different hearing assessment protocols in primary health care.Materials and methods. Сlinical and demographic data were collected in 585 elderly and senile patients (mean age 76.43 ± 9.83), tonal threshold audiometry was performed in the frequency range from 250 Hz to 12000 Hz, hearing was studied using the web application “Automated primary hearing assessment” (patent No. 2019664671) and analyzed the self-assessment of hearing with the HHIE questionnaire.Results. Most of the patients were elderly people (57.44%) with a high percentage of concomitant diseases (up to 89.23%). When interviewing a geriatrician about a complaint of hearing loss, a sensitivity of 91.5% and a specificity of 82.2% for detecting mild hearing loss, a sensitivity of 95.5% and a specificity of 71.8% for screening for moderate to severe hearing loss were obtained. When assessing the total score of the HHIE questionnaire (>17 points) and moderate hearing loss, the sensitivity was 84.7% and the specificity was 88.7%. The sensitivity index of the web application «Automated primary hearing assessment» for detecting moderate hearing impairment was 90.6% for the left ear and 88.5% for the right ear, and specificity – 88.5% for the left ear and 97.5% for the right ear.Discussion. Raising awareness of hearing problems through the introduction of feasible methods of assessing hearing function should lead to an increase in the number of older adults receiving adequate hearing rehabilitation.Conclusions. The authors conclude that it is important to take preliminary account of data on the sensitivity and specificity of assessment protocols for detecting hearing impairments of varying severity at the stage of examination of an older patient by a geriatrician and an otorhinolaryngologist.

We address the following question: Are turning points of daily air temperature function a piece of relevant climatological information worth recording and analyzing? Diurnal Extrema Timing (DET) are daily occurrence times of air temperature minimum and maximum. Although unrecognized and unrecorded as a meteorological variable, the exact timing of daily temperature extrema plays a crucial role in the characterization of air temperature variability. In this study, we introduce the DET concept and assess the plausibility of this potential parameter in detecting temperature extrema timing changes. Conceptualization of the DET parameter has, for a primary goal, the supplementation of vital spatial information to the daily measurements of air temperature extrema. The elementary analysis of annual trends of daily DET examines the significance of this parameter in describing changes in the time domain of air temperature variability. The introduction of the new Climate Parameter Sensitivity Index (CPSI) for evaluating the susceptibility of climate parameters to climate change directs attention to the importance of the systematic acquisition of the timing of daily extrema in climate observations. The results of this study reveal the timing of daily air temperature maximum as the most vulnerable to climate change among temperature and timing extrema indices.

The major challenges in deregulated system are determination of available transfer capability on the interconnected transmission lines. Electricity industry deregulation is the required for creating a competitive market throughout the world, which instigate new technical issues to market participants and Power System Operators (PSO). Power transfer capability is a crucial parameter to decide the power flow in the lines for further transactions and the estimation of Transfer Capability decides the power transactions based on the safety and ability of the system. This parameter will decide if an interconnected network could be reliable for the transfer of bulk power between two different areas of the network without causing risk to system consistency. The Power Transfer Distribution Factor (PTDF) is the sensitivity index, which decides the transfer capability in the interconnected network under deregulated power systems. This experiment is conducted on IEEE-6 bus system using Power World Simulator to determine the transfer capability in deregulated system under line outage condition.

As the density of the high-speed railway network continues to increase, the problem of electromagnetic interference on adjacent lines has become increasingly prominent. This paper focuses on the electromagnetic interference of adjacent lines caused by rail and line in the signal transmission process of the high-speed rail track circuit. Firstly, complete the establishment of the four-terminal network model of the ZPW-2000A track circuit system and the cab signal entry current crosstalk model, calculation of interference voltage under different parallel length of signal frequency. Then the interference factors and coupling mechanism of adjacent lines are analysed to realize calculation of interference amount. Finally, according to the sensitivity index of the cab signal, the maximum parallel length of adjacent sections is given respect, and the interference protection suggestions of adjacent lines are put forward. The research work of this paper provides a theoretical basis for suppressing the interference of adjacent lines and guarantees the safe and efficient operation of high-speed trains.

The aim of the present study is exploring the mediation role of anxiety sensitivity on the relationships between intolerance of uncertainty and fear of COVID-19. The study was conducted with the relational screening method. The research data were collected online from 302 individuals (Male n = 76, Female n = 226) with Fear of COVID-19 Scale, Anxiety Sensitivity Index-3, Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale. The result of both mediation analysis and bootstrapping analysis (with 5000 bootstrap resamples) showed that the relationship between intolerance of uncertainty and fear of COVID-19 was mediated by anxiety sensitivity. Anxiety sensitivity decreased the effect of intolerance of uncertainty on fear of COVID-19. Moreover, comparing intolerance of uncertainty and anxiety sensitivity in terms of their predictive levels of the fear of COVID-19, it was concluded that anxiety sensitivity predicted the fear of COVID-19 more, and that anxiety sensitivity included the variance of intolerance to uncertainty associated with the fear of COVID-19. El objetivo del presente estudio es explorar el papel mediador de la sensibilidad a la ansiedad en las relaciones entre la intolerancia a la incertidumbre y el miedo al COVID-19. El estudio se realizó con el método de cribado relacional. Los datos de la investigación se recopilaron en línea de 302 personas (hombres n = 76, mujeres n = 226) con la escala de miedo a COVID-19, índice de sensibilidad a la ansiedad-3, escala de intolerancia a la incertidumbre. El resultado tanto del análisis de mediación como del análisis bootstrapping (con un remuestreo de 5000 bootstrap) mostró que la relación entre la intolerancia a la incertidumbre y el miedo al COVID-19 estaba mediada por la sensibilidad a la ansiedad. La sensibilidad a la ansiedad disminuyó el efecto de la intolerancia a la incertidumbre sobre el miedo al COVID-19. Además, al comparar la intolerancia a la incertidumbre y la sensibilidad a la ansiedad en términos de sus niveles predictivos del miedo al COVID-19, se concluyó que la sensibilidad a la ansiedad predijo más el miedo al COVID-19 y que la sensibilidad a la ansiedad incluyó la varianza de la intolerancia a la incertidumbre asociada. con el miedo al COVID-19.

Using modified asphalt binder is one of the most effective methods to solve the rutting problem of asphalt pavement, but the traditional G ∗ / sin     δ parameter is not enough to characterize the rutting resistance of modified asphalt in field use. In order to accurately evaluate the high temperature performance of asphalt and establish the relationship between the rutting resistance of binder and mixture, two kinds of matrix asphalt and three kinds of modified asphalt were selected for DSR and MSCR tests. G ∗ / sin     δ , nonrecoverable creep compliance Jnr, recovery rate R, and other parameters were used to characterize the permanent deformation resistance of the binder, and the correlation between these parameters and the results of rutting test was analyzed. The results show that Jnr3.2 can accurately characterize the permanent deformation resistance of asphalt, while the stress sensitivity index Jnrdiff is not applicable to all types of modified asphalt. In contrast, Jnrslope can better reflect the stress sensitivity of asphalt, and Jnrslope is significantly correlated with the results of rutting test.

The application of Photovoltaic (PV) is one solution to the increasing demand for electrical energy. However, the application of photovoltaic (PV) must be in the right location and capacity so that the power loss you want to reduce is large and the voltage profile is good. Photovoltaic (PV) generates DC voltage which is then required by an inverter to convert it to AC. The inverter is a non-linear load that produces harmonics. Harmonics in an electric power system can be known from Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal location of placement (PV) and its maximum capacity so that the power loss is smaller. The resulting voltage and THD profile conform to the permitted standards. The methods used in determining the optimal location of photovoltaic (PV) are Loss Sensitivity Factor (LSF) and Voltage Sensitivity Index (VSI). ETAP 16 software is used for power and harmonic flow simulation. From this research, the most optimal photovoltaic (PV) placement is on bus 10 (bus 283 T) with a maximum capacity of 3255 kVA. This placement location provides minimal power loss and a good voltage profile taking into account the permitted standard THDv.

Autonomic nervous system (ANS) disorders are common in multiple sclerosis (MS). Previous studies showed differences in insulin resistance (IR) and lipoprotein levels in MS subjects compared to controls. Lipolysis caused by increased sympathetic activity could be one of the possible linking mechanisms leading to dyslipidemia in MS. Our study aimed to evaluate ANS activity in the context of glucose and lipid metabolism in people with MS. We prospectively measured short-term heart rate variability (HRV), fasting lipoprotein concentrations, and calculated IR indices based on plasma glucose and insulin levels during oral glucose tolerance test (oGTT) in 32 patients with MS and 29 healthy controls matched for age, sex and body mass index in our study. There was no significant difference in HRV parameters and lipoprotein levels between MS and controls. A significant positive correlation was found between low/high-frequency power ratio (LF/HF) and triglycerides (r=0.413, p=0.021) in MS subjects but not in controls. A significantly lower whole-body insulin sensitivity index (ISIMat) was found in patients with MS compared to the control group (7.3±3.7 vs. 9.8±5.6, p=0.041). No significant correlations were found between LF/HF and IR parameters. In MS subjects, the positive correlation of LF/HF with triglycerides could reflect the effects of sympathetic activity on lipolysis. Positive correlations of sympathetic activity with increased lipoprotein levels could rather reflect processes associated with immune system activation/inflammation, than processes involved in glucose homeostasis maintenance.
