In the light of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is crucial to manage tourist destinations to allow the recovery of tourism on the one hand and reduce its negative impact on the environment and the local community on the other. Information provided via social media (SM) by both residents and tourists can help restart tourism. This paper identifies ways of sharing travel experiences by tourists on social media. The research was conducted in Poland on a sample of 271 respondents from each generation using questionnaires. Results showed that the way tourists use SM during and after their trip differs by generation and gender what could be used in promoting responsible behaviour for sustainable tourism. Differences between generations can be observed in behaviours such as ongoing planning the trip, obtaining information about the place to stay, keeping a photo album for friends, and writing reviews. Moreover, more often than men, women use SM to obtain information about the place of stay and share their impressions of the trip by sending MMS or emails. Tracking tourists’ travel behaviour on social media will allow city managers to gather information and respond to their needs and expectations and ensure effective urban management and city promotion.

Aiming at the problem of high-precision positioning of mass-pedestrians with low-cost sensors, a robust single-antenna Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)/Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) integration scheme is proposed with Gate Recurrent Unit (GRU)-based zero-velocity detector. Based on the foot-mounted pedestrian navigation system, the error state extended Kalman filter (EKF) framework is used to fuse GNSS position, zero-velocity state, barometer elevation, and other information. The main algorithms include improved carrier phase smoothing pseudo-range GNSS single-point positioning, GRU-based zero-velocity detection, and adaptive fusion algorithm of GNSS and PDR. Finally, the scheme was tested. The root mean square error (RMSE) of the horizontal error in the open and complex environments is lower than 1 m and 1.5 m respectively. In the indoor elevation experiment where the elevation difference of upstairs and downstairs exceeds 25 m, the elevation error is lower than 1 m. This result can provide technical reference for the accurate and continuous acquisition of public pedestrian location information.

The theoretical propositions of the algebra of logic are considered. It is noted that the current microcircuitry based on the algebra of logic contains logical statements: true (yes) is a logical unit, false (no) is a logical zero. Based on the given logical function: ((ABC)×D + A×(BCD) + A×(BC)×D + (AB)×(CD), frontal, minimal, transformed minimal variants of the combination device are implemented, as well as minimized variants in the bases "AND-NOT" and "OR-NOT". A combination device based on import-substituting chips of 155, 176 series has been designed. The analysis of the obtained devices is made from the standpoint of technical and economic indicators, in particular, an assessment of the number of logic elements used, an assessment of the symmetry of the structure, as a result, a reduction in energy consumption, an increase in performance, improvements in parameters for reliability of functioning, a decrease in weight and size characteristics. Assuming that the law of change of the information parameter U1 is close to linear, taking into account the effect of temperature as boundary values for the elements of the applied microcircuits, taking the values -60 °C and +120°. Accordingly, the parametric reliability of the optimal implementation of the device according to the output voltage parameter is calculated. The conclusion is made about the inverse dependence of parametric reliability on temperature growth. A recommendation is given when evaluating parametric reliability for a number of other information parameters about the need to take into account both the number of chips used and the type of their interconnections.

The subject of the research is the legal nature of the digital profile of a citizen, as well as a set of legal norms regulating digital profiling relations in Russia.The comparative method, the method of system analysis, as well as the method of legal modeling are used in the article.The purpose of the article is to confirm or disprove the hypothesis that legal regulation is not the only mechanism for regulating relations in the field of digital profiling.The main results, scope of application. The article studies the phenomenon of digital profile, the main approaches to the digital profiling as well as the circumstances that have caused the state's interest in digital profiling. The creation and operation of a digital profile should be aimed at achieving the goal set out in the legislation. The digital profile is a set of relevant, reliable information about individuals and legal entities formed in the unified identification and authentication system or other information systems of state and local government authorities. The formation of a digital profile is carried out in order to provide data to authorities, legal entities and persons who have requested access to this information through the digital profile infrastructure. The analysis of the Russian legal regulation of relations in the field of digital profiling is presented, the problems of enforcement practice are identified. The analysis revealed the main differences between the digital profile and related categories, including social scoring, the unified population register and others. The comparison of a digital profile with a digital avatar and a digital character was carried out. It is extremely important to pay close attention to the problems of digital profiling both at the level of fundamental and applied scientific research. At the state level, it is important to strategically determine what a digital profile is, as well as formulate the main directions of the digital profiling development, challenges and risks. The importance of the development of digital profiling for unified system of public authorities in the Russian Federation is outlined.Conclusions. The analysis of the emerging practice of digital profiling in contemporary society shows that legal regulation does not always allow us to keep up with the rapidly developing relations in this area. The possibility of using other mechanisms should be considered. The use of mechanisms of regulatory experiments can also be considered as special mechanisms for regulating relations in the field of digital profiling. The goal of the research has been achieved, the legal nature of the digital profile has been revealed, approaches to regulating this phenomenon in the conditions of digital transformation have been proposed.

Purpose/Thesis: The article presents the concept of university course in digital humanities for future information professionals. Approach/Methods: The concept of university course in digital humanities draws on the author’s deep knowledge of digital humanities as well as the particular models of research project lifecycle. The concept consists of three elements: the description of educational aims, the graduate’s profile, and the learning outcomes. Results and conclusions: The author proposes that university course in digital humanities should be provided as a part of specialization within a Master program for information professionals. Classes will give students a basic knowledge of a given discipline in the humanities and the theoretical aspects of digital humanities, as well as its structure and history. Students will also learn about information and knowledge organization, digital sources used in humanities, information systems, digital collections, research data management, and scholarly editions. Graduates would be equipped to work at research institutions running digital humanities projects or providing research infrastructure for digital humanists, e.g. academic libraries, museums, archives, digital humanities centers and laboratories. Practical implications: The concept may be used to prepare a detailed program of specialization by faculties offering information science programs. Although the concept has been developed in the context of Polish higher education, it can be modified and adapted successfully in other countries, especially in the EU countries which, like Poland, need to meet the European Qualifications Framework. Originality/Value: Formal university course in digital humanities for information professionals is not very common. The concept of a specialization within a Master program proposed in this article fills this gap so that a new generation of librarians and other information professionals will become more proficient intermediaries between humanists and information.

Vesicular transport proteins are related to many human diseases, and they threaten human health when they undergo pathological changes. Protein function prediction has been one of the most in-depth topics in bioinformatics. In this work, we developed a useful tool to identify vesicular transport proteins. Our strategy is to extract transition probability composition, autocovariance transformation and other information from the position-specific scoring matrix as feature vectors. EditedNearesNeighbours (ENN) is used to address the imbalance of the data set, and the Max-Relevance-Max-Distance (MRMD) algorithm is adopted to reduce the dimension of the feature vector. We used 5-fold cross-validation and independent test sets to evaluate our model. On the test set, VTP-Identifier presented a higher performance compared with GRU. The accuracy, Matthew’s correlation coefficient (MCC) and area under the ROC curve (AUC) were 83.6%, 0.531 and 0.873, respectively.

AbstractThe Bayesian paradigm for parameter estimation is introduced and linked to the main problem of genomic-enabled prediction to predict the trait of interest of the non-phenotyped individuals from genotypic information, environment variables, or other information (covariates). In this situation, a convenient practice is to include the individuals to be predicted in the posterior distribution to be sampled. We explained how the Bayesian Ridge regression method is derived and exemplified with data from plant breeding genomic selection. Other Bayesian methods (Bayes A, Bayes B, Bayes C, and Bayesian Lasso) were also described and exemplified for genome-based prediction. The chapter presented several examples that were implemented in the Bayesian generalized linear regression (BGLR) library for continuous response variables. The predictor under all these Bayesian methods includes main effects (of environments and genotypes) as well as interaction terms related to genotype × environment interaction.

People seek information as a part of their daily routine. However, seeking information should be associated with a degree of caution. Not all information published in traditional and online media is credible and can be trusted, as many information outlets do not filter the information shared. People need to understand that fake news and misinformation might pose a significant danger to their safety. This chapter discusses misinformation and fake news that are shared on social media and other information outlets. The author represents some of the issues related to misinformation, fake news, and their impact on the communities, organizations, and governments.

Information hiding is a technology aimed at the secure hiding of important information into digital documents or media. In this paper, a new approach is proposed for the secure hiding of information into gray scale images. The hiding is performed in two stages. In the first stage, the binary bits in the sequence of information are shuffled and encoded with a set of integer keys and a system of one-dimensional logistic mappings. In the second stage, the resulting sequence is embedded into the gray values of selected pixels in the given image. A dynamic programming method is utilized to select the pixels that minimize the difference between a cover image and the corresponding stego image. Experiments show that this approach outperforms other information hiding methods by 13.1% in Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) on average and reduces the difference between a stego image and its cover image to 0 in some cases.

<abstract> <p>Since the inception of the current pandemic, COVID-19 related misinformation has played a role in defaulting control of the situation. It has become evident that the internet, social media, and other communication outlets with readily available data have contributed to the dissemination and availability of misleading information. It has perpetuated beliefs that led to vaccine avoidance, mask refusal, and utilization of medications with insignificant scientific data, ultimately contributing to increased morbidity. Undoubtedly, misinformation has become a challenge and a burden to individual health, public health, and governments globally. We performed a literature search of databases such as Pubmed, Google, GoogleScholar. The key descriptors used for the search purposes were “COVID-19”, “Coronavirus”, “SARS-CoV-2”, “communication”, “healthcare”, “misinformation”, and “social media”. This literature review aims at providing an overview and summary regarding the role of media, other information outlets, and their impact on the pandemic. The goal of this article is to increase awareness of the negative impact of misinformation on the pandemic. In addition, we discuss a few recommendations that could aid in decreasing this burden, as preventing the conception and dissemination of misinformation is essential.</p> </abstract>
