Abstract Physical activity (PA) has been shown to moderate the negative effects of obesity on pro-inflammatory cytokines but its relationship with the adipokine progranulin (PGRN) remains poorly investigated. This study aimed to examine the cross-sectional main and interactive associations of body mass index (BMI) and PA level with circulating PGRN in older adults. Five-hundred and twelve subjects aged 70 years and over involved in the Multidomain Alzheimer Prevention Trial (MAPT) Study who underwent plasma PGRN measurements (ng/ml) were included. Self –reported PA levels were assessed using questionnaires. People were classified into three BMI categories: normal weight, overweight or obesity. Further categorization using PA tertiles was used to define highly active, moderately active and low active individuals. Multiple linear regressions were performed in order to test the associations of BMI, PA level, and their interaction with PGRN levels. Multiple linear regressions adjusted by age, sex, diabetes mellitus status, total cholesterol, creatinine level and MAPT group demonstrated significant interactive associations of BMI status and continuous PA such that in people without obesity, higher PA levels were associated with lower PGRN concentrations, while an opposite pattern was found in individuals with obesity. In addition, continuous BMI was positively associated with circulating PGRN in highly active individuals but not in their less active peers. This cross-sectional study demonstrated reverse patterns in older adults with obesity compared to those without obesity regarding the relationships between PA and PGRN levels. Longitudinal and experimental investigations are required to understand the mechanisms that underlie the present findings.

This study aims to examine the effect of accounting information systems and integrity on employee performance at SMC Tasikmalaya Hospital. The populations in this study were employees of the SMC Tasikmalaya Hospital as many as 491 people. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling. The data used is primary data obtained directly from respondents using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regressions. The results of this study indicate that the accounting information system partially affects employee performance. Integrity partially affects employee performance. Meanwhile, simultaneously accounting information system and integrity affect employee performance.

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of intangible assets, firm size, tax compliance, leverage on transfer pricing. The data analysis uses multiple linear regressions on 12 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2015-2019. The results of this study show that intangible assets, firm size, tax compliance, leverage simultaneously have a significant effect on a company’s decision to practice transfer pricing, as well as intangible assets and leverage partially, have a positive and significant effect on transfer pricing. But firm size partly has a negative and significant effect on transfer pricing. Meanwhile, tax compliance has no significant effect on transfer pricing.  Keywords: Intangible Assets, Firm Size, Tax Compliance, Leverage, and Transfer Pricing

Budgeting cannot be separated from personality and by itself arises from the human individual—people who will make and run the budget. With the budget, financial management will be better. This research was conducted to find out the influence of mental budgeting and motivation on the financial management of individuals. This research was conducted through a questionnaire survey distributed to polytechnic students in 2021 who had taken budget and financial management courses. The sample from this study was 108 samples using Slovin and random sampling techniques. It was then continued with hypothesis testing using multiple linear regressions. The results of this study state that mental budgeting has a positive effect on individuals' financial management, and motivations positively affect personal financial management.

The purpose of this study is to find out the difference in the success rate of Artificial Insemination of Balinese cattle in Rimbo Bujang Subdistrict, Rimbo Ilir, and to know the influence of spermatozoa resistance and spermatozoa abnormality on the success of Artificial Insemination in Balinese cattle. The method used is the survey method, while the sample withdrawal technique is used clustering. Data analysis uses multiple linear regressions. The results showed that the success of Artificial Insemination based on Service per Conception (S/C) showed the number 1.56 means the success of IB is good, while judging from the calving interval (CI) value in cattle which is 12.9 months, it means it is ideal. It can be concluded that the success of Artificial Insemination (IB) is good, while motility is the success of Artificial Insemination (IB), as well as the percentage of life and spermatozoa abnormalities does not affect the success of Artificial Insemination (IB) in Balinese cows.

The purpose of this paper is to reveal the residential satisfaction of apartment residents.  And it was measured through an antecedent (service quality) and a consequence (word of mouth) of residential satisfaction. Simple random sampling method was employed on 200 residents and multiple linear regressions were carried out. The result shows that 85% of the variance in overall customer satisfaction is accounted for by service quality. From the above findings it is clear that service quality positively influences customer satisfaction.

This study aims to examine the effects of financial knowledge, financial experience and spiritual intelligence on investment planning behavior at Oebobo District, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. The method used in this study is a qualitative method; meanwhile the data are collected through an online survey. In total, there were 105 employees participated in the survey. The participants are residents of the Oebobo sub-district, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. Furthermore, multiple linear regressions are used in analyzing the data. The results of this study revealed that partially and simultaneously financial knowledge, financial experience and spiritual intelligence relates positively to investment.

The aim of this work is to use multi-layered perceptron artificial neural networks and multiple linear regressions models to predict the efficiency of the magnetic refrigeration cycle device operating near room temperature. For this purpose, the experimental data collection was used in order to predict coefficient of performance and temperature span for active magnetic refrigeration device. In addition, the operating parameters of active magnetic refrigerator cycle are used for solid magnetocaloric material under application 1.5 T magnetic fields. The obtained results including temperature span and coefficient of performance are presented and discussed.

Regression analysis is a widely used statistical technique to build a model from a set of data on two or more variables. Linear regression is based on linear correlation, and assumes that change in one variable is accompanied by a proportional change in another variable. Simple linear regression, or bivariate regression, is used for predicting the value of one variable from another variable (predictor); however, multiple linear regression, which enables us to analyse more than one predictor or variable, is more commonly used. This paper explains both simple and multiple linear regressions illustrated with an example of analysis and also discusses some common errors in presenting the results of regression, including inappropriate titles, causal language, inappropriate conclusions, and misinterpretation.

Assistance dogs must manage stress efficiently because they are involved in challenging tasks. Their welfare is currently a fundamental issue. This preliminary study aimed to compare assistance dogs (AD; n = 22) with pet dogs (PD; n = 24), using blood neuromodulator indicators to help find biomarkers that can improve the AD breeding, selection, training, and welfare monitoring. Both populations originated from different breeds, are of different ages, and had different lifestyles. Basal peripheral concentrations of prolactin (PRL), serotonin (5-HT), free (fOT) and total (tOT) oxytocin were measured by immunoassays. Multiple linear regressions were performed to assess the effect of activity, age, sex, and their interactions on these parameters. Correlations between neurohormonal levels were analyzed. No interactions were significant. fOT and tOT concentrations were significantly influenced by age (p < 0.0001 and p = 0.0002, respectively) and dogs’ activity (p = 0.0006 and p = 0.0277, respectively). A tendency was observed for age effect on PRL (p = 0.0625) and 5-HT (p = 0.0548), as well as for sex effect on tOT (p = 0.0588). PRL concentrations were heterogenous among AD. fOT and tOT were significantly but weakly correlated (Pearson’s r = 0.34; p = 0.04). Blood prolactin, serotonin, and oxytocin may represent biomarkers to assess workload and chronic stress-related responses in ADs and eventually improve their selection and training.
