The prison officers belong to a slightly known category, despite the transparency ensured after 1989 both by strengthening the relationship with the media institutions and by organizing the "open days" activities. They work in a closed environment between 8 and 12 hours a day, inconstant interaction with a relatively stable population the size of the administrative-territorial unit of a village type. The working schedule is on the one hand routine, on the other hand impacted by unforeseen situations, from those of major risk to those related to the management of the relationship and communication issues within the groups formed in the detention rooms. The mission is twofold, one side consisting in actions taken to maintain the security and safety of the community and the place of detention, and the other side represent the contribution to the education / re-education of convicts by influencing them, both directly and indirectly. The prison staff is seen as a teaching tool itself, their example being the trigger factor of the prisoners’ desire to change. Taking in consideration the numerical ratio between staff and prisoners, the situations in which one can ‘abdicate’ from the mission are excluded, so that the efficiency of the activity is conditioned by the maintenance of a continuous state of alert. After the working schedule, the prison officers continue their personal life, ensuring adequate emotional support for family members, participating in activities of the group of friends, etc., without projecting the accumulated stress from the workplace. But, intentionally or not, the transfer occurs, so that the effects of working in a closed environment marked by tensions and negative emotional charge are also felt by those close to them. Through their work, the prison officers contribute to the increasing of the quality of life to the community they belong to and the quality of life in detention (ensuring community security, individual and group safety, supporting the educational/re-educational process, ensuring somato-psycho-emotional health, etc.).Starting from this reality, through an opinion poll, we identified some of the needs to recover the work capacity, a necessary step to ensure a quality life for prison staff.

The socio-educational inclusion of children with special educational needs is an insufficiently explored topic in Romania, despite the fact that we are part of many international organizations that support human rights and an increasing number of nationally ratified conventions. This paper aims to capture the perception and attitude of teachers on the rights and possibilities of these children to integrate into mainstream education, identifying obstacles and possible solutions. The study was conducted through an opinion poll and a focus group with the participation of teachers from mainstream education units. The main conclusions show that regular education will not be able to integrate children with special educational needs, in the absence of differentiated teaching/ learning, programs and assessments tailored to the specifics of each child, a thorough training of teachers and support of specialized staff, parents and community.

The huge and sudden challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic created the need for quick governmental decisions, at the same time provoking changes in subjective public perception. The article empirically analyses the attitudes of different groups in Lithuania towards the COVID-19 situation, government actions and changes in subjective personal well-being. A representative public opinion poll (N-804) was conducted to achieve this goal. Empirical research sought to elucidate individual self-protection measures, attitudes towards the danger of the virus, government-implemented measures to combat the pandemic, and common stereotypes as well as consequences for subjective well-being. The cluster analysis confirmed the assumption that there is a link between the perception of the role of society and expectations towards the government, and between the dynamics of trust in key political actors and support for specific government actions in the context of a pandemic. If the group is more self-reliant, government policies that regulate even small aspects of public life lead to disagreement (in the case of 1st cluster), and vice versa, if the group has high expectations of government, it receives support (in the case of 3rd cluster).

The main objective of the present research is to identify the advantages and benefits that the use and implementation of 5G technology has on the development and evolution of the Romanian business environment. The study is based on a theoretical documentation regarding existing information in the field and a descriptive analysis of the evolution of the technology in Romania and worldwide. The research method chosen is a survey based on an opinion poll (questionnaire) to find out the availability of economic entities regarding the implementation of 5G technologies, the foreseen expectations and those realized by the business environment regarding the effects of 5G technologies on the economic activities and the benefits that 5G networks offer them. The analysis of the results of the questionnaire, through the correlations and contingency tables determined, allowed the validation of the research hypotheses, and the results show availability and interest for the implementation of 5G technology (over 69% agree with the 5G implementation over a period of up to 5 years), conditioned by the costs, the high degree of cyber security, and the competitive advantages it can generate. Competition, low productivity, and even external pressures are the main decisive factors in the implementation of 5G. Thus, it can be considered useful to extend the research by identifying possible viable solutions or alternatives, customized for the implementation of 5G technologies for economic entities from different sectors, as well as the analysis of the implementation costs and the potential economic benefits.

AbstractBreast cancer is a public health challenge globally as well as in India. Improving outcome and cure requires appropriate biomarker testing to assign risk and plan treatment. Because it is documented that significant ethnic and geographical variations in biological and genetic features exist worldwide, such biomarkers need to be validated and approved by authorities in the region where these are intended to be used. The use of western guidelines, appropriate for the Caucasian population, can lead to inappropriate overtreatment or undertreatment in Asia and India. A virtual meeting of domain experts discussed the published literature, real-world practical experience, and results of opinion poll involving 185 oncologists treating breast cancer across 58 cities of India. They arrived at a practical consensus recommendation statement to guide community oncologists in the management of hormone positive (HR-positive) Her2-negative early breast cancer (EBC). India has a majority (about 50%) of breast cancer patients who are diagnosed in the premenopausal stage (less than 50 years of age). The only currently available predictive test for HR-positive Her2-negative EBC that has been validated in Indian patients is CanAssist Breast. If this test gives a score indicative of low risk (< 15.5), adjuvant chemotherapy will not increase the chance of metastasis-free survival and should not be given. This is applicable even during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The development of prediction markets has naturally given rise to studies of their efficiency. Most studies of efficiency in prediction markets have focused on the speed with which they incorporate information. A necessary (but not sufficient) condition of efficiency is that arbitrage opportunities must non-existent or transitory in nature so that the systematic generation of abnormal profits is not possible. Using data from New Zealand’s first prediction market, iPredict, I examine the potential for arbitrage in the contracts for the party vote for the 2011 General Election. Relative to the risk-free interest rate, the returns from arbitrage are generally low, consistent with an efficient market. Regression analysis requires that the data not be subject to the possibility of spurious regressions - something that is not addressed in the literature. After confirming the non-stationarity of the price level and the stationarity of the price changes by the unit root test, I use the iPredict data in conjunction with opinion poll data to test whether the polls impact on market pricing behaviour. Using a number of different model types, I find that the opinion poll data has a very limited impact on market prices, suggesting that the information contained in the poll is largely already incorporated into market prices.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the worldview of the Russian youth on the basis of the results of the opinion poll carried out by the author’s methods in St. Petersburg and Krasnoyarsk in 2019 – 2020. The subject of the study was to discover the understanding of such notions as family, people, patriotism by the young Russians, to reveal the values of the young, to examine their attitude towards ethnic issues , among them – interethnic marriages and ethnic self-identification of the children in such families. The author reveals in what degree each of the studied categories transforms in the conscience of the young in view of the ideology of transhumanism, as well as how these transformations occur. The sources of the transformations are viewed as the consequence of the imposition of political and technological project, which is transhumanism per se. The mechanisms of such project influence are analyzed, in particular, the influence on the conscience of the youth, and the author explains which elements of the said mechanisms and why are prone to corrosion first of all. The author comes out with the suggestions how to resist the transhumanistic project and how to induce the young to this resistance.

The study represents an analysis of the pandemic impact on working conditions of teachers employed in general primary and secondary education institutions in the Republic of Moldova. The analysis is based on an opinion poll carried out among the didactic staff and relates the working conditions during the pandemic to the provisions stipulated in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, as well as those in the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova. The poll results denote the fact that the working conditions of the didactic staff have changed for the worse during the pandemic, having aggravated some chronic problems of Moldovan education, whereas exercising labour rights in conformity with international and constitutional engagements implies rationalization of work and providing necessary remuneration for a decent life.
